how long after ap rates does it typically take for genereal public discounts to come out?

I am wondering the same thing, just called but the cm didn't even know what I was talking about!! I think the good people on this board have MUCH more knowledge than most at the travel co!

I've been holding out to reserve something for 8/17 to 8/22...called first thing this am and got right through. Had no problem booking BC with AP discount for my dates (which was my first resort choice)! Got a standard view room for $244/night...I'm ready to go now!

Its usually a few days after I try to see what I can find from last yrs. When they do release them it may be slim pickings as most of the rooms are already filled unless for some magical reason they open more up.
Last yr it was a wk later so I'm thinking it will open up June 25th.

I had CSR booked for our stay in Aug. with a AAA rate, it was not available with the AP rate. So I now have POR booked with the AP rate for Aug. 5th -16th. This is a savings of $250 over AAA

I have never stayed here before & I am planning on not telling the boys I switched(still think we are staying at PC), I will surprise them!

I might keep calling to see if anything else opens up, but at least I have my foot in the door now

I swear I have never felt so unorganized about a Disney trip as I do with this one

I ended up doing a split stay. A few days at CSR and a few days at Assp. If either one opens up for my entire stay I'll just switch to one of those the entire time.
DH arrured me for our next trip in Nov/Dec we can stay at a mod/deluxe for our entire stay.
This was just suppose to be a quick BUDGET trip with the girls and has turned into 11 nites trip and more $$ than I was planning on spending. But hey its Disney

Kinda bummed. My reservation is in two parts at the moment - 8/8 to 8/10 and then 8/10 to 8/16. I was really hoping I'd be able to get a continuous reservation when the AP rates come out. No luck. I don't want to worry about having to deal with checkin/out mid-week. I've got an awesome rate, but it's just another thing to worry about.

AP site doesn't have new rates loaded yet. Called CM and she helped book Poly from 8/3-10 @$259. More than last year as well as last time block for AP rates, but much better than $340! Kids will be happy!

I added three nights before our DVC stay----YC standard for $244, Aug 14-17. Our youngest will freak when she finds out we'll be back at Stormalong Bay!

How can I check availabilty for AP rates? If I can get a room, I will buy an AP since I going again in February. But.... Since I don't currently have an AP I don't know how to go about checking availability. Help...

Wow, you are so kind. Thank you for the offer. I actually just called and they had POR available so I booked it. Now I just have to get the pass. And talk my parents into going with me and my 2 kids....
