Official thread for the 2010 Princess 1/2 Marathon & 5k- REGSITRATION IS OPEN!

GOOD LUCK TOMORROW!

I'm sad I can't be there, but I'll be running on the treadmill in my pink shorts thinking about Disney!

Just wanted to let you know that your goodie bag, bib, and pin are safe at Caribbean Beach Resort! The pin is in the outside zipper pocket of the goodie bag. Sorry you couldn't make the race but hopefully your race stuff will make up for it!

Have a safe trip and have fun!!!

Back from the half and all I have to say is it was AWESOME!!! I am so glad that I chose the Princess Half to be my first half marathon. Loved it, well most of it. I could do without the long bus wait, cold, and being up at 3am but everything else was wonderful! Special thanks to my running buddy UGAFan0829 (Missy)! It was a first marathon for both of us and we had a blast together. I am off to bed so I can get up early and go on an all day field trip with my DD and her 2nd grade class. That may be more work then the half!! lol

Congrats to everyone and hope everyone had a "magical" time!!!princess:

P.S. Love the medal!!! It's a gold color with clear bling. If no one posts a pic I will try to sometime tomorrow.

Hope everyone had a great time!

? I knew I would have some blisters.... But is it normal, or from the smashing action my foot got... just one toe bled, and it was alot and did it again after I got to the hotel and cleaned it all up and changed socks....?

Congrulations to all the princess: .

Sorry I missed the meet, we had to work on my chair, did not work though I did the whole race with my disk brake stuck on.

There where 3 cranks and I won in 1:10:06

Syko, congratulations! Sorry you had some equipment trouble. I saw you two times yesterday! The first was when I arrived at the Epcot parking lot at the drop-off point. I saw you go by and knew it was you because of your name on your chair. I would have said hell but I was on an one-way fast track to the porta-potties, ha ha. Then I saw you whizzing by at the point where the late starters can see the early finishers, around 10 or 11 I think? You can spot your sparkly helmet a mile away!

Anyway, just wanted to let you know I didn't get to say HI but I saw you in your sweet ride!

Hi everyone!

Yesterday was so much fun! I was so excited to be a part of the race and to finish! My DH also wins his own medal for being the superstar dad to take care of my three little boys in a tiny camper so I could do the race (and drive me to the start with all three boys in the car)... but that's another story. I'll write a race report later!

Congrats to everyone who finished... and everyone who started... what a blast!

Dave Is they any way that I can get a copy of that photo of me crossing the finish line form your blog?

Hey everyone! Hope you all had a blast at the race! I thought it was so awesome! We had a great time! Finished in 1:55! Now we're sitting at the airport waiting to head home :-(. Must say it was so fun to see so many people in the spirit...wearing their tiaras and medals/shirts around!

My DDs and I all finished, and we were all below our goal times. This being our first 1/2 Marathon, we weren't quite sure what to expect and "under"-estimated ourselves!

We're hooked and hope to be there in 2011!

My DH and I are finally home after an amazing, amazing weekend! I can't even begin to describe all the emotions that I felt on raceday! It was a wonderful experience that I can't wait to do again! I had a great, great time with Shawna (momto2littlemonsters) who was a fantastic running partner! I am still amazed that I actually went 13.1 miles and got a medal!

The meet on Saturday was great as well, and it was very cool to put faces with some of the names here on the DIS.

I guess it's back to reality now!! Congrats to all my fellow Princesses!!princess:

The race was so much fun!! :D It was super cold in the beginning, waiting in the corral for an hour and a half wasn't the most fun, but talking to all the different ladies with so many different reasons for doing the race was awesome! I wore my long sleeve princess in training shirt, gloves and capri's which made the temps more tolerable. I didn't warm up until Mile 10! I did so much better than I thought I would, but slowed down a bit because I must have overhydrated myself and needed to stop a few times. Luckily I didn't get sick or have the RD that some must have had. The lines were long for the porta potties and as the distance went on they got more and more disgusting. :( For the Disneyland Half, I really need to work on not needing to take as many breaks or none preferably. There were quite a few ladies that had no qualms with going by the side of the road but I couldn't bring myself to do that. It is Disney after all! I love the medal and wasn't sore until we drove back to Atlanta. Now, my legs and one of my hips is a bit sore but I am sure the two week break from running will help that.

I am definitely going to do the race again next year. Great Job Everyone! :cheer2:

My girls and I had a magical time at this race! We were freezing at the beginning, but one of my running partners managed to score us some mylar from a tent - no idea how she did it! Our time was WAY over what we had hoped because we were having too much FUN chatting it up and posing for pictures. :) We're doing another half this Sunday and will definitely all set personal records after our super slow Princess time. The bar is definitely set low.

Running up Main Street USA and crossing the finish line were dreams come true for me - this race has been my goal since I began running in January 2009. The whole experience was just amazing!

I finished! I was able to go 2:31:10 including stopping for pictures; but I really didn't have to wait at all for the photos. I had so much fun. I think next time I do this I will have to wear warmer clothes for the start!
