Official Star Wars Weekends 2013 Tips and Tricks

Rookie question: What is the Hoopla? I see that it is usually at 8pm each nite.

Nightly show where the characters have a dance off, light side against dark side. There have been several links posted throughout the thread. It's on the big stage, but has also been broadcasted on the Idol screen. It's a very popular show, so if you plan to watch it live, you need to get there super early. It's not uncommon for people to claim their spot an hour or so before the show. Parents often put children on their shoulders once the show starts making it difficult for people to see. However, over at the Idol screen, it's a much more relaxed atmosphere. People SIT on the ground to watch the show and there are usually lots of small children here. It's not uncommon to see people finding a spot for Hoopla during the broadcast of the last Idol show of the day.

UPDATE: Called back and they are now saying most likely not today as it would have dropped this morning.

Really need some advice for a first time Star Wars weekend trip. DH, DS (6) and I will be at Disney and catching the start of the weekend. Here are my questions (keeping in mind we are already doing DS during the week to ride the rides and things so this will be mainly to see characters and experince Star Wars weekend for a 6 year old that loves it. Also the Jedi Training is not that important he has did it 2 years in a row and said he was fine not doing it this year or doing it on the day we go before STW begins):

a) We could go on opening day of Friday or Saturday - which do you recommend?

b) I am so totally confused on autographs. His favorite and MUST is Dark Mauth so is this the actual actor dressed up and I need to be there at like 6 am to get a Fastpass for or will the is this dressed up actor just inside for meet and greets (line wise) ? I hope that makes sense

c) will there be times for each meet and greet character wise before the day of opening or will we just need to pick up the sheet that day.

d) any suggestions would be great as we have love Disney and thought we had it together being our 3rd trip but this Star Wars weekend is stressing me out
