** OFFICIAL Survivor: Cook Islands Thread ** ‘Survivor’s’ new racial divide

If Jonathan was smart and didn't want to betray the tribe couldn't he have told his tribe about the idol and voted to kick off one of the girls. The idol only would have been played up against Yul. Yul was lucky it played out as it did.

I hope Yul wins it all.

--
Jonathan could have told Raro about Yul, but then what would have stopped them from voting Jonathan off, or still voting for Yul to force the idol into play, thus still voting off Jonathan. They have made it pretty clear to him that he was on the low end of their tribe...and at this point in the game you want to vote out the strong people, so if Yul and Ozzy were out then Jonathan was looking good.

I think Jonathan made the only move he could to stay out there longer.

Add me to the list hoping for Yul to win it all.
Hes smart and hes playing with honesty and intequrity(SP?)
And I also think hes kinda handsome. LOL

I think he's cute too!
BTW Deb, you need to change your tags!!

Agh!! Adam just annoys me soo bad!!

At every challenge all he does is ~w~h~i~n~e~...... whine, whine, whine :headache:

From two shows ago:

I thought it was so interesting how the Raro tribe picked which players played what.

They know that whoever sits out in the reward challenge has to compete in the immunit challenge, so why would they sit Rebecca out and force her to compete in the immunity challenge if she "doesn't contribute in challenges"??? If she had competed instead of Adam, Adam could have been in the immunity challenge also.

Don't get me wrong.... I LOVE Aitu, but it goes to show me how dumb Raro is playing.

I feel bad for Jonathan, b/c he seems like the only member of Raro that actually cheers his teammates on, and doesn't complain about them

Jonathon will be the perfect person to take to the final two in that everyone hates him. After the other three members of his team are eliminated, he is going to need to win some immunity challenges.

Does everyone think if it came down to it, Yul would bring Jonathan into the final two instead of Becky? In past shows, the alliance and friendship always won out over the logical choice. Yul SHOULD take Jonathan, but I don't think he will. I think if it was Ozzie or Sundra, maybe, but not Becky.

They need to break up Adam and Candace next by getting rid of Adam, who is the toughest Raro competitor left. If that happens, I do see a final four of Aitu.

followed by Pavaratti.

I had to laugh at this typo. I bet if Pavarotti was on the island, they wouldn't vote him off so quickly :rotfl2:

Yul told Jonathan he wanted to take him to the final 2. Now I know he is close with Becky but he is a smart guy. He even told Jonathan that he knew he had a better chance winning against him since some of the others had no enemies.

I think this was Yul's way of convincing Jonathan to side with Aitu. Notice, he told him he wants to be in a final 2 with him, not that he will take him. I just don't see Yul keeping Jonathan around longer than his 3 Aitu teammates.

It might be a better strategic move to go to the final 2 with Jonathan, but I don't think Yul will do it. He seems to have too much loyalty to and respect in his alliance partners.

I think Jonathon does need to understand, now, though, that he's playing for $100K, not for $1M.

No way...he's perceived as a true player of the game and that's often rewarded in the end - especially if he's in the final 2 against one of the quieter "follower" players.

It's so funny how so many of us think alike :thumbsup2
I like Yul and Ozzy and would be very happy if either of them won the whole thing. My favorite girl is Pavarti. I didn't like her at first, but I really do now. She is fun, strong and seems to really want to be a true friend to many of the others. In the beginning I really liked Candace - and she is still a very strong player. I cannot stand her now. I want her and Adam gone ASAP! I really thought they would have chosen Adam instead of Nate, I was excited when he and Ozzy were becoming close. I don't think Sundra & Becky have done as much as Ozzy & Yul, sorry :confused3

Next week should be very interesting, indeed.

Becky is the puzzlemaster. Every challenge she is front & center while her team gathers round to watch.

A classic example is Richard Hatch who really played everyone off against each other. He was rewarded for such efforts. Here, I do not think that Adam, Nate, Candice or Pavarti will be forgiving and will not appreciate the gamesmanship.

One thing I love about Survivor is the "you just never know what'll happen next" aspect.

Remember the season with Twyla in it? I think she only got 2 votes; 1 from the woman who she was friendly with throughout the game (Scout, I think her name was), and the other was from someone who, during the game, couldn't stand her!

As much as I hate to say this, I have a very strong feeling that Jonathan might just win this. One reason for saying this is because they've been showing MUCH more of him, behind the scenes, than of anyone else, and traditionally when looking at past seasons, they've always featured the winners MUCH more than the other players, during each episode.

They're showing a lot of Yul behind the scenes, but much more of Jonathan.

One thing's for sure, this season has had some of the most interesting twists to it! popcorn::

I agree. Anyone who goes with Jonathan to final 2 is pretty much a shoo in.

Ugh, I agree. I liked both of them at first, but the two of them together make me :crazy2: :crazy2:

On the other side, I could not stand Ozzy at first, but now I like him. He's awesome at the challenges!! I also like Becky and Yul.

Beyond that, Hatch went up against Kelly Wigglesworth, who didn't make many friends either. Truly a Rats and Snakes choice for the jury. With Jonathon, no one other than Candace holds the promise of such a choice.

One reason that Jonathon has been on a great deal is that he is far more interesting than some of the other contestants and more into the gamesmanship of the show. Jonathon is actually thinking about his moves and that makes for more interesting interviews.

I can see Jonathon and Yul making it to the final two. Yul should win in that Jonathon is going to have a number of people who will vote against him without regard to who is in the final two.

No matter how Jonathan looks at it, he is the 5th wheel. He won't make it beyond 5th place, unless he wins immunity.

Raro has an alliance of 4 that seems to be unbreakable, and Aitu, the bond those 4 formed after the "mutiny" is incredible.

I don't see anyone sacrificing somebody else to keep Jonathan around any more than he is needed.

I totally agree with this. I even remarked to my DH, several weeks ago, that the shows have been consisting mainly of the challenges, and not much of life at each camp/beach. I think it's because none of them, other than Jonathan and a few others' comments here and there, have anything interesting to say. LOL

However, it's gotten VERY interesting in the last few weeks!!! :teeth:

They would be smart to keep him around. Anyone who takes him to the final 2 is going to be a millionaire. He has betrayed everyone there atleast once. Whereas Aitu hasnt made any enemies.
