Official word on height requirements for Cars Land and Matterhorn

Then why is this news if we've known this for months?

It's 'news' because of the misinformation being passed along by CMs the past couple of mos. I was told directly by a CM ~3 weeks ago that Matterhorn would not change. Wrong. I was told directly by a CM that RSR would be 48". Wrong. Talking to a CM working for DLR is making 'I heard it from a bus driver' @ WDW sound like a good thing. :sad2: So to answer your question, it's news because it was actually posted physically in DL for all to see to end the swirl over this. Oh, and up until the past day or so, the height requirement was still posted as 35" on the DL Web site. :confused3

I see that your trip is still a little ways away, but just FYI: Just because he's 40.5" at home does not mean he will measure on THEIR stick to 40 inches. And it's THEIR stick at THAT moment on THAT day that counts.

One could even be tall enough once and two hours later, not.

Just so expectations are set realistically,

Being that that he is 40.5 WITHOUT shoes, I'm sure she won't have a problem. Yes it is by their stick but I imagine that they use the same measurement for inches that the rest of us use. Have fun. We land in CL in two wks.

It still said 35" for Matterhorn last night for me, as I was checking it for a friend, so this is bummer news for them.

Ranks right up there with the TT closure not being posted on the WDW Web site right up until the 4/15 closure...despite signs for the 'last ride' being posted in Epcot. And even then they posted the closure for TT for sometime in June/July for a brief period of time, when in fact it closed after 4/15 until late November for a complete refurb/overhaul. :confused3 :(

Well.... one would like the measurement would match, but many people have experienced their child measuring X at the doctor's office and measuring shorter at DLR shortly (no pun intended) thereafter. And it's Disney's measurement that counts.

I was simply trying to help another DIS'er not have a disappointed child in case the measurement is different upon arrival at DCA.

Enjoy Cars Land in two weeks. I am hopeful to see it soon myself, life permitting. :wizard:

This - there have been numerous reports like this both at DLR and WDW. Yes, you'd like to think 40.5" would be the same 40.5" anywhere, but obviously it isn't always and only DLR's measurement matters.

Personally, I just wouldn't feel comfortable getting my child's hopes up when they're that close to the measurement.
