Official Star Wars Half Marathon Thread...Jan 15-18th, 2015!!

Internet Explorer gives me the same error message as Firefox and Chrome. Any other ideas on how to access the course? Other than wait patiently for runDisney to fix the link :-)

I was able to access is from IE thanks for the suggestion in an earlier post to try that...but I also was able to right click and save the link as a pdf to my computer from chrome and finally open it that way...maybe that will work for you.

Am I the only one who thinks this course is going to suck after the first 4.5 miles?

I've only done the Disneyland Half Marathon course before but even after exiting the Disney parks, I was still excited to run through Anaheim to the Big A. I hated the course from there to the end though. ;)

This one has some weird twists and turns, presumably to get the mileage, and a good portion of running back on part of the course that we previously ran. Oh, well! Still looking forward to it. Hopefully, there will be some cool on-course entertainment through Anaheim and Garden Grove.

Yes! Thats why we decided to just do the 10Ks - you get all the fun park bits and almost none of the long slog on the streets. :upsidedow

From avengers and DDD I can tell you it sucks. Super crowded through parks and mega lines. Ugh

OMG the corrals are huge! Why?!?!?!?:confused3

Wondering the same thing.

I imagine there is some advantage (to who, I don't know) of having fewer, larger corrals, instead of either starting two smaller corrals at the same time (as has been done lately) or starting smaller corrals individually.

I guess they are still seeking a balance between race start crowding and too many individual corral segments requiring corral monitors, move-to-start-line coordination, countdown, and start/releases.

Or, maybe (hopefully) the few, relatively very large corrals is a mistake and a new corral breakdown is pending.

Prepare to shuffle a bit at the beginning of the race -- We'll see how it goes.

The 10K course looks great. Not as convinced by the 1/2 course, but hey, give anything a go once, right? :)

I had submitted a time that would have got me in D for the challenge, but I a couple of bib numbers into E. Oh well. Will just have to work a little harder to stay head of the balloon ladies

I have two costumes as whilst D would have worked for Darth, E works for Ewok :)

I love the 10k course and I'm actually really excited for the half course. Completely different from Tink or the Disneyland half or Avengers and a new start to park time. Plus it's much more park time than Avengers. Hopefully the part we repeat on Harbor has a lot of entertainment!!

I love the 10k and the 5k. I like the half because it reminds me TOT. The out and back just motivates me to hurry if I don't still see people as I am on my way back.

I'm torn about the 10k. I love all the park time, but it looks like no running through the castle? BOOOO

The link to the event guide is up! I haven't read it yet, but I absolutely love the look of it! :lovestruc

Race weekend suddenly seems very real now. I just got back from Disneyland and held off on buying lots of things as I'm waiting for race weekend. But now the course map is up and the corrals are out.

I'm doing the Rebel Challenge and am in corral D for Dagobah. I'm happy with my assignment since they placed me where I requested, which is in line with my 3 prior runDisney finishes. In 2012 character lines during the Disneyland 1/2 and Wine & Dine 1/2 were just fine. But if they're too long, I'll pass by without much thought. Aside from Chip and Dale as ewoks, there probably isn't another character photo from Star Wars or Disney that I haven't gotten before at Star Wars Weekends 2009 or the 24 hour party at Disneyland this year.

Now for the great costume debate. I keep going back and forth. At the very least, I'll carry a lightsaber, but may not go much beyond that. My costume must be run comfortable first and I don't want to spend much money for it. I may just carry a lightsaber and call it good because I'm not crazy enough to run in my full Jedi robes.
