It's spreading on facebook now that people have seen the medal leak here on the boards. I wonder how long before the links don't work or that post on fb is deleted

Which is silly, just release it already if it's been leaked about twice now (I read that a guy put it on his blog and then his blog got pulled for whatever reason - it's back up now, minus the medal pics).

Same with BLT... "No, we aren't building any DVC, please pay no attention to the obvious 10 stories already under construction. Nothing to see here". LOL!!

I really wonder how long that page has been up if you knew the url? I have a feeling it's pretty 'new' or this would have been posted long time ago. Just my opinion.. So I have a feeling they were just getting it ready to release it anyway.

Without telling too many secrets, WDWM has been rather lax in their url security. As races near, you will also see folks mysteriously know their bib number a week or so pre-release. I think Joe through out the secret rather well.

The websites has been working for a few days. We talked about posting the pics of the marathon medal on Saturday on our Facebook running groups but decided against it. Didn't want to upset the Mouse.

Without telling too many secrets, WDWM has been rather lax in their url security. As races near, you will also see folks mysteriously know their bib number a week or so pre-release. I think Joe through out the secret rather well.

Gotta love extremely predictable URLs. You'd think they would learn after they go so mad about everyone getting their Princess waivers two weeks early and then calling them to find out their corral!

Overall, I really like the medal. I can't say I love the pointy "20 years" part on the bottom, but I guess the point of the anniversary medal is to have the "20 years" somwhere. LOVE the quotes around the edges.

I really like the medal and I agree with the quotes. It's kind of funny--because let's not loose sight of the fact that I started this whole running thing because of a mouse so having that quote on the medal is actually pretty awesome for me. Nothing like finishing the 26 miles to be reminded of why I started!

Actually the original picture is still posted, so I'm not sure Disney is really sweating it. Having itleak seems to be creating more interest. I pulled it because there's a person who does an amazing job designing these medals and I felt he desrved the fanfare the reveal would bring without me ruining it.

I love the quotes too - I didn't notice them at first, my husband pointed it out to me. I think it makes it really special!

You bring up a fantastic point. I think a lot of folks - especially on FB - lose sight of the fact that someone works pretty hard at designing the medals & all that is posted is a bunch of negativity. I may just have to use post your quote on that! (crediting you of course)

Being the owner of the original and more recent iteration of the medal (2003, 2010), I like the spinner one. If it was my only time at running the WDW full, I might be a bit disappointed it didn't have the mouse shape. But, I like it.

Wouldn't it be funny if the pictures in the posted url were actually a decoy?

I would be so sad, I absolutely love it! But really, I think if they were going to a decoy, it would be something completely outrageously terrible. It's just mean to show something a lot of people are going to fall in love with, then change it up.

No doubt. I've always wanted a spinny medal, and one with old and new Mickey is pretty nice. I can understand a bit of the grief about the DL 5th anniversary. It kind of looked like they were saving money. But not so with this one.
