Officially official.. my thoughts after my resale contract purchase completed.

Thank you to everyone who answered my questions during this whole process.
We went with a CCV resale 200/100/100 for our 1st contract. I want to say I am over the moon happy with my purchase. If you are on the fence... just do it :)

I was nervous since Im not a real advance planner. I had my 1st booking done for a trip just 6 weeks away within 15 minutes of my points being loaded. 4 nights in a Boardwalk 1 bedroom (yes I know those are last to go) The exact dates I wanted were available. I was actually VERY happy with the selection of rooms/resorts still available on such short notice.

I am a west coaster so I saw a date pop up for VGC in Sept and I snagged it! I waitlisted the night before and it got fulfilled the next day! It’s an Oogie Boogie Bash night in late September at VGC!

I wasnt finding a flight to FL that I loved and was still thinking about the heat in August so I checked for Aulani openings and BOOM! 3 nights around the same time as my FL trip were available. I cancelled my Boardwalk and booked Aulani for the 3 nights and waitlisted an additional night, a couple days later my waitlist was fulfilled.

The booking/cancelling/ waitlist process is so easy. I am just in love with this product and now regret even more not doing it a long time ago.

Maybe I was just lucky, maybe I just checked at the right time. But I do not regret this 1st resale purchase. The only downside to resale is the looonngggg process... it may have been worse for me because I had already committed to going to something Disney in August. If I had no plans it may not have bothered me as much.

Congratulations! Is this your 1st resale contract or your 1st DVC ownership of any kind? Either way, I agree with you - it's a new world worth getting into for anyone that likes to stay in nice places on vacation.

Also... and I have to say this... I miss your old screen name. It added a completely unique dimension to all your posts that was unintentional, hilarious, and misconstrued all at once. I wanted those elements for my own screen name, but couldn't hold a candle to VeginAZ.

Agree! Just do it! I hemmed and hawed and perseverated for years. I am very pleased with my purchase and about to stay as a DVC owner for the first time next month. I am thrilled!

The wait only bothered me because I knew, from learning it here, that my terrible title company created unnecessary delays. If I hadn't read so much here I would t have known any better. I also wouldn't spend a portion of every day trying to figure out how to afford cash payment for 150 points at the Poly direct!

But I also would never have felt confident enough to buy. Buy I did, and happy I am.

Waitlists for short stays (1-2 days) come through more often. Longer stays are harder to get, but they do happen. It does feel like you got a bit lucky, but summer is actually the "slow" time for DVC. Fall you would have to have even greater luck to get something at WDW! But it is indeed a nice product.

Yep it had 100 banked points. And we used almost all of them already.

Going through a terrible title company ordeal with my 2nd purchase now. In the end it will be worth it but frustrating when going through it

That’s the big thing I’ve also learned with my membership. Wait listing a couple nights comes through shockingly often. Eventually you just piece together a full stay.

I only wait list stays I've already booked at a lesser option since I basically have the portfolio to do so now. So there's always the fallback of whatever the holder reservation is booked for.

Nice score on this contract too with that full load of 2022 and 2023 points on there--I've been on the lookout for the same thing at CCV but didn’t pull it off in time. I'm also happy to see your August plans worked out. I remember we were wondering over in the Closing Time thread a few weeks ago whether either of us was going to get to the finish line in time to still get what we wanted for that.
We’ll be pulling for you on your other contract wrapping up ASAP, especially after the nonsense you’ve already had to put up with from the title company….
