***Official September 2022 Thread***

Its my understanding that the reason it goes down is not tech issues, but the ride has to be cleaned due to people getting sick.
I'm not sure about this. I have a family of motion sickies (not me fortunately), but based on that I would expect FoP, Star Tours and Remy to have the same issues if that were truly the reason. I can't get DW and younger DD on ST or Remy again.

Agree, w/ the sheer volume of guests on Rise, I don't doubt this can happen from time to time, but wouldn't think it's a primary reason for delays vs. good o' fashion breakdowns.

I definitely feel like between the massive tech associated with this ride and how I find other rides much more jarring it seems more likely your reasoning would be true, but from what I read its the reason down time is more or less about 30 minutes at a time. I suspect if this were a constant tech issue that happened multiple times a day and only takes 30 minutes to fix then a permanent fix could have been found by now and eliminated multiple stops a day.

My mom really struggled bad (she has meniere's) at Universal and Disney. She now loves to go to the parks and just watch the entertainment, and just hang out. So, I feel you on this a lot!!

Can you tell me more about which rides were a struggle? My SIL gets vertigo very easily and is willing to try rides but I don’t want the first one to take her out for the whole week!

My mom in law has vertigo, and not too into thrill rides, but she was able to go on nearly every WDW ride once (not Mission Space). 2nd time around, she'd talk in line with us and enjoy the queues (ToT comes to mind), but exited. Small coasters like 7D/SDD, no issues nor Fop/Rise. Obviously people have different degrees, but she was able to go on everything. She didn't want to do the bigger rides like RnR, EE more than the once. I can't handle more than 2-3x in a row of EE myself with the backwards part and sort of get dizzy on a scene near end of FoP.

It's the simulators that get my DW. FoP (will suffer through once each trip) , Remy (never again) and Star Tours (never again)are the biggies that get her. She doesn't do Mission Space, but I think that would be one as well. She can do the coasters just fine though she usually holds out for Space Mountain vs many of the others.

Joining this group! DH and I just booked Pop for 9/13 - 9/17. First trip without the kiddos (who are now grown).

Realized I joined the August thread but not September. We'll be at BWV 8/25 to 9/4. It's going to be a quick turnaround once we get home (school starts 9/6) but we're hoping late-August and September crowds to be low enough to justify the heat!

Many of the universal rides are simulator based. But there were a few she could do, and I'll come back and list them.

I couldn't do Men in Black after riding Simpsons. The old Back to The Future ride was worse, though. My family made the mistake of riding it after lunch on my first ever visit...

Joining in. Although we are heading to disney next week for 10 days, we are already looking to our annual September trip too. We will be there September 11-21 at AKL. I know a lot of us are here every year so thought I’d join in on the planning.
