Official Star Wars Weekends 2014 Tips and Tricks

It seems all the shows at Premiere Theater will offer FP+
https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/entertainment/hollywood-studios/

Now it's a matter of
1.- Tier...will these have that
2.- Will these be separate from the regular fp+ (doubt it)

Priority would be from highest to lowest (in my opinion)
Stars of the Saga
Visit to the Maul
My Short Story
Obi Wan and Beyond
Star Wars Voices

great news! Just checked and nothing yet for FP+. All the website let me do was add it to my plans.

stars of the saga for Friday 6/6 was listed as 4:45
visit to the Maul Friday 6/6 was at 6:15

this will make the afternoon run so much easier. (if we manage to get them)

So it looks like, during Mark Hamill weekend, there might be an additional show between Behind the Force and Stars of the Saga....also Stars of the Saga is listed as being 1 hour show, I don't remember it being that long.
All in all, SWW 2014 people, you should be thanking your lucky stars because this is the earliest we have ever had an idea on the time of all the shows.

I saw another poster with a similar question... Are all shows good for young SW lovers (7&9) or are some more kid appealing than others? Also, anyone take preschool/toddler age children? Trying to decide if they (DD 4 & 4) might get scared or if it's a real quiet environment they could disrupt.

I would like to know as well! We are taking our ds's 6 & 3. Can anyone give an overview of the shows and in your opinion which ones are good for young padwans!

The best thing I can recommend is going on youtube and watching videos of the shows, that's the best way of knowing.
The descriptions of each show are on the first page.
For kids I always recommend Behind the Force Star Wars Voices because it features a lot of actors that make cartoons, not just SW but others and they show some of their different voices...
For kids really into SW Stars of the Saga is interesting, but not allw ould love it
Again, watch some youtube videos and you could make a better decision

Now I'm starting to get stressed...I think BUT I know you guys are going to fix it so I want be stressed very long.

Here is my plans (now tell me what I'm doing wrong. :rotfl2:)

Wed 5/14 - Drive to Disney and arrive by 3:00 - head to MK (I have to have Casey's at DW or it just wouldn't be a DW vacation.)

Thurs. 5/15 - Arrive at DHS about 30 to 45 min before RD and head straight to the JTA sign up. Then ride ToT and head over to the Rebel Rendezvous. Check out the shopping and see some of the Disney Characters. My DS and DH have appointments for D-Tech at 11:20 and 11:50. I figure we could leave and get a light lunch and then come back to see Ashely between 2 and 4. We have dinner at 50's Prime time at 4:25. Then ride RRC and ST. First Stress - What time do I try to get the JTA for?
GOAL for the Day - JTA, D-Tech and Ashley. Anything else is a bonus.

Fri. 5/16 - Arrive at 4:30/5:00 and get in line for Peter Mayhew: Chewbacca FP. Then breakfast at Sci-Fi at 8:00. After breakfast go to Chewbacca's line for pictures. Then check in for the Feel the Force and watch the parade. After the parade I would like to see more of the SW characters (not the Fab5). Then we have dinner at Mama Melrose at 6:20 for my DS Star Wars Birthday Dinner. After dinner ride ST, see any other characters we can then head to the Fireworks show. Second Stress - what happens if our FP for Peter Mayhew is during our ADR or the Feel the Force package. Then what? GOAL for the Day - Peter Mayhew and Chewbacca.

Sat. 5/17 - VIP Package: Still not sure how this day is going to work but I think my GOAL's are covered SHOWS. We have dinner reservations at H&V at 5:00.

I talked with my DS and DH about making a Priority List like it was suggested on here and we really don't care about the rides since we have AP and have been going to DW a lot this year. We can ride the rides on another trip.

So our Priority List looks like this:
Ashely
Peter Mayhew
Shows
Chewbacca
JTA
Parade
Fireworks
See as many SW Characters as possible

What do you think? What am I missing? What do I need to change?

Thanks for the tips and suggestions especially the one about trading with the Jawas. LOVE THAT!!!
Thursday: try get JTA in the morning, the show is about 20 minutes long. You can head to the merchandise event after JTA
Friday: Mayhew's fp won't conflict wi the parade because he is in it. You might be a bt late for the parade but you have a guaranteed spot. After dinner you won't be able to see any SW characters because they all go in around 7pm
Other than that I think you're good to go :thumbsup2

Just to verify: DHS will open at 8:00am Friday may 16th correct? So we should be there around 7:00 or 7:15 right? Buses from the resorts start at 6:30 right?
Also would we be able to get a nice shaded spot by the stage for the 11:30 Parade if we start looking at 1 hour 20 minutes before? I asked this before and I was told any where from 1 1/2 to 2 hours but we have a 9:10 ADR at Sci Fi. I have given us an hour for the ADR but hopefully one of us can leave 10 minutes earlier than that but if not will 1 hour 20 minutes before be enough time to secure a good spot?

DHS is scheduled to open at 8am most likely open around 7:45am. Buses are scheduled to start around 6:30am. People have been lucky and some have not. I would triple check with your front desk the day before
There are no shaded spots by the Hat, the only shaded spot I believe will be the site for the Feel he Force package. But you can grab a shaded spot along Hollywood Blvd. and then walk behind the parade to the Hat Stage at the end (if you want to see the welcome ceremony)

I haven't been to SWW in many years - but we're going this year (Memorial Day Weekend!). :)

Question(s) for all you SWW experts:
How early do they start distributing FP's for the celebs? DS is interested in meeting Warwick Davis and Jeremy Bulloch.
So, I figured that we can get there early to get the FP's for these guys. He'd get one FP, I'd get it for the other guy.

We're staying at BWV - is it realistic to go early (say between 5-6 A.M.), get the FP's, then go back to my resort? We'd eat breakfast and eventually return to the park.

TIA for any assistance!! :thumbsup2

So, I'm trolling everyday for Mine Train FP, now I've got to start trolling for SWW FP too?

You need to get there before 5 to get a fast pass and after you get your wristband on fast pass you can go back to your hotel

Yup
At least you are in good company ;)

We've been to SWW in the past and never had a problem getting into a show and didn't line up an hour before it started either, is someone expecting something different this year? Is there a real need to FP? I'm thinking about which to give up? TOT ok, yeah, then star tours, as AP's probably don't need to see during SWW, but give up my TSMM? I'm guessing not gonna happen.

I guess it's more of a peace of mind, knowing that you have a seat and don't have to make a line for 45min or more.
It also depends on the show, for Behind the Force there were 2 shows last year per day, now it's only one and Visit to the Maul would be completely full by the time it started so I know some people were left out.

Really great pics! Thanks so much for posting them. you guys look terrific for being up all night! :lmao:

Just so I "get the picture" you happened to be last in line from this photo for Ray Park.

So whose line is on the left? Looks shorter at 4 am.

And to think at this point nobody behind you knows they aren't getting an autograph for 2 more hours? That's got to cause some hard feelings. What do they do then?

I guess you guys weren't sure either. Wow! what a close call!!

quick question: How do they handle bag check for those waiting past the checkpoint?

Here's the bad thing about all this... We didn't know were were the very last for the guarantee FP until they handed them out, there were till 50 to 100 people behind us as well! That picture just shows us looking forward to the front of the line which is around the corner.
