Official WDW Marathon Weekend 2013 Thread-Part 2

Am I the only one who thinks those things are fugly? Everyone on FB is gushing over them. If they had done a Newton or the Kinvara in a print I would have been all over it, Lol.

I love the colors, but not the NB branding, also. I did not like the feel of the 860 the last time I tried them out. Too much motion control not enough cushion

Finally finished my costume! Just in time as we are leaving in the morning. Nothing like procrastination:rolleyes1.
Here it is!

I took the picture with the tights even though they will stay in the suitcase with the heat. The sailor collar took the most time, just finished it this afternoon and I have three burns and a blister to show for it. Everything is on safety pins so I can drop if I start having issues and the buttons will hold on my bib:love:. Can't wait to get a picture with Donald on Sunday!

Super cute!

I LOVE those minnie NB shoes, but I could never run in them. I run in the NB 1190's just discontinued in November.

Awesome!!

Took hubby to the airport and he is on his way. I have to teach tomorrow (darn college kids - lol) so I'll be where he is tomorrow. I'm am so full of mixed emotions right now it's nuts. I'm thinking it's because of the unknown as I'm not worried about the half, just the full.

I am going to think positive and know we will all do great!

I will be leaving first thing thursday morning...good luck everyone! May you cross the finish line of the race or races you are in , injury and pain free!

I don't know if its nerves...but my head feels like a cold is coming on...can't be..must be nerves....

We leave bright and early tomorow morning. Can't wait to get to the World and hit the Expo. I'm hoping these jitters will calm down once I get to my happy place! I'm so excited! Squeel! :dance3:

Ok I am now officially on VACATION!!!

Leaving tomorrow-flight is at 7:15. Should be wheels down by 10:00 at MCO.

Then off to DTD for lunch, then the expo to get all the packets, then to the rental house. One friend is already in FL, the others coming tomorrow afternoon.

:cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1:

Right around mile 20 - 21 there are always unofficial aid stations with people handing out cups of cold beer... What more motivation do you need to get through the teen miles? And what better way to smooth the way home to the finish? :)

At the Houston marathon, our hash group hands out beer at mile 24. We go through a few kegs every year. Lots of thirsty runners.

I'm trying to decide if I should just carry my iPhone, or bring a small camera. Did anyone use a phone for pictures last year? How was the quality before the sun came up?

I love it!! great job!!

I'm pretty sure I'm getting sick. A lot of people around me have colds, and I've been making sure to wash my hands a ton, use hand sanitizer and not touch my face...but I just got in and my throat has that "feeling".

Between getting sick and four injuries, maybe the running gods are trying to tell me not to do the marathon!

I'm feeling defeated. Went to a chiropractor today to have him check out my knee-he thinks I have a tear in my meniscus. Urgh!!! All this training and now I'm not sure I'll be able to finish. Wondering if I should just walk the whole thing (I usually do about 1/2 and 1/2), but then I really risk getting swept. But would my knee start hurting anyway?! Or try to run and get as far as I can in a short amt of time, and then hobble thru the rest??? Needing to vent....

Right there with you. Several coworkers out with bronchitis, boss with no voice, and worse daughter and wife were home sick today.

I also have had that "feeling" but it has been there for about three weeks. My head clears when I run so keeping hydrated, vitamins, lots of OJ...and going for it.

Nice part, starting my vacation two days early to let daughter rest up (and me too).

But frankly, unless I have a fever that is do bad it clouds my vision or get something in my chest that makes me wheeze when I sit at rest...I am going for it. (Even then I will probably still go for it).

It's another mental game. Don't let the mind win!
