I have an odd question. First let me preface it with that I am seeing my doctor tomorrow morning. The last several times after I have run, my urine has had blood in it. :confused3 Last night I did 11 miles and it was the worst it has been so far. Yesterday and Saturday I drank nothing but water, a lot of water. And on my run I went through a 16 oz bottle that I carried with me and a 10 oz bottle on my belt. I have never had to pee so bad after a run. Has anyone else ever experienced this or have any idea what could cause it. I just find it really weird that it only happens after a run.

I will be wearing bright neon volt Pegasus 29+ by Nike. Love the color. Bought 3 pairs this week.

I tried those on,incredible amounts of cushioning, especially in the heel, almost seemed to be too much for me as I tend to overpronate.

I wear Brooks Ghost - 3 currently. I love them. I actually started running by just vying a pair of any running shoe I thought looked nice. After hurting my foot I decided to go to the running store & see what they could tell me. Tried on a few pair & loved the ghost. Went out for my first run & it was amazing the difference. :) go figure.

I'm going to need a new pair soon as these have just over 300 miles on them. Hopefully I'll like Ghost 4 as they are on sale.

That's scary and I hope everything goes well at the doctor.

I am in a pair of Asics from a sporting good store. I found out I need a different size/type of shoe, but these are still in great shape so this fall I'm going to go ahead and get fitted for the right shoes!

Please don't hurt yourself in the wrong shoe. I understand wanting to maximize the value of what you're wearing now, but don't injure yourself running in something that isn't right for you.

I will, and thank you. I have been paying very close attention to the feel since finding out I need something different. If they start hurting me, we'll find the budget for new shoes sooner than planned. The consultant I saw (a friend took me to her local store to get fitted but we didn't have my shoes with--and we made it clear I couldn't get new shoes just then) said it would be okay to use the ones I had until I could switch. It's just been hard to find the $$$$ to go do it when DH's shoes wore out first since the Navy makes him run a lot. ;)

Good luck at the Dr. but an FYI, this is something that happens when exercising as is explained on WebMD and other medical information sites.

Currently in Brooks Adrenalines GTS 12s with Powerstep inserts. I'm almost to 500 miles on them, so they'll be retired this week and I'll switch to GTS 11s (I got 2 pairs on clearance from RunningWarehouse a few months back!).

I'm considering trying out Brooks Ravennas to slowly begin to transition to a lighter shoe. If I do this I'll probably end up wearing the Ravennas for the half and a newer pair of Adrenalines for the full. :confused3

I'm mostly wearing my Brooks Adrenaline but I'm slowly learning to run in my Brooks Pure Cadence. I'm only using the Pure Cadence on one short run per week and it's been a process for me. I was told it could take a year or more to transition to more minimalist shoes, especially from where I'm starting.
For the races I'll definitely wear the Adrenalines. It's almost time to replace them for the 4th or 5th time....

Amanda

How do you like the Pure Cadence shoes? How long have you had them? I'm REALLY curious to know how long they last...:wave2:

I am now running in pair of Adrenaline GTS 11 and a pair of Ravenna 3s...I originally needed more support and then moved down to the Ravenna...had zero problems transitioning!

Thank you!! Glad to hear they are working out for you...sounds like you are I are in the same boat. I'll probably try to grab a pair of Ravennas sometime in the fall so I can have both that pair and a fresh pair of Adrenalines by December for tapering.

Thanks again! :thumbsup2

I walked the 2012 Disney Half and love my Womens Merrell Siren Sports. Comfortable. But even better with a pair of SofSole high impact inserts. Getting another pair in case I wear these ones out.

You are very welcome!

I got a pair of Ravenna 3's when I started training about 6 weeks ago and love them! I'd been fitted for a pair of Mizunos (don't remember which ones) but they had too much support. The Ravennas struck the perfect balance for me.

Looking at our training schedule, I'll hit 500 miles in my Ravenna's sometime in the middle of our 20 mile training run in December. Of course, if they give me problems before that I'll get a new pair, but is it bad to switch to new shoes so close to the marathon? :confused3 I've read that newer shoes don't really need time to "break in" so hopefully it will be fine.

... So what's everyone wearing on their feet? ...

I have two pairs of Asics 2160's that I got on clearance this past winter/spring. (I've been wearing this line of Asics for awhile.) I've started wearing one of them, and will start with the other at some point and will alternate them. I'll use them throughout my training and will take both with me for Goofy.

Glad you asked this question, it's always interesting to hear what people are wearing. :)

I like hearing too. Never know if something someone else wears might help you too!

I realize not everyone uses Nike + running during their runs, but what is everyone's Powerboost song (or songs)?

Mine are:
- Play from Kingdom Hearts. Makes me think of DS.
- Beautiful People by Chris Brown. The tempo always picks me up and it's one of DD's favorite songs.
