Official Wine & Dine 2014

I really wanted to wait a bit to purchase the Finish Line tickets. They show a % full ticker on that usually too, right?

I am shocked how fast W&D is going. Crazy times in Run Disney.

What hotel do you stay at? I'm on my own, so I am trying to be careful with not overspending. With the food and wine fest, I'll definitely partake in a bit of the park madness as well!

I've stayed at the Royal Plaza (which is now the newly remodeled B Hotel), and last year at the Buena Vista Palace. We have a friend who works at the B so he gets us a friends and family rate, but the usual prices are so much cheaper than the Disney hotels. Now it sucks as far as not being surrounded by all things Disney, including other runners, but I'll sacrifice that any day to have more time in the parks. Plus there's no race transportation, but you can always grab a cab. That was the plan last year so we could all drink afterwards and not worry about driving, but the DH volunteered to be the designated driver. We still had the best time ever at the party!:dance3:

Yep! "Also in 2014, participants who complete the Tinker Bell Half Marathon, Disney Princess Half Marathon, and another eligible pair of Disneyland Resort & Walt Disney World Resort races will be eligible to receive the original Coast to Coast Race Challenge medal in addition to the pink version of the Coast to Coast Race Challenge medal."

:thumbsup2

Nice! One less thing holding you back, though, in that case. . . :rolleyes2

When it asks if you want to purchase the pin on the registration page, do you click both the yes and also check the box and put in a quantity? Or do you get one if you just click yes, but the other box is if you want extras?

I'm not understanding why you have to click yes twice. Thanks.

My DH and I just registered...I ran the PHM and loved it...cant wait for wine and dine!

62% full. Holy moly!!

Woah! That was fast. I went ahead and registered, even though I don't have anyone coming with me yet.

I didn't expect it to fill that quickly--I was even hoping I might wait until after Avengers Registration, to make sure I got in for that to qualify for the C2C...so now I guess I have to really be "on it" for Avengers or pay $$$ to a charity or travel agency to get in!

I know you can get rooms through run disney, but I was wondering if they offer AAA discounted rooms during race weekend? They did for PHM and were a little cheaper than disney, but I wasn't sure b/c of the Wine and Dine Festival not just race weekend.

This is great information! Thanks...I've driven around Orlando before a cruise, but this will be my first WDW experience. :beach:

I'm not sure about AAA, but at least according to this list of past discounts, Disney offered 20-35% off room-only reservations for stays during the time of W&D. It looks like they first were made available in September.

No guarantee that they'll do the same again this year, but it suggests they could at least.

Really glad I'm all ready signed up. I'm slightly surprised at how fast it's going and slightly surprised not. Seemed like there was more interest on the FB page this year in this race then last year. Now to convince parents that booking a hotel room now would be a good idea and not later.

In my limited experience over the past couple years, anniversary years seem to draw a bit more interest since runDisney has historically made a special medal to commemorate them. The ability for people to swing Coast-to-Coast in a week with the Avengers announcement probably isn't hurting things.

If you're doing a room-only hotel room, you only have to put down one night's deposit and you can cancel up until a day or so of your scheduled trip. Plus, you can apply any discounts that might come out later! I can't see why they wouldn't go for it! :)
