Official WDW Marathon Weekend 2013 Thread-Part 2

I submitted a 1/2 time of 1:45:00 for Full Marathon. I was placed in "E". Does that seem right? seeing alot of posts that would make me think I should be higher up. any help would be appreciated. this is my first full and do not want to be put wrong pace with the large amount of runners . Thanks

That seems far back to me. I submitted a 10 miler time of 1:55 and I'm in D.

Sound like tendonitis... though a visit to a doc is in order.

As general note to all, secondary injuries tend to be more debilitating that the primary injuries. The primary injury, generally an overuse injury forces a compensated stride. This in turn creates a more acute secondary injury that can be worse than the initial issue. Hang in there. Listen to the body. Run through discomfort, but stop with pain. For the Seals, Pain may be weakness leaving the body, but 80% of the class never makes the end.

I looked up those symptoms tonight and they match, as does where the pain in coming from. Thanks again for all your help, I'm still trying to be optimistic despite all of this!! I would just be happy to get rid of the foot issues! It's incredible what overdoing it can do to your body.

That being said, don't overdo it everyone! The extra 5 miles I tried to add on the day after my 12 miles was NOT worth it and I regret it every minute.

Cool that you finished a race right on the 1:45:00 mark!! Nice round number.

Anyway, I agree if you've done a 1:45 half you'd be in an earlier corral than E... Strange.

What estimated time did you submit? Based on your proof, yes you should be further up, but if your entry said, say 5:15, then you may be in the correct position.

Best to bring a copy of your race results and head to runners relations at the expo

That definitely doesn't seem right--I submitted 2:38 half and got into D for the full. I forget what I submitted for expected finish time...

dadorzey If you estimated a finish time commensurate with your half time (~3:40), then you should be in A. But if you didn't estimate a time or put a later one, they most likely moved you back--rather silly given your supporting time!

Agree, I am thinking you may have left the field blank or possibly dumb-thumbed the hour. I would head to the fix it desk

thanks everyone. I would have to believe it was a entry error on my part for overall finishing time. thanks for informing me that it should be able to be fixed on site @ expo. If not i guess i have alot of bobbing and weaving to do!!!!

Why did I not get my corral placement?? When did you all get yours and how? Thanks!

I just looked at the waivers for the half and my number is over 45,000!!! I submitted a time; does this mean I am at the end?

run Disney web site, click runner info, select waiver and click print.

then you can find your bib number in coral placement link under runner info tab on run disney

Still confused. Found my bib number but no corral placement. Does that mean I did not get one if it is not on the waiver? Thanks!

Congrats on the run. That is a great mental and physical milestone.

rocio You and I are in the same boat. I am going to try and do 20 next weekend. That would be a big comeback from a 3 month layoff--my last 20 miler was in August. Good luck!

Maura

Let's do this thing! :cheer2: I'm going to try to go on Saturday next weekend but it will depend on weather a bit. I can go Sunday too. We'll keep each other posted. I'm thinking there will be a few 20-23 mile runs next weekend.

You guys CAN do it. I just thought of it in 5 mile increments and kept resetting my garmin for each set of 5... It was like I wasn't running as far! Plus slowing down helped me get through it without re-hurting anything... the whole way home I sang taper time to the tune of hammer time in my head and had a huge smile on my face. Then I realized that taper time means it's almost race time and then I found my Magical Express tickets in my mailbox... then I had a mini freakout.

Thanks! I will have to remember TAPER TIME! That's the kind of thing I would do. Can't wait to sing it :)

Dang...

Delayed enough today. Hoping that the rain would just slide by... now we have a little lightning in the area. 3 hours on the treadmill... here we come

Good luck to everyone doing long runs today! :goodvibes

My bib # for the half is 52179 -- F corral.

Thanks, Liz, for keeping track of us all! :flower3:

Wondering if anyone at Planet Fitness would mind me on a treadmill for three hours.
