Official Wine & Dine 2014

I'm running behind (literally) as my hubby had back surgery last week and we are supposed to run... I have a room only ressie at SSR through DVC. Is my best bet to get the runDisney tickets? I think I had the code at one time but not sure where it is. If so, I assume I can link everything up with with the FP+. Help! We are old-time pros but this new band thing has me thrown...

The link and code are in the initial registration email.

If they catch you with someone else's bib you're banned from future Disney races...I think. Yes, they check IDs. It's a liability thing - if a medical emergency happens they need to know who you are. ETA: Plus, I think it's harder to buy bibs from people than it used to be. runDisney does not allow people to pick up bibs for other runners, so buying a bib would involve you waiting for whoever you buy it from to go to the expo and pick it up for you. But I'm a rule follower anyway so I think it's a bad idea.

At this point the only way to run legally is to get a bib through a Travel Agency or a charity. For charity bibs go to: http://www.rundisney.com/wine-and-dine-half-marathon/registration/#charity-groups

Travel Agents are listed right above that.

SUPER helpful. Thanks so much. I'm going to go legit or not go. Some races really check and others not so much. I figured Dis would be in the "we're checking it carefully" mode but just needed to ask. Don't want to do anything that would threaten future runs. Thanks again.

I apologize if this has been asked already, but if anyone can help me I'd really appreciate it!

This is the first time I've bought park tickets through runDisney and have a room only reservation (we've only booked packages before). I know when I've booked packages I've been able to schedule FP+ 60 days in advance. If we're staying on property in a room only reservation, but have runDisney tickets (not package tickets with the room), will we still be able to book FP+ 60 days in advance?

I have all the tickets successfully linked over to our Magic Bands and our FP+ day is coming up here in a few days. Right now MDE only has days available for 30 days out to book FP+... when it's my 60 days out will those other 30 days just pop up as available?

T.I.A. for the help!

Yup. I made all my FP+ ressies Tuesday, the 60 day mark for us. We arrive on Nov. 1. Even was able to score a coveted Anna & Elsa. Gotta see what all the hype is about and why its the hot ticket FastPass, ya know?:confused3:confused3

Awesome! Thanks for letting me know! We saw Anna and Elsa with a FP+ back in May and boy was it nice bypassing that 300, yes 300, minute wait!

Months ago - back when I read this entire thread - I read about watching the race from the Boardwalk area.

If my daughter finishes the race at the time she thinks, it could be 1:00-1:30 before she crosses that area. What am I supposed to do in the meantime? I will need transportation to wherever I choose to watch, which is why I picked the Boardwalk area. It's the only place I can think of that would be accessible.
(we won't have a rental car).
I'm not planning on attending the party, which is why I need to watch from outside the park.

Anyone that is familiar with the course have any opinions or suggestions?

Can someone shae how I link the runDisney theme park tickets with the MyDisney Experience so I can use FP+? I entered the confirmation number on the email (don't have the physical tix yet) but got an error. Many thanks!!

Are you having the tickets mailed to you or will you be picking them up at the expo? Mine were automatically entered into my MDE when I purchased them. Were yours part of a package or just separate? If they are part of a package, I believe you need to call to have them added.

You could have a couple of drinks in the Crew Club Lounge at the Yacht Club and then when it closes, walk outside to cheer on runners as they pass by.

My dh and I watched some of the race from the Boardwalk area last year. We (and a bunch of other people) grabbed chairs from the beach area and used them to sit and watch the race. It was a lot of fun seeing all of the different people and costumes. The time went pretty quickly.

We will be running this year and it sounds like we will be finishing at about the same time as your dd.

The red line indicates the approximate course from the past years. Forgive my shaky hand so early in the morning.

The course area within the yellow box is very narrow (some of if not the narrowest on the entire course). It is frequently an area of congestion and bottle necks.

The course area within the green box is markedly wider and less congested.

I've had friends cheer from both sections. I found it easier for a peppy (and sweaty) hug of support and cheer from the less crowded area near the Beach Club. (And by then there is only one hurdle left, the hill that separates Beach Club & International Gateway.)

If it's the same course as years' past you will want to head to the end of the Boardwalk entry (by the Swan/Dolphin) or to the Yacht/Beach Club area.Runners will not run the actual Boardwalk...
I think from a runners perspective, I would tell my family to hang on the grass by the volleyball courts at the Beach Club. Plenty of room and well lit.

I hope that everyone's training is going successfully and painlessly! I have scheduled a 10K run as part of my training sessions - that is in a few weeks. I'll be past the 6.2 miles at that point but I wanted a little extra motivation as I'll be past the halfway point in the training plan. More medals, more motivation :rotfl:

I have a question that maybe someone here can help me out with. I checked the FastPass+ threads but they are long and I couldn't really find what I was looking for. My window opened last night (with Sports tickets so I can say for sure you can book 60 days out with Sports tickets and a Sports hotel reservation - it even recognized a split stay and allowed me to book for both reservations).

I made a FP+ reservation for 2 for the Festival of Fantasy parade but when I look it up in my itinerary, it says "FastPass+ for one". When I click on "copy FP+" or "Modify details", it shows both myself and DH are holding a FP+ for the parade. Is this some kind of glitch? When I made all the reservations, I am positive I selected the two of us. Some of my other reservations came in as just one but when I changed the time, it now shows two. Problem is, I can't change the time for the parade. I guess what I am worried about it that although in some screens it says we both have a FP+, when we try to get into the parade viewing area, one of our bands will be locked out. Anyone have this issue before? I was going to call Disney but I have Anna and Elsa and the Seven Dwarf Mine ride FPs on the same day and I'm scared it will screw those up too! Thanks in advance. Sorry for the book.

I had a similar problem on the app. It told me all our fast passes were just for DH. I checked on the website and it showed the fast passes were for everyone.

Thanks for all the suggestions especially for the map! I was unfamiliar with where the different resorts were, so the map helps alot.

See, that is what worries me! With the discrepancy between the website and the app, how can you prove to a CM that you had FPs for everyone in your party if you are turned away at the attraction? My worry was that the menu showing one FP was correct and the menu showing 2 FPs was wrong - how would I know which one was correct? Anyway, I managed to fix my problem by copying my parade fastpass to DH and it now shows up correctly in both the app and the website.

6 mile training run today! Good luck to anyone in a race this weekend!

Anyone know about International Gateway entry and exit during the race and during the after party? We are staying at Beach Club and my husband and kids want to see my run by the boardwalk then meet me in the after party. I read somewhere not long ago that the international gateway entrance might be exit only during the race?

Last year we stayed at Beach Club. It's open for entry and exit throughout the race. I came in and out a few times while the race was still finishing up. Took a bit to cross though.

The system is definitely still glitchy. I've been to Disney twice now with FP+ and *knock on wood* have not had any issues when going to use our FP but did encounter glitches when looking up things online and on the app. For example, during our trip in December, I looked at the app and it showed FP ressies for everyone but one member of our group. However, when she logged into the app, it showed her FP ressies. When we used the FP later, no issues. I usually just travel with screenshots of my ressies on my phone and a printout just in case I run into issues.

If you look on the themeparks forum here, you'll see that this is a really common glitch right now.

Thanks for the info. It doesn't surprise me that it is common glitch but I would like everything to match between the app and website, lol! Sorry for the :offtopic: everyone. I figured others may be having the same problem too.

61 days until race day!
