Official Star Wars Half Marathon Thread...Jan 15-18th, 2015!!

Has anyone mapped out what the 10k course looks like? I'm having a hardtime visualizing where the city streets are.

10K courses: I bet they give us a new one, but here's the past 2 10K courses for Tink and DDD that were used. Might give you an idea on what they have planned. Pictures aren't the best, but they give you an idea anyway. Cheers!

I know this is really early but do you think it will mirror the Tinkerbell Half Course as compared with the DL Half. Looking at Tinkerbell course it didn't go by Angel's Ballpark. Did it go by any other big place outside of the parks?

It didn't, but we had the Red Hat Society and a ton of course support.

I heard the Avengers would have a totally new route- and suspect they will try to do that with the Star Wars races as well. But Not sure how much different the parks routes can be. You either get DL first or DCA first. lol I could see them deciding the Angels stadium needs to be kept only for the DL half.

One thing that is different from WDW that I liked about DL half was local support. Angel Stadium was fun.

I did not even think about the route being different from Tink. I loved the Tink course. Why can't they giv us details before we sign up!!!

Is this true? DVC registration opens the day before? Usually it's the same day as AP.

Just saw on the DVC website they do have early registration on June 3 at 12 est. for select events, but later on it says come back on June 4 for link to registration.

So don't know what it means. I will check on both days.

On RunDisney Twitter page, it says both DVC and AP are June 4th

I edited my post to reflect the change in the DVC wording. As usual, things arent clear. I think it is most likely the 4th but cant hurt to check on the 3rd, right?

Sounds like a typo. They were pretty clear on twitter that it would be the 4th for both. But I guess we shall find out soon

When you register it's one at a time. When I signed myself and DD for the Halloween 5k I had to do both separately.

Sorry I'm a little confused. Does DVC stand for Disney Vacation Club or Disney Visa Card?? I remember being able to register early for Tink last year with the Disney Visa (I'm not an AP holder or Vacation club owner). Will I be able to register early with the Disney Visa for Star Wars??

Disney Vacation Club.

Once upon a time you were able to register early for the RunDisney events with your Disney Visa...so I guess that would be D.V. or something...apparently not anymore.

Early registration begins tomorrow. The DVC and passholders can register early...so I gather.

And I thought 11 medals in 11 days was a lot but 13. Wow. Even if you miss out on the Star Wars 5K, still, 12 in 11 days. The only thing greater than that is the PRICE! Ha.

And I love when someone said, why can't they give us the details before registration. Kinda like the Castaway Cay challenge and the Star Wars announcements. I mean, those were done is such a timely matter. (Sarcasm)

Logged on to DVC so that I can access the special link at 9am to only find out that they moved the registration back a day. Ugh.
