Oh man! I love the excitement of this thread! We will be there Sept 10-21
...so far at Pop but if any discounts come out we will switch it up to a moderate.
I am currently planning our ADRs and CANNOT WAIT to make the call!!![]()
A third of the way official. 2/3s when we pay off the balance and completely official when we get MICKEY MAIL!!!! It can't come quick enough but seems like time is flying by at the same time.
We are headed back to the World on Sept 15-21. Staying at All Star Music but.....would really love to upgrade to POFQ if a room only discount would come out. We are not doing a Disney park this yearInstead we are going to try out Universal/IA/Discovery Cove. I still couldn't resist getting in my "Disney Magic"
We are hitting DTD, hopefully going to do a mini golf game, and eating at Ohana (one of my many favs). I can't wait til March to make my dining ressies!!!

Hi, we have just booked it all, including flights from Australia. So it's ON!!
Sept 27 - Oct 4 at POR
Doing a DCL 4 night Bahamian on the Dream from 23 Sept also.
Very excited, hoping for free dining like everyone else.
When can we start booking those ADRs?
Cheers
Angela
I didn't get super awesome prices, but they weren't insane either! Ha!!!! I hate the flight game...buy now and hope they don't go down...wait and hope they do???My husband makes fun of me "Really...buying airline tickets is your biggest 'problem'...."

I hear ya on the decisions! Got an email from Disney Destinations today.....10% off room pin.Saves us $650 off SSR, but free dining would save us $2000. Or 35-40% off pin/general promo would save us 2200+. So not sure if I should just book since I can always change it later, or wait. Honestly I hate calling and having to sit on the phone changing reservations, so I'd rather just wait for the general promo to come out and book then. Last year the Cdn general promo for Deluxe Villas was 40% off, so I think I'd rather just hope for that, even if it's a bit of a lower discount.
I want to book something soooo badly though!!!
Hate the flight game too, they've been steadily sitting at $501 per person (plus taxes/fees!) for the past two weeks. Figured they'll drop, or I'll get lucky and hit a seat sale like last year, but last night they jumped to $555 pp. I'm sure they'll come down, but it definitely makes me nervous in case they don't!
Sorry about the 10%.When does it expire? Personally, even though it's 10% and calling is a major pain in the rump, I'd book and apply it JUST in case something else doesn't come around. $650 off is better than paying rack rate, kwim? I highly doubt there won't be a better deal than 10%....September is sloooooow.

Yeah, $650 is still a good chunk of change, but it doesn't expire until mid-March. I know they only hold a certain number of rooms though, but since we plan on most likely going to SSR again, I doubt it will get booked up. Last year I booked March 3 with 40% off promo, so I'm really hoping I can at least wait maybe another month to see if something else comes out, and if not I'll maybe take the 10% off pin just in case. I LOVE September! Crowds are great, weathers great, promos are awesome!![]()
Just paid for our airfare!!! So excited and it definitely makes it feel more real!!

Oh yeah, then I'd wait if it's good till then. Mine expires mid Feb, so I took advantage just in case.
Hey, how is the weather there during the end of Sept? We went the first week of August and were DYING. It was 106* one day without the heat index. DHS was verrrrry hot!! And we didn't go to AK because we were worried about the heat. I heard it's still hot even 2 months later but upper 80's. That's a 20* difference!!
It was definitely hot and humid, but not unbearable. After a day we were used to it, the only thing annoying was we were constantly sweaty because of the humidity! We did ok as we were always at the park early, made sure we went into AC rides/shops when we got too hot, and left to go rest mid afternoon once it started getting too hot and crowded. AK wasn't bad at all, we found lots of shady spots/rides/shows. DHS wasn't fun though, and we left by 1:00 the day we were there, but we were pretty much done everything we wanted to do at the park anyways. I think the super low crowds really helps to deal with the heat, the longest we waited in line was 20 min (using FP of course for the big rides). OH, and I should add that when we were there last year (Sept.21-Oct.1) they were having a record heat wave!
That's good news. We are totally used to getting there at rope drop, leaving at noon, returning about 4/5ish and staying till late night. And yep, you are soaked 1/2 way thru the day. My hubby is a very grumpy hot person lol. We live in Chicago and he doesn't wear a coat in the winter. He will wear a light hoodie if it gets below 0, but not often. Me, I handle hot better than cold.I am hoping staying at Poly instead of a value will keep him in a good mood. The bus at AS Movies put him over the edge.

We were there end of September last year as well and it was HHHOOOTTTT - going back the start of September and hoping it won't be too bad. If you want to avoid a bus that shares with other resorts but still do the value, Pop Century is great - they have their own bus (doesn't share - unless they start with AoA but haven't heard anything about that). Only problem was the stop was pretty far back from the parks but we loved it there - its where we are staying this year. We do the rope drop, break, back in afternoon too usually but going to try to make breaks more about meals this time - only the 3 of us and DD will be 9 so she should be gtg most days - will all depend if mom can keep up hee hee
We are also now thinking we may do park hopper so on super hot days we can hit HS or AK early and then go to MK or EP in the afternoons where the is more indoor stuff. We sweated our tushes off (helped with the weight loss though - lol) - there are just SO many options and we are only going for a week so trying to pack it all in![]()
Only values we can stay in (unless we get 2 rooms) are ASMu family suite or AoA. We have a family of 5, so we are limited in where we can stay. I wanted to stay at AoA, but we got a better deal on Poly than we could get staying there.
We're doing the park hopper this time, too. Plan on doing a split day at DHS and Ep, but have them flip flopped...Ep in the morning, DHS in the afternoon. I like your strategy better!!! Thanks!
Just an fyi, another option that we've heard of is at Port Orleans - Riverside - they have a trundle bed that pulls out for the 5th child to sleep on (recommends 9 yrs & under)... not sure if price wise it works out as well but may be an option for you...
yeh it was a strategy i just thought of today - I actually got heat stroke when we went to AK in September and missed going on most of the rides (including Everest which I was looking forward to the WHOLE vacation) & I'd like to avoid it again but still enjoy the whole park - we could go there early, enjoy that park and then do another in the evenings - still get the same amount of park but less heat (hopefully)
Man!! DH just got an email from Disney Destinations too, was soooo excited again........ same exact 10% off offer.C'mon Disney, throw me a bone here!
OH they are really toying with you today, aren't they?!?!![]()
