Official Wine and Dine 2016 thread

Awesome! Of course I had to click to see what happens and it took me to the sold out kids races. I'm already nervous about tomorrow. The half will hey friends and my first and the reason we decided over a year ago to go back to wdw. Well go anyway but I've got my fingers crossed we'll get in since it's just for the half.
Yeah, it's still stuff left over from the early AP/DVC registration. They haven't re-populated things for general registration yet.

My guess is that the half will be the last of the non-kid races to sell out. I could be wrong about that but we'll see!
Thank you!
You're welcome! :)

So do I want to be on the active.com website or the rD website tomorrow at noon? Or does rD take you to active.com?

I'm not a runDisney vet yet, but it's been my experience that the link that the lovely Ariel484 posted above will be the quickest way to access registration. I usually have both Active and runDisney sites up as a precaution, but the runDisney site takes you to Active as well, and it has been known to crash during past registrations. Hopefully they have fixed the crashing issue, but because so many people are trying to get in at once, sometimes it overloads the sites.

Helpful runners on this board have also been known to post links that take you directly to the registration queue when the sites have been down.
Hope this helps! Good luck tomorrow - I'll be right there with you, sprinkling pixie dust on my computer, biting my nails and ignoring phone calls at work while I furiously register. pixiedust:

Well aren't you just too kind. :lovestruc @bearsgirl to clarify, this is the same link that runDisney will post on their website. So you're just skipping the step of going to runDisney.com. If you press the "register now" button at the link I posted it'll take you right to where each race will be posted.

Just like last week, I so happen to have a *meeting* in my calendar for tomorrow at noon. What are the chances?! ;)

Yes, thank you for clarifying!

Too funny! I do, too. And my boss knows better than to interrupt me on Disney registration days! I even have a sign for my office door! Everyone probably thinks I'm crazy, but they don't know what stress is until they try registering for these races!! :yo-yo:

Hi there...does anyone have a photo of what the Runners Bundle hat has looked like for past races? Is it a baseball cap type of hat or something else?
Also, there was some mention just a few posts above of the link provided a while back that take you right to the register now area......would someone mind reposting that link as I can't find the original post?
Thanks and good luck to us ALL tomorrow!!! :)

So my plan was to be in front of the computer at noon tomorrow, all ready to register. My child has other plans. I am 2 days overdue with this baby and now at noon tomorrow, I will be in the middle of an ultrasound to see if baby is showing any signs of making a move or not.

I just don't think my doctor will be impressed if he's trying to show me my baby on screen and I'm sat on my phone trying to register for a race! I'm going to attempt to have my parents register me, but they're more than a little computer illiterate, and I don't like my chances of getting in for the 10K. So how fast do we think the 5K and the kids races will sell out?

Hope everything is good and baby comes soon!

The 5k and kids races typically sell quickly. But not as quick as that 10k will probably go.

Is the 5k for you or someone else?

If it was me, I'd go 10k first, then kids races and then 5k.

Yes- the jackets are super fitted for women's. I would go up one size to have it fit, up two sizes if you like it loose. It seems like in the past a lot of the presale jackets were the race logo on the front and a pair of running shoes on the back. It seems like since Avengers on the preorder jackets actually have cute designs on them. I'll upload a pic of my Avengers one in a minute when I can find my phone
Oops! I forgot! Here's the jacket pic. The inside is a very light fleece lining. I've washed it quite a few times because I wear it a lot and haven't had issue with the picture peeling or whatever. I ordered one size up from my normal size image.jpegimage.jpeg

First, congrats on the baby! I hope all of that goes well. If you are 100% certain that your parents can get every single race you want, the order Patty gave you is the way to go. I want to just give you one thing to think about- if you think your parents won't be able to get everything, I would start with the kid races, for the reason that travel agents sell 5k, 10k, half and challenge but they don't sell kids so when they are sold out, there's no other option. I haven't ever tried to register for kid races, but I guess I wanted to give you one more thing to think about because you obviously don't have enough on your mind right now! :thumbsup2

Has anyone ran for a charity before? I'm thinking of signing up for the 10K through Noah's Light Foundation. I still plan on signing up for the 5K through Active tomorrow.

My questions are how do you get your bib? Do you still do it the same way as if you registered through Active? I'm having trouble finding that information on the Noah's Light Foundation website and want to register tonight if possible. Any other differences with the whole process registering through a charity as opposed to registering through Active other than raising money?

I would love to hear others experiences with running for a charity. :lovestruc

Thanks!

The plan was to do the 10K and 5K for me, and the kids race for DS3. But I'm thinking the 10K will sell out before I even get chance to get on the website, so just doing the 5K was Plan B. Now I'm worried everything will sell out!

I have very little faith in my parents figuring out how to get me registered! They would try their hardest, but my mom can barely work her laptop and my dad would get annoyed and give up at the first sign of something not working. DH has offered to try, but if something comes up at work he'll have to abandon his attempt.

I might be able to attempt to register on my phone if the doctor isn't in the room, it's just an extra stress I didn't really want! But I do think I will take your advice and try for the kids race before the 5K.

Thanks!

I ran for TAPS for Princess this February. You get your bib and shirts the same way you would for any other race. When you pick up your bib there will be a table for the charity at which you will get anything extra from them. I had a pretty good experience with TAPS. They weren't really organized at the race as far as events and everything, but raising money was easy. As long as I raised the amount of money I needed to by the deadline all was good.

Honestly it's very easy and a great way to support something if you don't want to go through RunDisney. TAPS had a room block at Coronado Springs and we got a code for discounts on rooms. Since RunDisney won't have those, this may be a good option if you want a discount. I felt really good about raising money to run for something other than myself.

Thank you for the information! Were you able to access your registration through Active? I would like to go on and pre-order the pins if I could.

Yes, actually after I registered through the charity I was sent a pre-paid active registration link a few weeks later. I believe that you can just go through RunDisney and pre-order pins separately because I don't remember being asked about them in my original registration.

That's good to know, thank you! I'm a little nervous about not registering tomorrow and having to wait for the pre-paid registration link. haha The information you gave me makes me feel better about it though.

I think I'm going to go register with Noah's Light Foundation now. I always wanted to run for a charity. :lovestruc

Thanks again. :teeth:
