Official thread for the 2010 Princess 1/2 Marathon & 5k- REGSITRATION IS OPEN!

So maybe it is based first on your estimated finish time and then on when you registered. Of course if you didn't provide proof of time, then you may still end up with a higher number than someone with the same estimated time who did provide proof of time.

I can't remember what time I gave, but I think it was some time around 3 hours.

I printed my waiver... bib number is 2079 and I estimated my time at 2:17. My princess is Belle and I live in Chicago...for whatever formula's people are guessing at ;)

Not to ruin that idea, but my mom is only 3 numbers away from me and she is Aurora and I am Cinderella.

Anyone run really fast or get a really low number. Liz what did you say your time was? Wondering if 800 is because you aren't slow like me.:)

Oops, sorry if I messed up anyone's theories. My bib number 800 is for the 5K, maybe one day I'll do the 1/2, but since this is my first ever race after finally take care of my health/weight, I was just so excited and wanted to join in the bib # posting fun?!

I added a bib list to my first post on the thread (Post #3). We're updated to here.

(sorry OP, I'm bored and impatient. If you copy it into your own post I'll change mine back!)

I printed my waiver now. I registered in mid-December with a projected 2:30 finish and I got bib # 11,560! Big number! But 11 is my lucky number and there are two 11's there if you add the 5 and the 6 together... so that is fine with me! I was born on the 11th, so was my husband, and one of my boys.

It seems like there is no rhyme or reason to the bib numbers??? No worries.

Been away from the discussion too long! Just got back from 5 weeks in South Carolina. While down South, did the Disney Half Marathon with my daughter. There is nothing like waiting around for a race to start with snow and sleet falling on you. Yes, that was in sunny Florida. When the sleet stopped, then the rain started and the temperatures started falling. I thought the costumes for the Princess half marathon last year were fun to see, but they paled in comparison to what people were wearing for the Donald half marathon. We had on: running tights, warm up pants, silk undershirts, long sleeved tech shirts, sweatshirts, nylon shells, coats, plastic bags, blankets, towels, hats, and gloves!! Welcome to sunny Florida! It was a great experience though. I did manage to take five minutes off my time from the Princess, even with the bad weather (and wardrobe) conditions.

I kept up my training in South Carolina. I am back up to 9 miles. I have tried to do a little more running. My pace is up to around a 15 minute mile. With all the snow that we got here in Cincinnati today, I guess I will be changing my training over to the indoor track. I am so looking forward to coming back for another half marathon. (I can't believe that I, of all the athletically challenged people I know) actually am looking forward to a half marathon. The lesson is, if I can do it, so can the rest of you. Keep on going!!

Just printed mine and I'm 8400! Easy enough to remember. Does the number have anything to do with what corral you'll start in? Getting really excited!!!!

I just talked my mom through printing her waiver her number is 8563 :)
She is a little worried about finishing, as she is snowed in and can't go running...

Waviers out :scared1: Time I got on the phone and do my paper work.

I have a spot in the race but i'm entering through Spira, so I need to get my forms from them.

Your number is linked to you corral for the 1/2, the higher the number the later you start.
For the 5K it makes no difference, as there will not be any corrals, just line up according to you pace time on the signs.

did anyone else see the official race tiara in the email we received today? it says it will be on sale at the expo in limited quantities. does anyone know if it is available to buy now?!

My bib # is 703 for the half (I signed up in Oct for projected 2hr finish based on a 2:01 finish at my last half.) Not sure if that will happen now with winter training in Maine but who knows? I also am jogging the 5K with my niece and my bib # is 3197 - I just signed up this weekend. No matter what happens I am super excited as this is my first Disney race and planning mostly to have fun and stop for all the characters! Hope everyone's training is going well - I felt like I ran a marathon this weekend even though it was only 11 miles - I'm still trying to thaw out.

Aw geesh, I just saw the post that another email was sent out today and I still didn't get it. I don't know what I have to do to get them to put me on the list - I have called and emailed so many times. Can someone post it for those of us that aren't STILL getting them.

Thanks

Team In Training Participants Take On Half Marathon to Honor Young Daughter’s Battle with Lymphoma
Marta Blanco, of South Florida is looking forward to taking on the Disney Princess Half Marathon in March as a member of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Team In Training program, as a way to celebrate her 10-year-old daughter, Sofia’s survival of non-Hodgkin lymphoma. Sofia was diagnosed in December 2003 when she was four years old. Her cancer was very aggressive and she came very close to losing her battle. But her body responded well to the chemotherapy and she finished her treatment in December 2004.

Hello Everyone!

It's been way too long since I've been on the Boards. Life has just been nuts between the holidays, running, vacations, and preparing to move in April. Needless to say, my running is not where I wanted it to be a month before the race, but what can you do?

My 'coach'/trainer/running partner/neighbor, had a baby several months ago so my 'training' has gone out the window. The weather here has been terrible so I've done a lot of training on the treadmill. I've been doing a 8 min run/1 min walk combo, and it's been working well for me. I know I'm not the type to run, run, run for 13 miles so the run/walk combo is best for me!

So far, the longest I've gone is 7.5 miles outside, and that was doing 5 run/1 walk. I felt pretty good after that so I was very hopeful, but this past week the weather here has been cold and raining which doesn't allow for much running outside. Last week, while running on the treadmill, my knee started giving me a lot of problems (locking up) so I've been laying off the past few days and trying to run outside weather permitting.

Well, I will quit my rambling, but I just wanted to stop by and say hello! I do have to say that the WISH motto is keeping me going! At least I am signed up and I am going to run. Even if I walk more than I planned, I will still finish!

By the way, I may have missed it, but was there any discussion on here about WDW canceling the After Party? Not too sure how I feel about this. I wasn't planning to party the night away there, but I do think it was a bit misleading since we all assumed there would be an after party which would be included in the race registration!

Happy Running/Walking, Princesses!

The party has never been included in the Princess entry fee.
I think the only one that did was TOT?
