Official Wine and Dine 2016 thread

I am so disappointed, I was looking to do my Coast to Coast and got hung up at work. got on at 4PM and all the Half Marathon and 10K spots were sold out. I guess I get to save my $200.00 but man I can not believe that it got sold out that fast. They must have had more challenge spots. I guess I will have to go out to Anaheim at some point again....

Get on the email address lists for the travel partners. It is highly likely that more bibs will become available through them all summer long, even as it reads 'Sold out' on the website.

So excited...I was tied up with work today and a DIS/RunDisney friend who signed last week had me in the Challenge and the 5K BEFORE 12:10! Amazes me that 3 years ago I signed up for my first Disney Race...ToT a month after it opened. CRAZY...my 3rd RunDisney Weekend and FIRST CHALLENGE!

Is there a way to see the Performance Jacket that is on the Active site? And can someone tell me the link to the training gear? TIA!!

FWIW: Just checked around using the charity links on the runDisney site, and there appear to be several charities with slots still. I have notes from about 12 different ones (I didn't look up every one). Based upon my data:

St. Jude is at the upper end of the bell curve: 1250-10k 2000- the 1/2 3000-challenge. Registration and pasta party included. Cost even higher if you want the package (room and I think tickets)
Pitching in for Kids seems to have 1/2 marathon only.
Homes for our troops is $600 across the board, if you haven't raised for them before; $500 if you have.
TAPs is 600-10k, 600-1/2, and 800-challenge.
Teaching and learning is 314-10k 628-1/2 942-challenge (note all are Pi, Pi x2, Pi x3). Plus registration

Range for the rest: 10k $450-1000 1/2 $800-1400 Challenge 1000-1650

Some seem to let you join or support if you're already registered and want to help them.
This post should not be interpreted as endorsing or attempting to fund raise for anything. It is an attempt to distribute data in the aftermath of the sellout.

Ok.... So am I the only one that thinks the after party price is crazy... I am running the half and went to buy an after party ticket for my husband who is not running. We are annual passholders.... I have a hard time spending 80$ for a few hours in the park for what is essentially the same as if we went during the day for free with our passes. I am thinking of saving the 80$ and putting it towards a nice dinner at Cali Grill and enjoying my own celebration at Epcot after the race. Thoughts????

We're both running and have 'tickets' .... My initial thought is you're spot on! Use the bonus $80 to eat elsewhere and play!

Alternatively, make friends and acquire their 'after party' wristband .... Especially for those many folks who are flying back Sunday afternoon .... Disney isn't losing money ....

And let's be realistic, only half to 3/4 of the runners will attend the after party anyway.

The after party will start while that days guests are still in the park. Most of the time EPCOT closes at 9. I have been there when it closed at 8:30 once. Runners and after party people will have wrist bands. In order to go on attractions or purchase food you will probably have to show the band. It would be just like MNSSHP and MVMCP.

I say, do what makes you happy! And an expensive dinner, maybe overlooking Wishes with DH sounds like an awesome end to a race day :)

I would totally agree with you and spend the money possibly somewhere a little nicer or where you really want to go. Or even use it towards some gear, souvenirs, or something extra when you're there...

Yeah I was thinking nice dinner, more stuff at expo, or put it towards my marathon weekend registration :yay:

Did I totally miss where they are selling the after party tickets? Was that on the Active website?

Yeah - back in the day it made sense, because party ticket buyers would get from around 9:30pm to around midnight with really no lines for rides or kiosks. This year, I think the party will be a packed mess.
