Official Star Wars Weekends 2014 Tips and Tricks

For jedi training, you have to time it right if you want specifically darth maul or ventriss. Vader is at every session (and every regular day jedi training) so he's not hard to get. In the past, it was Darth Maul first session, Ventress second session, Maul third session, ventress the next several sessions and darth maul again after lunch (1:00?).

Hey. this is the only video I could think of that I had of the "spiel" on star wars weekends. My daughter was dressed as assaj ventriss and I videoed because I was pretty sure she would say something like this because she was saying stuff like that the whole time in her ventress costume. But I think it will give you a feel for it.

In case you are wondering who the random 'liker' is - I just couldn't help myself. "I am the Dark Side" could easily be an internet meme :D

thank you for posting this video, it's a great way to explain the process, do you mind if I go back to your video when people are asking about the JTA sign up process. I'm sure there will be more people in the coming months with the same question...maybe I can post your link to the first page.

No I don't mind at all, that's great. I wish I had thought to get more of the line - basically it is the whole indiana jones queue.

Thank you :) She's a funny kid.

I truly am grateful for this thread. When I had to change my dates from June for my birthday to May due to work, I wasn't all that excited and had a mini-existentialist crisis about what I wanted to do (yes, my vacations are that important, lol). When I figured out that my dates coincided with SWW, at first I was just pleased to have a new experience, but reading this thread has gotten me really pumped for the event, and I'm only a moderate SW fan (I've seen all the films, including the original versions before Lucas went crazy, and that's about it. Han shot first). So thanks for that. Back to our originally schedule programming already in progress.

Awesome, thanks. I'll put the link to your video on the first post with all the other information

I'm very happy that this thread can help. Planning a trip during SWW can be overwhelming if you don't know what's going on and Disney makes it very difficult by releasing info so close to the actual event.
I'm hoping not much of the shows schedules will change but now, with all this talk about the new stuff, I'm not sure. We'll just have to wait and see.

with the announcement of the 24 hour party at MK during memorial day weekend the best day to go to SWW will probably be Saturday 24th.
My reason to say this is that Friday the 23rd. (when the 24 hour party starts at 6am at MK) will probably not see many people until that night. I'm thinking people might want to go to DHS for SWW that day just to get it done, everyone will want to be at MK during the night of the 23rd/early hours of the 24th. then they'll be tired and just want to sleep in on the 24th.
After having rested on Saturday, people will flock DHS for SWW Sunday the 25th. So that would be the worse day

I was there during the 24 hour party last year. I chose to go to the Disney Studios instead and found the park pretty quiet during the morning due to many being over at MK for the 24 hour thing. I saw many guests later in the day and it was quite busy.

Darth Mall Merchandise tent was busy in the morning but not disturbingly so. Also It was the one time TSM was a 20 minute wait. It didn't last long. I enjoyed all the talks I wanted and the Hoopla. I am glad I did it because now no more Hoopla.

And of course with the announcement of the 24hr event returning, it's definitely got me considering plans to attend Friday the 23rd's SWW as well since we'll be attending the first weekend of SWW and may want to catch up on things missed before heading to MK for the 24hr event and hopefully not being locked out due to capacity.

That's my first concern, the 2nd for me is pondering whether to dress up as a Jedi again for that morning for SWW and then carrying the force with me to MK since dressing up is allowed for the 24hr event or to dress up as another Disney character or forget dressing up all together lol Decisions, decisions... :rolleyes2

I don't think last years 24 hour event at MK ever closed for capacity. I'm sure plenty of people will do SWW Friday morning, then go to MK for the all nighter.
And you should totally go dressed as a Jedi...you probably won't be the only one

That's very true. I was thinking of it really as a chance to go with a buddy of mine who's a bigger SW fan than I am but has been having it rough lately with a lot of surgeries he's had to endure so far this year. If by then he's up for it, it'd be great to go as Jedi and enjoy just being there together with our wives too.

We r taking our DGD and DGS to Sww. They are Huge star war fans. My Dh and I want to enjoy Sww with the kids. We have seen some of the movies, but not all of them. Which movies would you suggest we watch before we go?

I recommend watching them in "Machete Order", which is 4, 5, 2, 3, 6. Watching in this order helps to understand what Luke is going thru via flashback to the earlier episodes. More on this here http://static.nomachetejuggling.com/machete_order.html

Haha a little harsh when presented towards people who aren't really huge fans of Star Wars but that link does help you realize watching it in that order aligns the storyline much better.

As far as the merchandise, it looks like Star Wars Rebels is the theme this year for sure. Some neat looking stuff.

Interesting reading. Thanks for sharing the link. I think we will watch them in this order before our visit.:thumbsup2

Then you'll wonder who darth maul is. My 10-year-old son has always liked episode 1. I think we are probably too hard on it.
