Just adjusted our dates to add a day and check out the 8th so we can hit the Christmas party. I'm a sucker for all things Christmas!
She can complete that part later. My friend and I are registering for our first rd event. I want to make sure I give her correct info. She probably won't have proof of time for the half, what time should she put she'll finish in when she registers? 315? Or can she just get registered and then complete that part?
Yes! To do both of those things (update time and pre-order merchandise), log back into your Active.com account and click "My Events." There are options to edit your registration (update your time here) and to order additional items (or something similar). Also, we can go back in to pre order merch after we're registered if I've read correctly? I don't want to waste time on things that can be done later.
Thanks!
I feel like they would have to have the decorations up for the first party, right?I probably will not be able to do a Christmas Party this year like I had hoped. I have never done one before nor been to WDW around Christmas. If I was in the MK on Saturday, do you think some Christmas decorations would be up? I know it is not the same as being at the party but I would like to see some of the decorations.
I feel like they would have to have the decorations up for the first party, right?![]()
MK will be decorated. The other parts of the World will slowly be getting them up during this trip.
Not the half, but for the challenge + pin bundle the fees were about 6.5%, so I'd expect the same for the half (around $202.35 total).Question regarding registration: Can anyone who registered for just the half on Tuesday tell me how much the active fees were? Trying to figure out the total amount I need to be prepared for on Tuesday.
Looking at the Princess guide (same start time): "Participants must board buses no later than 4:00AM in order to make it to their corrals on time."Can anyone tell me what time you have to get to the 10Ks typically?
I am planning on doing the 1/2, but a friend wants me to do the challenge with her. I am trying to decide if I can handle getting up super early in the morning the day before the 1/2 also.
That's definitely what I'm hoping for. Southwest's schedule only goes up to November 4th right now, but when they open up more dates, I'd be looking for something around 6-7 pm. Which is what they have for the week before on Sunday, so I'm hoping it's similar for November 6th.
I have no idea - they have no "rules" or terms printed on their AP page, and normally I don't have to worry because MR. Ariel484 is not a huge fan of running. I talked myself out of trying to register him and I doubt I would have been able to anyway, with how quickly everything went today, so I'll be back for his 10K entry next week.
Great job finishing C25K...I used that one too!
What items are you interested in, as far as pricing?
Curious if they do this to people who try with an AP cert, assuming that this qualifies them?? Or people who register their kids who are not technically DVC members but the parents are?? Cancelling registrations in cases like this -- and doing it AFTER regular registration opens -- would seem pretty nasty. They don't state their rules clearly. Would seem unfair to penalize people this harshly.
I could see cancelling a registration if an adult who isn't DVC, doesn't have an AP, and doesn't even have an AP cert uses the early link to register. Otherwise it's a bit much given Disney's lack of clarity.
Just thought of this... if they mean "DVC Member" as strictly as the adult who signed the contract, why do they even allow the DVC early registration page and links to show any kids races?!?!?![]()
By definition, you can't have a minor sign a DVC contract...

I'm confused by that too. I thought ON HOLD meant that if everyone who was in the process of registering actually completed registration and paid, that the race would be sold out...and along those lines I too thought there was the 15 minute window. Good to know for next week!
That makes a lot of sense!I would bet a lot of money that DVC goes by address. They like to use "household" quite a bit in terminology. I wouldn't worry about it. I think they are more or less looking for someone who doesn't match anything. No address for dvc, no name or birthday for AP, etc. There is definitely a reason why they have our whole lives in their files! Not to mention it could just be spot checked too, not necessarily every registration.
They do - and they cancel their registrations. Its simply easier to do it after the fact when you can compare the lists of registrants vs. the DVC, Cast Member, AP, etc lists
Can you provide evidence that Disney checks and cancels registrations? I've never heard of it. I know people who aren't DVC members who have signed up early over the years using DVC links. (And no I don't condone this. I'm a DVC and AP member.) And I can't imagine why Disney would have any incentive to spend the resources checking this. (Once they have peoples' registration fees, they don't care.)
There was one race where people reported having their early entry removed, but it was only for one race. I haven't seen any reports since. So... I don't think they do. (Just like I realllllyyy don't think they check EVERY. SINGLE. POT.) Why would they waste resources on that? There's no upside to them. If they cared on their end I think they would make it harder to register without an AP or DVC number attached to registration.
@afan links will be on the Registration section of the Wine & Dine page. They've also been putting them on the main page for each race weekend lately.
I think when you refresh it's taking you to the main page because that's what is in the web address. If you add "registration" to the web address it won't do that.
So http://www.rundisney.com/wine-and-dine-half-marathon/registration
Instead of http://www.rundisney.com/wine-and-dine-half-marathon/
And normally someone posts the link here as well.![]()
I think you and I work in a similar field.Thank you! One of the things I'm emailing her the link to is this thread since I'll only have access to the boards from my phone at work. Trying to limit what I do on my work computer though I do have permission to register. They look at what we do on our computers and don't want us doing much online because of hippa.
