Official Thread For Upcoming Eastern Canadian Cruises

I found a map that shows many of the shipping routes around Nova Scotia. they are quite far out. Whether they can use closer to the coast routes I will have to dig and find out.

I also found this link for Halifax.

I do know two things about the Bay of Fundy, the first is the Fog that can surround your ship at times....lots of times, white all around and blue sky above, it is neat. The second is that there are restricted routes in the Bay to protect the whales.

I would imagine that there will be several tours to Peggy's Cove, Lunenburg and a few other fishing villages in New brunswick that will allow you to see lighthouses. Hopefully a few covered bridges as well.

I e-mailed disney, and they replied that the route they show on the cruise web page is fairly accurate. So to me it looks like you will be close to a few light houses and not to others.

The chances are good that you might see Light houses on Brier island as you enter the Bay of Fundy, they would be on the starboard side. As you cruise closer to Halifax you should see the coast on the Port side fairly well, and really well starboard as you leave for Saint John

Haven't posted much on this site- have been on the August 5 site- those of you going then check that site. Someone is trying to start a Fish extender gift exchange. It is a fun activity for adults and kids. We will be doing a BTB with the Nassau one before this one. Figured we don't know if Disney will come back to NY and it saves us airfare.

We are doing the same thing but different dates...we are doing Canada July 17 and Bahamas July 22 b2b.

Thanks for the link, that was some great reading about Arnold. I never knew he had such a strong association with Saint John. I only associated him with Quebec, since he led the expedition to invade Canada there.

Coincidentally, I was a camp follower in Arnold's expedition in '75. Well, it was a re-enactor playing the part of Arnold and it was the 1975 bicentennial. The reception we received was much nicer than the original expedition, I think :)

I don't know why I hadn't thought of it before, but as you point out, we might just get to do some whale watching. It seems that there are two great spots where the whales like to play that are on or near our route!

The approach to Saint John you mentioned:

And just south of Nova Scotia:

Great info!!! I hadn't thought about the whale watching aspect::sail:! Just hope that the famous fog doesn't block our views...

It needs space to put peoples names on it, I am just wondering if there is a non -copywrited picture of an inkwell and quill that could be added, or maybe a pirate treasure chest?

Ok, yes I should be doing something constructive, but I couldn't resist!

Maybe one of the Port Adventures will be sweeping these areas with metal detectors. They will provide the detectors and the headphones will be Mickey Mouse Ears.:laughing:

For anyone who is wondering what the hay these nutcases:dance3: are talking about - hidden pirate treasurepirate:in Nova Scotia, metal detectors, happy DCLers getting rich and taking BTBTBTBTBTBTBTBTBTBTBTB cruises on DCL!!!!
