Check Mii Out on November 11
November 8, 2007 - Nintendo has revealed that its much-flaunted new Wii channel, Check Mii Out, will hit consoles in the US on November 11.

If you've not been keeping tabs, Check Mii Out offers Wii users the chance to show off their fancy Mii creations, via the Posting Plaza. Here, you can submit, exchange and browse other Miis either in your own region or worldwide.

Users are free to browse a random selection of 1,000 Miis, or just pop their eyeballs over the channel's current and all-time favourites. Searching by creator or unique Mii number, amongst a variety of other options, it's even possible to target your favourite Miis or import them onto your own Wii.

Nintendo is also promising a contest section where users can compete in numerous challenges, creating Mii based around a specific person, character or theme. Examples include Abraham Lincoln, the Tooth Fairy and "the biggest bully ever". Users can then vote on submissions to determine the winner. Apparently contests will run for two weeks each, week one for Mii creation and submission, week two for voting.

George Harrison, Nintendo of America's senior vice president of marketing and corporate communications, noted, "The Check Mii Out Channel lets people show off their Mii creations and vote on those created by others. It's yet another way that we're building fun, interactive communities of Wii owners without charging them extra for the privilege." Zing!

So far, Nintendo is yet to reveal details for the European release of the Check Mii Out Channel. However, whispers suggest we won't have long to wait following the US launch at all.

I do not have wireless router. The Nintendo wii that I have is for x-mas so I just wanted to make sure I had everything I needed. Will the nintendo wireless usb adapter by Nintendo work from a diffrent room?

Does anyone no about the game medal of honer --airborn for the wii ?

As for the Nintendo USb wireless adapter...
It pugs into the back of your (wired) computer and broadcast a signal that your wii can pick up... It should have no problem broadcasting from another room. You will need to set your system to allow it, but it should walk you through step by step in the adapters instructions.

Oh my gosh! I'm like so excited for High School Musical Sing It (16th Of November here!) and Guitar Hero III (23rd of November!) I seriously um annoying my best friends so much by going on about it So, I was wondering is there a list of songs for Guitar Hero floating around the internet? I wanna see if I know any of them lol

I was at Target for drinks for church and DH I did send over to Toys R Us to see if he could get one. I knew TRU had them and the man told me on Thursday that they would sell out by early afternoon.....so DH got there as soon as he could, but too late! UGH!

I really do not want to camp out a couple hours early for this darn thing!!! I was told and already really figured this out myself, that this next Sunday is my LAST Sunday to have a chance at getting one without a mob!

Are there any other stores that have them in often and do the Sunday put out??

I got one this morning at Target as soon as they opened. I was there a few minutes before with about 5 others and got one. I scanned in the Wii barcode into the price checker on Wednesday, I think the number is 20723001, and it said they had them in the backroom. I asked if they would sell me one, but not luck. That way, I did know they had them in stock and they told me they would be in the ad on Sunday. I was thrilled and my child will be even more so on Christmas Morning.

Now, do you think the Mario Galaxy will be fun for a seven year old? TRU is having a gift card giveaway this week with it, so I thought I might take advantage.

I am a rookie to the gaming systems. My kids (10 & 12) each have a DS but that is it. I thought about getting the Wii for them for Christmas but it looks like they are in high demand so that may not happen. The only thing I like about the Wii would be the interactive games that get the kids moving. Is the Wii the only system that offers those types of games? Thanks!

I purchased the Wii a few weeks ago to give to my DS7 and DS5. This is our first game console. But now I'm beginning to get worried that the Wii will be too hard for DS5. I think you can use gamecube games with the wii, so I'm thinking of getting DS5 a gamecube game to play on the Wii so he can use the classic controller. Would that make it easier for him? Also, should I buy the gamecube hand controller or the Wii classic controller? Or does it even matter?

Fletch3rd - my DS5 has no problems playing on the wii. You shouldn't have a problem. I have the wiimotes and the nunchucks and he uses both. I have not bought a classic controller and he doesn't need it.

Should I go for the ToysRUs special with the $25 gift card tomorrow or I saw posted here on the Black Friday thread that either Best Buy or Circuit City I believe would have it for I think around $30 on that day???

What would be someone's odds of getting this for a better price on Black Friday fighting the crowds or should I just realize that it's going to be $50 and get the bonus $25 GC?? Just so you know I would rather save the $$ as I don't really have much else to get at ToysRus---but if this is the best deal I'll use it to get another controller I guess.

I haven't seen Galaxy on sale at any of the Black friday websites. You can go to gotta deal's black friday forums to check for sure though.

I have confirmed this Black Friday sale for Mario for $34.99 at Circuit City from the Black Friday post on this forum. I printed these out before the OP started listing Adscans so I have it right here in front of me. It's listed under Video Games as "Super Mario Galaxy for Nintendo Wii $34.99.

What does everyone think about being able to get this ---can I save some $$ or is my best bet to just get the ToysRus special with GC???
