Where did you get your map? Remember, you have very little control as to where you actually end up. You can request old or new, but unless you need handicap accessible you don't have much say at all.

TBDave posted the latest map on 11/3/08 in post 1844.

Thank you again for your informative responses based on your recent visit.

I know as guest of SOG we can do EEH, but does the SOG room key work like a KTTK card- as proof that we are resort guests. I think I'm correct in believing the SOG room key can not be used as park admission. Does anyone know for sure?
Thanks---43 days to go!

OK, this might get long and confusing...so I apologize in advance!
My husband is in the Navy, and he is stationed in Panama City Florida while I stayed behind with our kids in Virginia Beach, it was a tough decision for us to do the whole "geographical bachelor" thing, but it was/is the best choice for us...That being said...here is my problem!
We are leaving for DW on January 13, staying at Shades of Green. Back when I made the reservations my DH wasn't sure he would be able to take the time off to come with us. I booked the reservation for 2 adults and 3 kids as I knew that my mom (who basically lives with me while my husband is gone) would be coming. Well....now my husband CAN come...for 5 out of the 7 days, which of course we are thrilled about..But now we are 3 adults and 3 kids, which puts us over the "max occupancy" for our room (which is 5 people). Now, my youngest is 3 1/2, so space for us isn't an issue at att becasue she'll just sleep in the bed with us, but my problem is that if we want to do the EMH then we ALL need a resort ID. So my initial thought was that I just wouldn't "claim" my daughter was in in the room...but then I got to worrying about her not having one of those cards. Do you think the CM's would be super strict about letting her on rides if she doesn't have a card but all the rest of us do???
I really just want to be honest of course...but I fear if I do that then they (SOG) will tell us that since we are "over" that we need another whole room...and there is just NO way we can afford that right now because we didn't budget for another 800 bucks!!!
Soooo...what should I do?? Any thoughts or opinons??
Thanks in advance...I'm stressing!!!! :confused3

I am not sure what the policy is. But I would just call and ask about occupancy for a family of six with the ages of your children. Explain husband will only be able to be there for a few days. You don't have to give them any more info than necessary to get info. I think sometimes they allow 6 if a child is crib age........ Or change your mother's flight plans to only come down for a few days instead of the entire time. She may like a little alone time about now. Good Luck

Please note that I have seen "packages" like this before. One of the great joys of visiting WDW is experiencing the varied dining options. Would you really want to eat the Garden Gallery buffet EVERY day for both breakfast and lunch? This may also not fit your schedule if you are going to be spending the dinner hour in one of the parks prior to the evening entertainment offerings.

I agree, there are lots of great dining experiences at WDW and we have been able to try many of them. If this was our first trip or we didn't go every year, I probably would not book this package. But our DD will be 2 so we will probably be coming back to SOG for a rest during the day anyway. I can get this package and stay at SOG for the same price as I would have paid to be at ASMU with the quick service package. At SOG, I get a larger room, the Stars and Stripes ticket instead of MYW w/the hopper and not just counter service meals. It might not work for everyone but it does work for us! Thanks for your comments! Feedback for everyone here helps me to plan the best trips. It's like having hundreds of Disney experts at your finger tips!:goodvibes

On the resort ID, all it had was our name and the dates, it did not have how many in the party. That was on both visits in Dec.

I just tried and couldn't get on either! It was working this morning, I've been on it several times.

KatRob, Did you use EMH, I'm reading on the Theme Park Board they are no using wristbands, but you have to show your resort ID at each attraction. I was just wondering if that was working ok for those staying at SOG.

We only used them in the mornings. And some mornings they didn't even check for the resort ID. It was one ID for the group. Can't help out about evenings.

I just saw your other question...yes the resort key card works the same as proving you are a guest. I remember showing it once.

Does anyone have any info on the ADA (handicapped) rooms? I only see pictures online of the basic rooms with handles in the tub area, but I read somewhere online that they have a few rooms that have a roll-in shower.....specifically 9 in the old section.

I sent SOG an e-mail for info, but it is the weekend and I figured maybe someone here on the DIS would have either seen this room or had one and could elaborate on it. Thanks in advance.

the theme park page has info on an upcoming military discount for theme park tickets, 5 day MYW for $99 for active retired military. I called SOG to confirm, but since it's supposed to start on 1/4, they suggested I call then for confirmation. Anyone here know anything?

I saw this too. So far, no one can find it any where else and the OP has not said where it came from.

It's coming up as the first topic when you log into DISboars.com. It may be on the home page at WDWinfo.com also. My DH is full time Air National Guard. I don't know if they are considering him active military or not. Probably not.

This will be work great for my DD's friend. We purchased annual passes since we were coming back for a longer visit in October. I had told my dd if her friend could come up with the money for her park ticket we would pay for her food and everything else. Since the sponsor can purchase additional tickets, this will be wonderful. Too bad I didn't know about this before spending almost 1400 for APs! That's the gamble you take, I guess.:goodvibes

I'm planning on a MNSSHP day in there also since she's never gone to WDW before. I just hope her mother doesn't change her mind about letting her go with us. I had said I would never take anyone along because so many of the girls my dd's age are such a pain--this one is so much like mine she's just considered part of the family.

Hi

We have always stayed at one of the disney resorts-we are thinking of booking at SOG

I have read all the FAQ's but still have a few questions

Is the walk to the monrail to much for a 3 year old- will we need the stroller

Are the prices good compared to the value/mod resorts- may time frame

can you get the dining plan?

any issues with the tickets?

can you use the ticket/card to charge to your room?
