Thats great to hear and exactly what I hoped this thread would do. Welcome!

I and two friends are on the June 10th 5-day b2b with the June 15th 2-day. Hope to see you all on the Meets for these trips. Not much action there. Maybe everyone is on facebook. I really appreciate the info here. Thanks again.

What a teaser! I had an e-mail in my inbox this morning from DCL telling me that "Adventure awaits you at every port of call" -- and I got all excited:yay: that the port adventures for Eastern Canada must be up, but NOT:sad2:. Maybe later today? Anyone else find out anything? Hope this is a good sign:wizard:!

I got the same email. *sigh*

I called a couple days ago and the CM tapped away at his computer for a bit, put me on hold to talk to a supervisor and basically told me they don't know when the port excursions will be released. He did say they would be out 120 days before the cruise, which should be in a week or so for the first Canadian cruise, right?

Yep...same email....same rapid clicking to get to the DCL website....same disappointment:lmao:..

Since DCL has been so slow in getting out the excursion info, these cruises may not be selling well? :confused3 Wondering if there will be discounted rates coming out?

Same excitement followed by disappointment here. I was  when I got the email and then was :confused3 by the lack of information. Sigh... :sad2:

Noticed you're on the June 17th cruise:yay:! Have you seen the cruise meet thread?

I got that email last week, and was all excited too. I guess we'll just have to wait a while longer!

Just a note for everyone. When I click on the city, it only listed a few that I wasn't overly excited about, but then when you click on one, there is a lot on the right side listed....and I've only looked at Halifax so far, but I see several that we might would actually want to do. I'm going to print them out and let my daughter start looking over them tonight....

Now to look at St. John....

I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Tidal Bore Rafting in Halifax. It was the most fun I've ever had!! Absolutely incredible experience and definitely worth it. (It's also very safe.) Most of the City you can walk around in a few hours, so get a tourist map from the pier and you'll be all set. The Public Gardens are stunning!! The Maritime museum is fun. The farmer's market at the pier is quite nice to explore and grab a bite to eat as well.

People in Eastern Canada are exceptionally friendly, so never hesitate to stop a local to ask questions, directions, or even recommendations! In fact, stopping to say hello to complete strangers is very common. Don't be closed off or offended - these people are very friendly!

I added that one as a Favorite. They suggested wearing dark clothing, because of the iron staining clothes. Did you also wear rain gear? We are going in Sept. I hope it won't be too cool.

Rain gear is not required, although the place I went had some available for colder days. You will be thoroughly soaked from head to toe; you'll have mud in placed you'd never thought of. And yes, everything from your shirt to your underwear will be permanently stained from the iron in the water. Definitely wear long shorts - bathing suit bottoms won't protect your backside from the chafing of your bottom rubbing against the boat as you bump up and down. Trust me on that... saw a few red legs when we got off. If you have glasses, you must leave them at the boat house or have a tight strap to keep them on your face - the place we went to had string you could tie your glasses onto your face. We went in the highest tides, so it was pretty rough and yet everyone in our boat, even the ones who were a little scared, were laughing themselves silly.

The place I went to (different from the one in the photos), also had the best hot showers afterwards - the water was very hot and stayed hot for all 60 of us. So when everyone was shivering we were all warm very quick afterwards. Mmm... hot shower...

Oh, and beware... the mud gets into all the working buttons on your camera too, even the waterproof ones, so if yours has crevasses or visible moving parts leave it at the boat house. Honestly, you will be sloshing around so much most of the photos won't turn out anyway. (I had a lot of photos of muddy water flying everywhere... the only good photo I had was when we were heading back to the boat house.) If you have a waterproof digital camera you don't really care about, feel free to bring it. Otherwise, I recommend disposable waterproof cameras for this one, just in case it gets ruined.

Hi All

Im very excited to be posting here, we just put a deposit to cruise Canada aboard the Magic last week.

I have never been to Canada and I am so looking forward to the cruise.

I am from South Florida, so we don't really have "seasons". So we booked the last cruise out in September hoping to see the foliage.

I will be following this thread closely. :good vibes
