Bought it back in February and it has worked in the past, hasn't been played in a month or more.
When you put it in, it shows that WiiPlay is in, you click on it and you pick start, then it tells you to put on the wrist strap, then it tells you that the game disc cannot be read.
Anyway, problem solved, I called Nintendo and here's what they had me do after having me check for visible scratches(there aren't any by the way):
1)Wipe the disc with a clean sock or t-shirt(NOT a papertowel). First dampen the sock and wipe from the middle out, never in a circular motion. Then use a dry sock and wipe from the middle out.
2)Next turn the wii off and remove all memory cards(gamecube and SD) as well as gamecube controllers if they're connected.
3)Next insert the disc(doesn't matter if the wii is on or off she said)
4)Next, attempt to play.
Well, this didn't work for us. All their games are warranted for 3 months and ours is probably at 3 1/2 months or even 4 months and I don't have the receipt. She said that it came out on Valentines day so even if we bought it the first day it came out, it could only be 4 months old and they'd replace it for free, no problem. It was so nice that they're not too picky about the 3 month thing. She's sending me a label and box to send it to her in and I'll have a new one in 8-10 days she said. If it happened to be an older game that was definitely out of warranty, she said the repair cost is $25. She also said they don't actually repair them, they just send you a new one.
Anyway, they were very nice and pleasant to deal with and the problem is solved. I'll let you know when I get my replacement disc.
Isn't that nice of them! like the DW said...Nintendo Rocks!
Also for future referance...many stores offer game warranty's. For like $2-5 you can cover your game for a year incase there are any problems. I do not usually suggest this, but if you have little kids, who are prone to leaveing games sittingout where they can get damaged, it is a good idea to put the extra few dollars into it.
Now onto other news....
Buy Zack & Wiki Campaign 2007
Okay, you can't buy it yet, but maybe you can pre-order. And if not, you should at least start saving.

June 18, 2007 - Not since Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem on GameCube have we demanded that readers purchase a videogame, but the time has come (again) for us to take a stand. Capcom has a fantastic point-and-click puzzle-adventure on its hands. It's clever. It's difficult. It will make you think. It's also beautiful, perfectly capitalizing on Wii's strengths.
Unfortunately, it's got a stupid name. Formerly Project Treasure Island Z, now it's called Zack & Wiki: Quest for Barbaros' Treasure. Uh-huh, we know. Bad. Really, really bad. Meanwhile, unless you loved the style of Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker - and you should have - you probably won't find yourself wowed by the cel-shaded graphics forming the characters and worlds in Z&W. And there's no blood, F-bombs or dead hookers, either - all integral ingredients to today's most popular efforts.
But we're telling you, Zack & Wiki is fun. Really fun. Really smart. And really enjoyable. And we're not going to stop this campaign until you've pre-ordered it. Do it. Do it right now. What do you mean your local retailer isn't accepting pre-orders? That's no excuse for the truly dedicated. Start saving. Create a Zack & Wiki fund. And get on the message boards and spread the word. It's come down from the IGN Wii editors that Z&W (as those in the know call it) is the real deal and must be owned. As loyal Nintendo fans, you cannot disobey.
I happen to agree with him, just the little I have seen of this game it looks fantastic! Go to ign.com and checkout the video footage, pictures and writeups abotu this game...make sure those of you who like a challange check it out!
