*Official September 2011 Thread!* Who's joining me?!

I'd take a 2br at SSR over luggage tags ANY DAY!! Love SSR

We never stayed there before so it will be new to us wasn't sure what to request building wise so I just requested a downtown disney view?

Congress Park is a wonderful section. There is a quiet pool and some great rockers that overlook the water and DTD. It's also very quiet and just a short walk to DTD.

Enjoy your stay!

Just a few days short of leaving for vacation. Hoping that the tropical storms and hurricanes take a break from raining down on us here in Vermont.

Love watching the ticker on our trip countdown.

September is my Disney time. Will be at BCV on the 18th. It'll the twins first visit!!! I'm so excited!!

I'm pretty new to this and I just found this thread!!! It's great!

My family leaves in 4 days, will be at POP in 5 days! We've only been one other time in 2006 and stayed off-site. My DD (8) was too little to remember any of it, and my DS (12 now) only remembers the BIG attractions. They think I'm a little GOOFY because I'm SO PUMPED! :cheer2:

Does anyone have any last minute must-do's? must eats? We are on the DDP QS and my husband is a little worried about our dining experiences. Lunches don't really matter, but he likes something a little nicer for dinner. Unfortunately, it is not in our budget. Any recommendations?

Thanks for all your help!

Just wondering...does anyone know what are the crowd levels supposed to be during these dates? :confused3

I've only been before at the end of May 5 years ago.

How neat you're staying onsite this time! You'll have a blast... Pop is my favorite value! :)

If by "a little nicer" you mean table service, it'll be very difficult to get into one now. Because it's the free dining period, restaurants will be filled up (normal park crowd levels will be low, but restaurants are full). I'm sure there are some with open ADRs, but they may be at odd times or places you're not really interested in. Never hurts to try, though, if you are wanting to eat at a particular place. Just be prepared to be turned down. I will be there in 4 days for free dining and we did our ADRs in the late spring and even then we had trouble getting what we wanted...we had to do a lot of switching times and days around just to eat at the restaurants we wanted.

If you mean strictly quick service because of your dining plan, maybe try some of the places in Epcot at the World Showcase. It'll be different than the standard burger and fries, so it may give that "nicer" experience he wants, but still within your dining plan.

Have fun!!

Thanks so much Mary! I think we have to stick with QS because of budget. Have you (or anyone else reading this) ever eaten the ribeye at Pepper market? DH read something about it in a guide book, but he wonders if the steak is a decent quality.

Many thanks!

Only 10 days to go and just did online check-in! We've had a heckuva month - I got bit by a spider and was in the hospital for over a week, and will still be on antibiotics when we go to WDW. Since the bite was on my knee, we'll also have to rent a scooter - but it will be worth it, we are very much in need of a vacation now! I'm having to do a little bit at a time to get us ready, so I got a suitcase packed today for both DS's. DD will pack her own and I'll get mine and DH's ready last. I'm also keeping MNSSHP a secret from the kiddos so I'll sneak their costumes into our "extras and snacks" suitcase. My DM&FIL will arrive this Saturday from Palestine too! They'll do their own packing for Disney, but I'll have to talk them through it so they know what to pack.

Can't wait for next Thursday!

I'll be at the Pop in 4 days as well...hooray:rotfl:
On the quick service you have some pretty good options it's not ALL burgers and fries. In the Animal Kingdom Park At the Flame Tree you can get a BBQ dinner on the QS plan. It's big enough to share. There's also pizzafaris in AK.
DHS - ABC Commisary and Rosies all American have tasty food.
EPCOT - Sunshine Seasons, or any walk up place in world showcase.
There are lots of tasty places to eat. In the next few days when you have time google disney QS restaurants and get a feel for the menus. Then you can plan out meals for dad and everyone else. Oh and remember dessert is included for lunch AND dinners!
Have fun,

DisneyDee - I saw your cruise is in 6 days and I wish you the best vacation. I did a land/sea Disney cruise 10 years ago, and while it was short, it was such a wonderful experience.

Happy Cruising:cheer2:
