Official Tinker Bell Half Marathon Check-In ** May 5-8, 2016 ** 5th Anniversary

Daughter and I are looking at Tink & Periwinkle for the 10k - probably with sparkle skirts if we can get them ordered in time. I'm thinking of a subtle Minnie for the half. We want to wear Tutu's for the 5k, but haven't decided on a theme yet!

Since its the 5th Anniversary......For the 1/2 I might break out my light up Tink wings. It's been a couple of years since I ran with them. But first I need to find the "safe place" I put them.

For the family 5K....hoping DH will consider Cpt Hook or Smeed, the mousekeeter as Peter Pan, I'll wear the Tink wings. I am NOT creative with running costumes so I have NO idea how to do Hook or Smeed.
For Hook, you could do a red running shirt, black shorts and a black running hat. For the hook, you could check Halloween sites, they might have a hook really cheap and then check out Michael's and get some feathers to stick in the hat. For Smeed, check out Target or Old Navy. I've found blue and white striped shirts there. They'd be cotton, but for a 5k, I've never had any problems. For the bottoms, if he has blue shorts that'd work and a cheap red beanie and you good. :goodvibes

For the half, I am sticking with the tinkerbell color scheme -- re-using my green sparkle skirt and getting a new tank top, unsure of wings or not! it will depending on if I can find any at the dollar store!
That's how I doing it for the 1/2 too! Depending on how warm, maybe my Tink ears over my green visor. Are the wings at the dollar store kind you can pin on or wear around your arms and back?

If you're worried about shipping them on time, watch their website. Forget if it's sparkle skirts or sparkle athletic, but they usually have a preorder and you can pick it up at the expo. Did that last year for my Hook visor and it was super easy and you save on the shipping.

If anyone's flying SWA, check out your flights. My Sun flight home was $10 cheaper today. Still out of LAX instead of SNA, but saves me some points.

No worries! :goodvibes Definitely makes it easier since I did the same thing for my costumes. ;) You might want to keep an eye out on Raw Threads a little closer to race weekend too, b/c they used to sell the Hook shirt in men's but it's not on their site now. They might add it when we get closer.

I might need to pick your brain a little over the summer about the D23 membership. I'm thinking I might sign up for it and head down for the expo next year.

Not sure what I'm gonna do. Whatever it is, I think it will require at least a new sparkle skirt!

Raw Threads for the hook shirt----great idea. Still trying to twist his arm on this costume thing anyway.

No problem...PM me if you want about the membership and expo. Expo......OH the LINES and chaos. But I would like to go for one day again, just to look and shop.

Well! I got a good two weeks of training in before getting into a car accident! I swear I have the worst luck whenever I decide to start training.

Hope everyone else has been doing alright!

Oh no! Hope you're doing okay!

I know this isn't a "running" topic, well maybe if we count it as fuel ;)

Now that we're within the 60 days out, anyone have any ADR suggestions? WDW is so cutthroat with them and waiting until 60 days to get them at DLR has been hard haha but I still find that I don't know what to pick! Thanks guys !

Steakhouse 55 (Disneyland Hotel) breakfast is amazing - the french toast is to die for and the perfect pre-race carb free-for-all. As is the Carnation Cafe breakfast - you're on main street and can watch all the cute little ones arriving into the park all excited and dressed up!

Obviously Blue Bayou for the ambiance though the food leaves much to be desired.

In California Adventure, I adore Wine Country - especially for the World of Color dining package. But there's also a really good salad and pasta place in the restaurant near California Screaming (Boardwalk Pizza).

I'm not a fan of the character meals at Disneyland. So I tend to avoid them like the plague. If you want the freshest treats from a candy counter, go back to Pooh Corner in Disneyland. Freshest cake pops and sweets :)

EDIT: I ALMOST FORGOT CATAL IN DOWNTOWN DISNEY - SORRY!. You need to eat here for a dinner meal. Everything on the menu is superb. Lots of protein and makes for a great recovery meal after a race.

we have reservations at Naples Saturday night - it pre-race tradition
then will book at wine country for Mother's Day dinner Sunday night

Thank you @courtneybeth ! I was thinking Carnation Cafe at least once (I like the location and the price!), Wine Country sounds awesome!! Can you tell me anything about the World of Color and / or Paint the Night shows? I see there are meals for each with priority seating available...and I'm struggling to figure out the difference

I think if I'd never been to/ lived near New Orleans I'd be all over Blue Bayou but I've heard that the food isn't...the most awesome thing ever, don't want to spend my time there haha. SO looking forward to Pooh's Corner woohoo! I might have to hit up Catal for supper on the first (expo) night! Thank you thank you so much!!

So, I know at one point and for some races they've done "pasta in the park" right? I never did see anything added back in for that for this race :(
Naples sounds awesome, I'll have to try and snag that for Friday!! Thank you so much everyone

The World of Color show is the one in California Adventure around the lake and they screen projections of movies. Right now it's the Walt Disney story featuring NPH and Mickey Mouse. It's cute - and the dinner package puts you in a great section. Wine Country's menu is better for the dining package than the regular menu - so it's worth it.

(Someone else mentioned Carthay Circle and I'm not a fan -- over priced and not terribly great IMO. Great ambiance, but on par with Blue Bayou).

Paint the Night is the new version of the Main Street Electrical Parade -- I wouldn't do the dining package with this. (Too pricey for the cost of what you get). You could easily see the late parade. If you sit on a curb near the fire station, it comes from the front of main street back towards small world - so once the parade is done, you can get up and walk out of the park before the huge crowds follow :)
