Hi, fellow princesses!
I just wanted to check in and say hello.
My training is going okay. I know some of you may laugh at this, but I was very proud of myself during our last training session...I was able to run for a full 3 minutes. I know that's nothing compared to what most of you are doing, but it's a huge step for me!
For all you skirt-lovers--tell me more! I actually went to Target a couple of weeks ago and bought a pair of running shorts. They were okay, but they kept riding up, and they were already a little shorter than I preferred. So then I started wearing my DH's shorts. (They acutally look more like basketball shorts.) They work a little better since they're longer, but they still ride up as well and they're hot even though they're suppose to have the moisture wicking stuff. I would love to find something a little more "girlie" yet comfortable to run in.
Caitsmama, Thank you for the reply about bringing kids. Here is a little more information for anyone who can help.
This is all very new to me, I'm just in the 3rd week of C25k and loving it! I have 4 boys 16,13,10, and 6. The older 2 are going to do the TOT in October with me (trying to help Mom get in shape) and after reading so much about the Princess I would really love to make that the next goal. The question is should I take the boys or not? 3 of them would have to miss a day of school and I really didn't know how much they would enjoy it. You know, is it all girlie with no boys allowed? Is it more of a ladies weekend thing or a family affair? How tired will I be? Having never been to any kind of race I am clueless as what to expect and I need to make reservations this week if I'm really serious.
Thank you to everyone who has read this far. And Caitsmama, way to go with your daughter, I wish I had started this when my boys were little.

The shirt size was small....I take a M and had to go to XL to get my arms in, but the rest of the shirt is too big for me.
At the expo last year you could change your shirt if you needed too, I hope they do that in 2010.

Do most of you take your kids with you to the Princess or is this a "Ladies" weekend sort of thing? I'm at the end of the 2nd wk of the c25k and am looking forward to the Tower of Terror 5k with my kids. I sure hope we'll be ready. We've never done anything like this before and as soon as I discovered Disney held these races a light bulb went off....exercise, family time, Disney....so here I am wondering if the Princess half is out of the question. I may be jumping the gun but that is usually the case when it comes to Disney.

I'm really hoping that I'll be able to run in the Princess half, but have to wait until my DH knows his work/school schedule before we make a commitment. Did the half sell out last year? I'm wondering how much time I have before I'd be cutting it close to register. Thanks!
Last year I think they said it sold out, but that was only because they reduced the number of participants. Not sure if that makes sense the way I wrote it... In other words, they originally were planning to accept 10,000 runners, but when they hit 7,500 they closed the race and said they were sold out.
I'd say you still have plenty of time, the race hasn't even reached 50% full yet. (Once it reaches 50%, Disney will start to post updates on the registration page of the event website.)
