Official Star Wars Weekends 2014 Tips and Tricks

I am sure someone here will chime in shortly with an approximate date of the announcement, but I would think you can bank on at least the last 2 weekends in May and the first 2 weekends in June. I think they have added one or two extras this year, but the 4 mentioned above have remained pretty constant over the past several years.

Thank you!

Thank you!!! :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 That was the character I was looking for! We just watched return of the jedi yesterday and i was pretty sure that was it! :)
Here's a pictures from last year:
When are dates for SWW officially announced? We won't be able to make it this year but are definitely planning a visit one weekend in 2015. Thanks!

The dates have been announced anywhere from December to February, in the past couple of years they have been announced in December, but before that it was closer to February

I caught the last weekend of the Star Wars:Where Science Meets Imagination exhibit in San Jose. It was fun to see the costumes and props!

I'm now 5 days away from being able to set up FP+. We're leaving some days unscheduled for now, but I know which day I'll be there for SWW so I need to get a game plan for that day! I think it will be the most tightly scheduled day of the entire trip!

Considering that the new movie is scheduled to be released in 2015, I'm gonna guess that SWW is going to be big next year (or bigger I guess is more accurate, lol). I wonder if they'll have more dates?

Have a read of the first post of this thread, there are some tips that will help you...I think the most important is not to over schedule, leave plenty of wiggle room and have a plan B, C,D...

I gore its big in 2015, however, Celebration Anaheim is in April 2015 and that's going to be a HUGE Star Wars event.

Are the Disney character statues really gonna be $200 in the park, or are the inflating the price for ebay to make a profit?

We buy a statue each visit and they are normally $200. Larger ones sometimes are a bit more.

ITA with this. The character schedules are not set in stone, and if you cement yourself into doing A, then B, then C...you're going to end up disappointed and missing things. The best to hope for is knowing the character locations and the general times for characters. I had an Excel spreadsheet with every character and a grid with time increments in 5 minute periods, showing when the characters were out. Now, it did help us come up with a plan, but things do change from weekend to weekend, so it wasn't entirely accurate. Plus, there was a major weather event that threw everything off anyway. We ended up meeting almost everyone we wanted to (C3PO, R2D2, and Princess Leia excluded), but our Padawan Mind Challenge got cancelled because of the rain, as did Hyperspace Hoopla, which we missed our first day because the kids were exhausted and we tapped out early. We still had a great time and I look back on that trip with great fondness, but had we not been flexible it would have been a disaster.

Oh God, Luke has always been my favorite. I was a massive Star Wars fan as a teen (and totally in love with Luke Skywalker) and I still am, though not as rabid as in those days.

I was hoping he WOULDN'T be there on my weekend so I wouldn't have the complication. But sure enough, he is. I don't even know what to do now. I can't ignore the fact that Luke Skywalker is going to be there. I was only going to visit Friday evening and maybe catch the parade and fireworks.

Hnng. I am so conflicted now.

I'm both disappointed and relieved that he won't be there for our weekend.

Thanks!!!!!
Now know where they will be at?

They will be launched from behind the hat, best spot for them is anywhere on Hollywood boulevard from the tip board to the front entrance

So glad MH is not doing autographs - no need to camp out. But will probably want to see his show.

Me and both DS16 and DS13 are going without DW. It'll be a great experience for them. Last time we've been to SWW was in 2000. We had no idea it was SWW actually - we were even staying off site back then. It was prior to DS16 turning 3 so he didn't have to pay a ticket :)

Once the list of Celebs is released will you be adding it to the first post?

Yes, each time there's new information I update the first post so people don't have to look back pages and pages...I'll also post it on the current page and let you know that I updated the first post

I got the Darthmaul DOnald and it was $170 I love it! I'm thinking of doing the same and getting a different statue every year I can go.

::yes:: Me too! As neat as it would be to see him, I think the crowds will be insane

::yes::::yes:: I was 11 when Star Wars came out and I was crazy over Mark Hamill, so finally seeing him in person would be a dream come true. I have to admit that when I found out he was going to be at SWW this year, for a split-second, the thought of changing our dates from the first weekend did cross my mind. I think the crowds will be horribly insane and I just don't feel it's worth changing dates. It would be nice if everyone else changed from my weekend.;)
