You know, now that you say that, it is kind of odd since it's such a late race. Maybe because of the 5k? I'm not sure, but I couldn't find a studio anywhere...

It may have to do with the Food and Wine festival or just the timing of other DVC members' vacation plans. I've heard tails that people go to WDW for reasons other than runDisney. (Not that I understand such behavior...)

I'm up in Watertown. It's always nice to see others from MA on here. Sometimes I feel like there isn't a lot of us on the DIS.

Expo starts on the 7th, and if you get in on the 8th you might not get your room until after 4 (especially DVC), which doesn't make for a restful relaxing day.

And people there on normal vacations might not be leaving until Saturday/Sunday, so they are still there on Friday.

Just a combination of things I suppose!

Obviously since I booked yesterday, I'm coming on the 6th, and am currently considering a red eye flight (since I won't have to try to manage my son's sleep as well as my own on the plane) leaving on the late 5th early 6th...so I"m definitely not someone coming in just in time for the run!

This happened last year too. We waited too long to book and had to wait list Friday (maybe even both years, can't remember) and it came in pretty quick.

The first two years we stayed at BWV and the last two years we stayed at SSR (this year too) and while I love Boardwalk, I enjoy SSR for this race. We relax a little more, since I find the resort to be a little more laid back. The bus ride isn't too bad coming back, and you could definitely walk to BW or BC and get a cab if you didn't want to take the bus back.

What did you think of the race? It was our first time there, and I thought it was a nice course. We enjoyed it and enjoyed seeing all of the Lincoln sites.

Thanks for giving me hope. It would suck if I have to purchase a room Friday night when I have points to use. It's crazy that friday is sold out for the studios when we are just hitting the 7 month date.

If our wait list for BW doesn't come through, I'm almost positive we'll be cabbing it back to OKW afterwards. Only my bf is running the 1/2 (I'm doing the 5k in the a.m.), so that means I have all that time waiting for him for F&W....just saying....

I wait listed in 2012 for bw and it didn't come through. Not sure if we bothered last year, and didn't even try this year. You never know with wait lists. I have had overall very good luck so can't complain.

Sending good thoughts your way. It is definitely easier to walk back after having fun at f&w.

The silliest thing of all....we have bwv points.....we have just been so disorganized the last couple of years that we haven't made reservations in time. Next year I am determined to book at the 11 month point. Assuming we are coming back.

I did email rundisney and ask if there were any plans to celebrate w&d legacy runners and got a not so exciting email which said IF they decide to 'incorporate some magic' for the legacy runners they would let me know....

So having said that, if they ignore the legacy runners this year, it is going to be a lot easier to let the streak go. And maybe they don't care, since the races fill up so quickly. Feeling a little cynical today.
