Official September 2012 planning thread! List on page 30!

I am also hoping to make it out of AK early, but we will be traveling with my sister and she LOVES animals, so I'm thinking we might be there longer. However, it is more fun sometimes when you are there with someone who really enjoys it, they tend to make it more exciting for everyone (at least that's what i'm hoping, haha!)

Oh and we plan on having a drink.. that will help!! :goodvibes

We leave in 2 days!! I am now re-considering our plan. Right now we are going to HWS on Mon (PM EMH) and AK on Tues with MNSSHP Tues night. After reading about how big AK is and that there is a lot of walking I'm now wondering if we should do AK Mon so we aren't too worn out. It closes at 5 so we would have that evening to relax, hit pool, etc. Then do HWS Tues. til about 3-4, go to room nap, get freshened up and head to MNSSHP around 5-6. It'll be me, DH & DD4. I just think she will like AK better, as HWS seems like a lot of shows and she doesn't like sitting still long! Hate stressing out about this stuff but want to make the best use of our time! :confused3

Last time we went (2009) my girls were 3 & 5 they both loved DHS.
We did not spend a ton of time at AK. I think just a few hours.
To them its like the zoo, nothing to major after you do the safari ride.
But my girls loved Toy Story. Disney Playhouse, Beauty and the Beast, little Meremaid show, Muppets and so on.

We are at 7 days and a wake up. And as I am just as excited as ever I have realized I really do not want to do Epcot or animal kingdom. Is there something wrong with me?

Having read everyone's comments pro and con, I would like to say that your vacation is exactly that - YOUR vacation - you do what makes you happy.

For me and mine (all adults), we love every park for different reasons and wouldn't dream of not visiting every one. I would suggest if this is your first time, give them all a chance. We do spend more time at MK and EP, but allow 2 whole days for AK (since they close early, we hop in the evening to another).

We are only going to AK to have breakfast at Tusker House and ride Kali River Rapids and Dinosaur, because we've never done them before. I will be out before the parade starts! DD does like the Nemo show, so we'll check that out if the times work. We're going to go early EMH for the Safari and EE. Breakfast at 10, a show or two, a ride or two and we're outta there. Going to DHS that night :)

We have 8:05AM for Tusker House !!
I have never been in AK that early so I am looking forward to that. Plus posts here on Dis says the parks are empty right now

For Kali River Rapids, how wet do you get. Any tips to keep feet dry?
Thanks

I don't know about Kali, we've never ridden that or Dinosaur. That's what spurred us on to actually going to AK.:goodvibes

We've been there 2 or 3 times for a few hours each time and while DD liked the shows and Safari, the rest of us (ds was with us last time we went) just didn't care for it much:confused3

We have decided we need to give it another try, maybe we can figure out what we're missing. :thumbsup2

I did Dinosaur in Feb on a all girls trip to run the princess half. NEVER AGAIN.
But I am a big chicken. I won't do RNR and I am worried I will get sick on Soarin, I won't put DD5 on Dinosaur either, she gets car sick and I am worried this ride would do her in. However she can ride the tea cups all day long with no issue.

HAVE A WONDERFUL TRIP!!!:cutie:
I leave NEXT Friday, Can't wait!!!:hyper:

have a great trip!!!

Enjoy your trip ShhhQ and I wish you many, many, very happy memories!

Thank you all... your time will be here soon!!!

Goofy for DW.... your current plans are exactly what I have planned.... Mon DHS and tues at AK then MNSSHP!!!

We really liked Dinosaur in April; that was a surprise. We were thinking about skipping AK this trip, but now I'm having second thoughts. We didn't ride Kali last time, and was thinking it would be nice to watch Lion King again, since I think it's going away?

Decisions, decisions...8 days for me!

We rode Kali one time and got pretty wet, but it's kinda hard to say how much was due to the ride and how much was due to the monsoon that was passing over AK! Last time I rode it, I didn't get very wet but a couple girls in our raft were soaked!

I think I'm set :thumbsup2

I NEED to leave now! I can't stop shopping. If I stay home any longer all my vacation money will be gone. Made the mistake of going into the Disney store in San Antonio and bought another set of shirts. (They had tons of new designs, what's a girl to do?) We now have 8 matching shirt days. Would be cuter if some of us were still under 18. :sad2: My excuse is that I don't really shop at WDW. I buy an ornament and potato head parts and this year we will pick-a-pearl because I ordered the carriage shaped pearl cages on Ebay (let's not go there). I am sick, sick, I tell you. The 18th can't come soon enough!

I am having the same problem, and to top it off, all my money is being spent on crafts. So not only is the money gone, but I am making my "to do" list longer and longer and it's just stressing me out. It's time for me to go...:upsidedow

Spending spree here too. I found cute tshirts on sale at Target. I bought pfd's for my two littlest because there's a pool at our rental house and they aren't strong swimmers. DH got new sneakers tonight; I need new sandals and at least 2 kids will outgrow their shoes in the nest 3 weeks, guaranteed. And yesterday I spent a ridiculous amount of money on ribbon and tulle to make hairbows and tutus!! Seriously, a ridiculous amount. I'll be returning a bunch of unused ribbon next week -- I only need about 1/3 of what I bought, but I was impulse buying because I was in a hurry. :sad2:

We do like all those rides and my DD is 9, she definitely wasn't ready for it before this! We watched some youtube videos of it and she said she's ready. I can't ride the tea cups at all LOL

I probably won't do it again for another 4 or 5 trips :)

7 days for us! :cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1:

I'm packing this weekend. It's the kids favorite part - we lay out all our outfits, then put them in gallon or 2 gallon ziploc bags. They like it because they get to sit on them to get the air out while DH zips them.

I still have to go to the store to get a few things - 2 more Frogg Toggs, a bottle of vodka, and some coffee pods. (I keep reading the new coffee pods are awful)

lol @ vodka -- guess I'm not the only one who likes to unwind after a long day at the parks! Just don't forget the cranberry juice. :banana

We're actually taking Crystal Light singles to mix in water bottles with the vodka. We did that on our cruise a couple of years ago and it worked out great.
