Well gals and guys I'll be M.I.A. for a couple of days, I'm volunteering at the Expo and the Full Marathon and also running the Minnie 10K. I'll keep my eyes and ears open and I'll keep checking the HUB for any info on SWW. For anyone new to this thread I highly recommend reading the first post, it has a lot of info, links, pictures and videos that can help in the planning stage.

Ok I have read the whole thread so I could catch up with everyone and make sure I wasn't asking the same questions over again.

1st - I was at the Christmas Parade taping and got to meet Neil Patrick Harris. I made it to TV too. It was fun watching for myself on Christmas Morning. My niece danced in the parade and we all had a blast seeing the SW characters.

2nd - Where can I find pictures of what people wear during SWW? Anyone willing to post pictures of what they plan to wear or have done in the past? My DS is interested in dressing up but he doesn't want to be extra hot due to his clothes.

3rd - I went over to the Cake Thread since we will be celebrating my DS 10th Birthday and they said Disney can not to Star Wars Cakes but they have the SW Cupcake during SWW - Has anyone done a SW Cake during SWW and had it at one of their ADRs. I was thinking about doing it on Friday night at Mama Melrose.

4th - I know it said not to do ADRs during SWW but my DS (it is his birthday) really wanted to eat at MM and Sci-Fi. I booked our times after careful review of the times guide in the first post and I think we should be ok. Is this a level 10 no no or just maybe a level 6 no no??

Thanks so much for the info. I can't wait to continue to read everyone's post and plan our SWW.

I'll try to answer your #2 question.

The neat thing about Star Wars Weekends was that going in costume appeared unusual for some especially when we left our resort and everyone around was smiling but you knew what they were thinking lol but I mostly got compliments for my costume and especially for my DD's who decided to be a Pink Princess Jedi (yeah, they don't exist in Star Wars canon but the DW insisted and it turned out well IMO).

Many other people in costume often smiled, high fived and also posed pictures with us and even a few other guests and CMs did too quickly! I even got mistaken for a CM at one point... (guy was asking me if a particular line was for JTA sign up) but all the same! Dressing up was fun and we plan on doing so again this year with my family!

Now I will mention that it did get really hot. One lady approached me and jokingly told me how brave I was for dressing up and that she could never do it! My daughter did get hot and although she never took her costume completely off, she did take her boots off and went with sandals. Afterwards we left in the afternoon to cool off at the resort pools. So best advice is to keep hydrated and obviously listen to your children, if they're too hot... it's probably better to bring them a cooler change of clothes just in case.

I thought there had been a thread here that showcased many people's costumes ideas and was what convinced me to do so but I can't find it. So I looked up a few links and decided to add them if you wanted to consider a look.

My wife is deciding to dress up this year with us as Padme Amidala wearing the Lake dress. This video shows a guest wearing it in the parks.

I'll be going as Anakin Skywalker again and DD is undecided.

Sorry for my rant, I really enjoyed SWW and hope you do so too. :good vibes

Reizo: Amazing pictures, love the outfits!

I too dressed up last year, here are a few pics. (click link below) popcorn::

I will warn people be so careful what you choose to wear, by the end of the day even though that Mara Jade jumpsuit was light I was dying and after I got Ray Parks to sign my poster I ran back to my hotel and showered (3 in the afternoon) because I couldn't stand the heat! Those guys and gals of the 501st (I talked with alot of them last year) only wear their costumes for the parade and some of them said they nearly melted away, the black outfits have been known to even leave burns one guy told me.

SO THINK before you dress, remember how hot and how long you will be wearing your gear, or your kids will be wearing theirs.... have a back up plan for changing out of what you wear. I know this year it will be on the lighter side for me!

This will be our 1st SWW trip. We plan to be at HS on Fri, May 30th & maybe again on Sat, May 31st. On Thurs, May 29th, we're going to HS to do all of the other attractions. My question, should we try & do Jedi Training that Thurs, instead of waiting until Friday? Will Jedi Training be done differently during SWW? Other characters, other dialog? Or will it be the same, no matter which day?

Thanks for the info, and I look forward to reading everything.

Congrats to all those who got great deals. I was pricing things last night for all4 weekends. Still not sure what we're going to do.

Reizo, love the pictures!

The Sonrise Student, love your dress and the Mara Jade costume. I may have asked you before, but don't remember, the guy in the picture, was he in line with my family to see Warwick's show?

We have not done any cakes in years. It doesn't hurt to call and ask if it can be done now that Disney owns Star Wars.

We booked ADRs last year. However, ended up cancelling some of them the day of because things came up. For example, I had one booked at Sci-Fi for just after 11am, but ds was asked to be in the parade. Another, we almost missed because I had it booked for 8:35pm at 50'sPTC, but due to inclement weather, the Hoopla started late. DH was taping it and never bothered to check the time. He arrived close to 9pm, but they still sat us, but wouldn't let me check in until he was there.

The days we did make it to our lunch ADRs, I was very thankful for the break and air conditioning.

I think it's more that you never know what could come up, not so much the crowd thing. The year before, at the last minute it was announced that Dave Filoni was going to appear on a Saturday. Neither my husband or son wanted to miss that. If I remember correctly, it wasn't even in the times guide, just a sign posted near the entrance. I took a picture of the sign that day, so we wouldn't forget.

Doing during the week is much more laid back for sign ups. They are done at Sounds Dangerous and not Indy during the week.

During SWW, there are 2 levels of JTA. One group is on the stage and one group is on the floor. The stage battles against Darth Vader, and the floor either against Ventress or Darth Maul. Ahsoka usually helps with the floor jedi group.

The dialog is identical.

While you can do Jedi Training any day of the week, like everything else Star Wars, it is even better during SWW. For that, they double the size of the classes and one group on the stage battles Darth Vader, and the other group down on the side of the stage battles either Darth Maul or Ventress (they alternate). The show is the same, they just divide the kids into two groups to accommodate for the extra Padawans :)

LOVETHATTINK: Are you asking about the guy with the Emperor Stitch costume? Or my boyfriend, the guy in really cool Star Wars t-shirt but costumeless one? :confused3

Not sure about Emperor Stitch guy, just met him in the merch tent that one time on the First Friday of SWWs.

Both I and my boyfriend were in line for Warwick Davis show (May 25th 2013), and if you were in line with him then you saw the show where I played Warwick's grandmother

 ( click this link for pic of me as grandma http://imgur.com/nXJ57M6 )

Hope that's what you were looking for

Love the pictures being posted! Hope to see more!!!!!popcorn::

I noticed in one of the pictures people sitting in chairs (like the ones you take to soccer practice). Do people bring those to sit in while waiting for the park to open? parade? I don't think I would want to carry a chair with me all day. I'm looking forward to less carrying this trip since we will not have the baby - no diaper bag!!! My DH and I were thinking a small backpack for bottle water, camera, autograph book for DS, and a few other basics.

My DS has three things on his list - JTA, Parade and Hyperspace Hoopla. My plans are to do these three things on Friday so that on Saturday we can spend more time getting pictures and autographs with the characters.

Yes, people bring lots of various things to sit on or lay on. A lot of them sleep out there all night.

Everyone takes their stuff back to their cars an hour or so before they start handing out FPs for the celeb autographs.

Alayne if you are referring to my pic with GeekyGirl we were waiting in line outside the DHS for Celebrity Fast Passes.

(Celebrity Fast Passes: For those that don't know, if you want to get a autograph from a featured celebrity (like Ray Parks, Warrick Davis or many more :) ) everyone who wants to meet and get an autograph must wait in line EARLY in the morning to obtain a Celebrity Fast Pass, only those that have the passes will get to meet an featured celebrity. Sometimes they have stand-by FP for celebrities but as a whole if they don't make it through the guaranteed Celebrity FP holders quickly those is stand by don't get seen.)

Depending on how HOT the celebrity is you are trying to obtain a Celebrity Fast Pass for will determine how soon you must get a spot in line. (For example, last year my boyfriend and I got in line for Ray Parks at 4 am in the morning and we were the VERY LAST two to get guaranteed Celebrity FP for him that day.) Some people have gotten in line as early as the night before, WHOLE FAMILIES even... so what happens is they bring the gear, sleep out, then once they get their Celebrity FP they put their gear in the car and wait in line with the rest of those waiting to get into the park. It really can be that crazy! They don't just bring their gear to sit and sleep, they bring stuff to entertain themselves too during the long wait! It really is a three ring circus of SW Geeks chatting, sleeping, playing movies on their laptops. This is how I met so many of the 501st last year, I chatted with a few on the boards but then a WHOLE BUNCH I got to know in lines waiting for Celebrity FPs. It was a great experience and as tired as we were, my boyfriend and I plan to do it again this year (hence our booking at the BWI so we can walk our happy/tired buts over to DHS during the weeeeeeee hours of the morn.) :coffee:

:thumbsup2 So if you plan to do Celebrity FP, read, read, read, this forum... without the help of these fine folks we would have never known to get in line for those passes so early and what time! Like I said some are hotter than others or have more autograph sessions during the day than others, and these fine folks out here on the board know the drill well! :thumbsup2

IN ADDITION: Celebrity FPs aren't the only thing people get out front early in line for, the limited additon merchandise has a line as well, expecailly on weekend 1, not so much after that... but still people get to the park early to get over to the "Darth Mall" to get their goodies!

OH and if you wanted more pictures.... I got some for ya :)

The links below are Motorcade Parade from the Saturdays of weekend 1 & 2 of 2013 SWW. My boyfriend has an awesome camera, and we posted this public for all those 501st friends we made while preparing for the trip and chatting with them in line :wave2:

That's a great plan, just make sure that your JTA time slot leaves you plenty of time to grab a spot for the parade. To get the best spot (curbside in shade) you must grab it about 2 hours before. If you don't mind being in the sun all the time you can grab a spot 1 hour before.

For all of you that have gone in the past I need ideas
I would like to set up a place and time to meet every weekend so we can meet as many Dissers as possible
It cannot interfere with the Parade or any of the shows including Hoopla. Unless we want a group meet to watch the parade.
I noticed that plenty of people plan to stay for Hoopla but for various reasons leave. So i'm thinking during the morning hours would be best, it could be just a quick Hello to put a face to the username
What do you veterans of sww think?
