***Official September 2022 Thread***

Thanks for the tip on the Disney+ discount!

Now I have to figure out if it is worth $370 more to stay at the Beach Club over Caribbean Beach. It's just a 2 night trip, with hopefully 2 park days, before our 7 night cruise. DH doesn't think it's worth it, but I have always wanted to stay at the BC. DH likes CB because of the access to the Skyliner. We will probably just be visiting Epcot for the Guardians ride and HS for the Star Wars stuff.

I can't compare with CB as that is one I have not yet visited. But, if it is in your budget you just can't beat the walk into EP from Beach Club. You can also walk to HS or grab the Skyliner right outside the International Gateway gate. Seem like BC for the win if you can swing it.

Thanks for the reminder about the walk. I had completely forgotten about the easy access to Epcot from the Beach Club!

I just saved over a $1000.00 switching from the Poly to the Grand Floridian. We have never stayed there but I have always wanted to. My daughter wanted a monorail resort this year due to their small children or normally we would stay at the French Quarters ( a fav of ours). This was great saving this money with the Disney Plus Discount and the opportunity to stay at a resort we never have before!! Now I am looking at learning all about this resort.

Nice! We've only visited the GF. I walked over from the Poly and had a drink at the Enchanted Rose on my last trip and loved it. There is so much to look forward to for that resort.

We will be there 1st week of Sept. Haven't firmly decided on resort yet. We just have tickets or AP, and tentative Music reservation.

Have you all booked flights for Sept? SWA opened bookings, after a month long extension, for the Fall, only a few days ago, and they're up over 50% from the week before dates (last week of Aug through like Sept 2). They were like $816 & $955 for 2 people round trip, and we typically target about $400. I'm trying to remember but feel like I do see some sell outs for SWA for the popular direct flights (late or early) for our routes, but only very late in the booking timeframe for Labor Day week. Are you guys holding out on flights if you haven't booked yet? I feel like this is about the worst time to book given high jet fuel prices, and oil already coming down significantly the past few weeks. I have heard airline execs stating that demand is high and they feel that they can readily pass down via higher prices.

Haven't booked flights yet but I've been checking weekly since October 2021. I did the same thing last year and ended up buying in mid-July.

But not for SWA. I fly Delta. Right now RT is about $600 for 2 people LAX to MCO

We booked with Delta for a better schedule (for us). It can happen anywhere I suppose, but I have had a run of bad luck with cancellations with SWA the last couple of trips. The thing I do like about SWA is that if prices do go down after you book you can always rebook and bank the credit for a future flight. So, we have everything done but the wait for ADR day...

locally for us Delta/American don't have as many flights, and are all with connections. Usually Southwest is cheaper for us, direct flights, and the included bags, but right now prices at Delta/American are about the same, a few cheaper flights at American, which to me is a another indicator that SW is coming out of the gate high, and hoping people jump on high prices. We had our share of recent flight cancelations from both Delta and American too (and SW). But SW at least emailed us, whereas Delta canceled our flight and pulled out of our airport completely, and didn't tell us. We found out very last minute and had to scramble for an American flight at a higher cost/worse time.

I think I typically find myself booking for early Sept. right around Memorial, a sale. But I suppose there could be sales in early July too. I read some Hopper and other outlook articles stating the best time might be about 30 days out (Aug. booking for Sept.), but I don't think I have the nerve to wait that last min.

We were supposed to go in Jan/Feb but moved our trip back to September. Luckily we bought our flights last July with American. We were able to move them and the rate was pretty much equal so only had to pay a few dollars for the fare change. Glad we already have them because they have really gone up since then.

Sept. being the lower demand period, I'm hopeful that if I wait to book our flights, they won't fill up and cause a sale.

Additionally, not for airfare, but I originally thought (last yr. when targeting this Sept.) there could be an even more pronounced lull period in Sept., and lower crowds, if there's some special announcements for Oct. 1 for EP 40th. I don't know in what form if not for new attractions, maybe different evening events and the like. Seems like they'd have to do something. Honestly thought they would drag out Guardians later.

I hope Sept remains a low demand month too.

YAY that's a great switch! I can't save anymore since I rented points, but that is good enough for me! I also really like French Quarter and is where I would stay if I was still going next month.

I also now have my tickets and therefore park reservations (or at least the placeholder reservations) as well! Very exciting milestone haha. Now to start thinking about what I really want to do and on which days!

For the past five years I've checked once a week starting in Nov/Dec for a September trip. Right around Memorial Day can be the cheapest but I've found that mid-July was even better. I keep checking and have not found that around 30 days out is cheap enough to be worth the worry - maybe $5 to $7 per ticket.

Of course my research is limited to one airline flying out of and back into LAX to a very narrow field.

I have my flight down booked, but not my return flight. I am holding out for the price to drop, but I'm not going to wait past the end of June since I have a promo on my CC that ends then that will give me 6X the miles on anything I book with United. I always end up flying them since I live 15 minutes from a hub airport. I still have some credit left from cancelled flights in 2020, so whatever isn't covered with that will go on my card and earn a nice bonus.

I use the google flights tracker to see price changes. If you have a gmail account you can search flights on google and then setup to track the flight you want. Any time the price changes you get an email. Its been really helpful for me in the past. When I get the email saying its hit a price I want to pay, I hop on and purchase.
