Official WW thread!

I'm hopping on too. Tomorrow will mark one week for me. :)

Scrapperjill - sometimes the meetings aren't totally on weightloss topics, because successful weightloss means a whole new set of habits which really means a whole new you. Sometimes there are reasons people use as a crutch not to lose weight; home responsibilities are kind of one of the "stesses" that hinder keeping yourself focused on improving yourself. You will find your WW group to be a support group on a number of levels. Mostly the meetings do focus on food related topics though, so hang in there. If you can attend meetings, I think your loss will go better than if you just stop in, weigh in and leave. If you have to do that once in a while, fine, but try not to make a habit out of it - like one leader said; it is an awful expensive scale if you just pay to go and weigh in, but don't take advantage of the rest of the support that is offered.

You may want to do a search to see if there is a WW meeting near your work. I personally attend one in a downtown office building over my lunch hour because I know I won't make it any other time. Also if you have a group of friends at your workplace that are interested, they do a WW at Work program as well. I think you need like 15 people maybe to sign up for them to bring a WW meeting leader to your location at a time that is convenient to you. You pay slightly more on a weekly basis for the convenience, but it is well worth it if that is the only way it works for you. Plus there gets to be a bit of friendly competition in the office then with some positive peer pressure. Our office did it for a year or so until the group fizzled out, and while we had it, it worked wonderfully.

If you use WW meetings in conjunction with the support network here on WISH, you will succeed!!! However you can get it to work for you, stick with it - it works!

Take care, and see you on WISH!!

Day 3 here for me and going strong.

I worked 10.5 days and still have a bunch of stuff to do early before I head out tomorrow at 9:30 for my conference. So it is going to be another long day.

Today I went to the vending machine (STRESSED) and I had the dollar in my hand. Trying to decide what to spend points on. Then I asked how bad do you want this. I left with dollar in hand.

The past 2 days have been food day.

Monday: cake, bagels, chips, candy. I took a bagel plain for a snack later

Tuesday: cheese and sausage, cookies, candy, veggies. I got some veggies and crunched on those.

I swear they eat all the time at work. I decided to get out of joining that group.

I even came home after a 10.5 hour day with no lunch and worked out.

I really want to go to DL next year at Goal! I know I have plenty of time to get there.

I love this place.

Night tomorrow is another long long day!

:earsboy: Can I go to DL now?

Disney4me04....CONGRATS on turning away from the vending machine. That's a HUGE hurdle to jump.

Weigh in is at 1pm today....keep your fingers crossed for me please :)

2B how did weigh in ? I am on day 5 right now. Feeling good. Trying really hard not to look at the scale until Sunday morning.

I do need to get out and do some walking. I think I may have me and DS walk to his appointment. It is about 2 miles and it is not bad plus the weather is awesome out.

Hey....weigh in went great. I've lost 5.2 pounds :) I have a migraine at the moment and am fighting the "need chocolate" monsters.

Have fun on your walk...just remember to take it slow...don't want to over do it too soon.

Great job on the loss 2B!

Did not get my walk in but I spent an hour or more walking through the grocery store. I saved 26.00 in coupons! So I am thinking take the 26.00 and buy DD with the savings.

tomorrow is going to be another beautiful day! I want to get up early and walk. We will see, since I get up at 5 every day I am enjoying my days off.

But I did eat well. I did use 3 flex points on my jelly beans. I have some sweettart jelly beans. I love them But only allow a portion every few days.

tomorrow I will be using most of my flex points. Taking my son to lunch at BW3s. So I think I will get in a good walk in since I will earn some APs for going to lunch. I really do not count APs per say. I also have to stop at the Disney store while we are at the mall. Since DS owed me $20.00 and I am buying Disney Dollars with it. For our trip.

Which now I do not know if we are going to DL or DW. He said he wants to go to DW instead. So I guess I replan the ideas I have in mind. Going to get an answer out of him now.....Okay we are going to World. I can tell you we are not going in August. So I guess October 2005 is when we go.

Sunday morning is my home weigh in. I personally like doing it on my own and not going to meetings this week. I feel more relaxed. So I may stick to that for now. But if I find myself not doing well I will go back to meetings.

I did my nails and toes today. So I feel good. and I could wear sandals.

80s tomorrow. So I may need to pull out a fan or so.

Have a good day!

:earsboy:

Well this week has blown by. I have done fairly good with my points...Had one bad day when I was out doing errands and my DH called to have lunch. Well since I'm new at this ww and points thing (haven't got in the habit of bring my book along) I didn't know how many points everything was. Then later that night I had a meeting at Starbucks...needless to say I used some of my flex points that day.

I totaly agree with the cost being to much to just get weighed. But it's nice to know that you can do that if you have to. I didn't realize that was possable.

One question.. is it bad if you don't use all of your daily target points?

I do not like the word "bad"! So I won't say it is bad but it is not a good thing.

You need those Target points to function. And not to send your body in starvation mode.

NEVER NEVER eat below 20 points and if you do not use all your Target points once in awhile that is okay but please do not make a habit out of it.

The walgreens by me sells skinny cows individually so I went and got one for a treat today. There is no room in my freezer for a whole pack. And I may be more tempted to have one every day.

Scrapper- if you go to starbucks you can figure out points for your favorite drinks and even change points etc.

www.calorieking.com has a ton of fastfood places and others also. Just click on the big burger.

Keep plugging on your way with WW and the pounds will fall off.

HI ALL!

Can I join you? Im starting WW on Tuesday. ( first time my friend and I each had opebn to go to the meeting, were going to tackle this together!)

SO nice to see Im in such good company!

Welcome Binny!!!

Always glad to have a new person intersted in taking care of themself. And the support is great. I do look forward to coming here every night and changing my number in my cheat free box.

I am on day 6 and doing well. I am also feeling better.

Good Luck and post often it really helps!

Hey Binny....welcome!!!!! This is a great support area! Feel free to vent or ask for help with the craving monsters ;)

I'm surfing the boards to keep from eating tonight. Boy those PMS monsters are a pain the a__. :teeth:

Welcome binny!! I to just started ww last Monday, for the first time. I'm finding it fairly easy (so far). My hardest times so far were the first couple days. I think it was more just getting use to the point system and finding foods that are enjoyable, satisifying and low in point. Almost a week into it and I'm getting the hang of it.

Still having a little trouble figuring out my drink at Starbucks and the point value....I am calculating 5-6 depending on size and milk %. I tryed a soy one last night...not to bad (my first soy product..that I know of). I tryed a skinny cow the other day also...It was GOOD.

Can someone explain a skinny cow to me?? I have no idea what they are.

Scrapperjill glad to hear that everything is working out for you!!

Welcome Binny! Come here for support, ask questions, just post whatever strikes you for the day as to how you are doing etc.

BTW - I don't know what a "skinny cow" is either? Am I missing out on something?

Jen

I think Skinny Cow is a sub-brand name for Silhouette ice cream products. I like the ice cream sandwiches myself. ;)

That's exactly what a skinny cow is (Silhouette ice cream):). What a name for a treat. lol!! There low points and filling. Ive only tryed the ice cream sandwich so far...but it was good.

I go for my first weigh in tomarrow afternoon. I have my fingers crossed. But no matter what I feel good about this week and the choices I have made.:teeth:

Well today was my first weigh in day. I was nervious all day long. Throughout the week I have been watching my points, controling portion size, drinking lots of water and staying away from junk. I was just nervious that after everything I had been doing I didn't want disapointment the first week. I know it will come at some point, but I wanted so badly for the first week to work out good. I haven't been to good making sure I ate all my vegies, protien, and milk thoughout the week, which gave me more worries about weigh in today. But is't official...I'm a looser!!!:hyper: 3.8 lbs to be exact. :earseek: I can't wait to get my first clippie:)

I was so happy and excited when I saw her jot it down. It was just very uplifting to know what I'm doing works, not to mention VERY encouraging.

Hiya all!

I'm Brad (for those of ya who don't know me), and I am now going to go fully to WISH. I've been doing WW for three days now, and I'm loving it.
