Official Wii/DS Q/A thread. FAQ in first post! Game reviews in second post!

Does anyone know what the odds are of getting a wii before March? I would like to get one for my DH's birthday but I can't wait in lines every day or call stores all the time. Are wii alerts the only way to go? What do you suggest. Thanks.

Thanks Teresa, you got that one perfectly. I think you'll have no problem getting one as long as you pay attention to those sunday ads. About 1.5 months before Christmas, I walked into my local TRU about 3 hours after they opened and they still had plenty (had it in their ad).

And don't let anyone talk you into buying a bundle--if the store only advertises the system, they can't leagally force you to buy more than just that.

She's OK. I have to make a vet appt. for her next month to get all her shots including her 1st shots. DH wanted to be here for her shots to help hold her while she gets them and so we can actually pay for it We are gonna use some of his deployment money to get them done since all the money I did have went to christmas and towards my disney trip. And well because I know he wont admit it, but I know he just wants to be there just to be there. You know men and cute little kittens He's Zelda's daddy, so I know he wants to be there

I don't know if this helps anybody or not but I talked to a guy at Best Buy this week and he said they usually get their shipments in late Friday evening and they hold them till Sunday morning. He said they've never had a shipment of less than 60 so I would think going to Best Buy on a Sunday morning would be a good bet.

Also our Walmart advertisement did have the Wii listed for this week so I would assume they will be available tomorrow morning.

I have a wii/guitar hero question. Hope this is the right thread? I was able to get a wii from Sears.com yesterday. I'm not telling the kids until I get a shipping notice. I still have a fear that they'll cancel my order saying they oversold or whatever. Anyway, I really want guitar hero 3. We have a PS2. Is wii's version better or should I just go for the PS2 version? I overheard someone at gamestop saying that if you buy the wii version, you're not limited to whatever songs come preprogramed on the game?.....that you can download some songs from on the internet somewhere? True or no?

as far as i know you cant download songs yet for teh gh3, i think someone on here mentioned that you may be able to in the future..

At thispoint you can not download addational tracks, however the plans are that in the near future once the WIIWARE channel launches(some time in the early new year) you should be able to download new tracks...for a slight fee(which is like $5.00 for 3 songs on the xbox)

It has sticky tape on it but ours is just sitting on top of the tv and we haven't had any trouble--I didn't want to stick it down because we are discussing a new tv purchase soon. Its very easy. You should have gotten a little stand for the sensor bar. Put the sensor bar on the stand and then just put it right in front of the tv. It litereally has to be in front of it. If the tv came with a stand to hold the tv up, put the sensor bar stand on the tv stand. After that go to your wii settings and keep clicking the arrow to the right until you see a setting for the sensor bar. Click on that setting. Click on the part for where the sensor bar goes and then it should come up saying above tv or below tv. Click on below tv. And thats it. You will then be all set up.

There should be, but I don't have the game so I don't know. I'll see if I can find the answer somewhere, but hopefully someone who has the game can help.

And everyone has not read the instructions might want to look through them in case there is something that you may have missed without knowing it.

And in the same vein--always read the game instructions cuz 9 out of 10 times it'll answer the easy questions (like maybe the DDR question above?)
