***Official Planning Thread -DECEMBER 2024 - Welcome all!***

My ADR day is tomorrow and I am so unprepared! Our dates are 12/29-1/3.

We have 4 day tickets and currently have hoppers. My DD's 13th birthday is 12/31. I figured since we would be up super late and not able to leave EPCOT during the day to rest like we usually do, it would be wise to schedule a rest day for 1/1.

Since we aren't going to be able to hop on 12/31, I am considering removing the hoppers from our tickets. Tough decision.

We have the dining plan and will eat a TS each day. The only TS I know for sure is a must-do is Le Cellier on 12/31 because that's what my kiddo wants for her birthday meal. I will report back tomorrow and let you know how it went!
Big ‘teen’ birthday. If you want to do a custom cake there is a really good thread on it. I ordered an equestrian themed cake at stk71 (contemporary bakery handled the order) post pandemic that was reasonably priced and elaborate (tip had to be added as it was included with our meal). Daisy cakes Orlando is really good (he did an elaborate Haunted Mansion cake for $150).

Me again - just logged into MDE and lo and behold, I have an upgrade offer!

Changing from POP to Coronado Springs for $150... would you do it?! We are huge POP fans, so I really don't know!?
POP has the Skyliner and our teen loves being able to hop to Epcot and HS (we usually stay at AOA nemo suites which are priced similar to deluxe resorts). Coronado springs is spread out (we went in 2011 and never went back).

I would splurge for a deluxe if possible

1/1 has AK extended evening
1/3 has Hs extended evening

If you can get a room in the Tower, I would switch in a heartbeat. But we are just adults. The food there is fantastic, great bars/lounge and just beautiful hotel and rooms. Buses were fine for us.

Otherwise I'd stay at Pop with Skyliner.

I wish I could afford deluxe, but that week it's like $2000+ more than what I am currently paying at POP.

I checked and it's not a tower room, just a standard. I think I am gonna stay with POP. Thanks, @japanese maple and @Disturbia

POP is really good. Friends of ours stayed there and loved it (easy transportation, clean rooms, decent food court). I would prioritize transportation that week esp if you’re planning on going to Epcot 12/31

Reviews on the cake bake shop thread are not great. Tim Tracker’s review is really good:

Just goes to show depends where you read!

I've seen reviews that the cakes are good, but people don't like the price. But the food/dinner reviews have been pretty great all around. And most of the entree prices are not out of line at all in my opinion.

The Key Lime pie is supposed to be divine, as are the cookie bars.

Considering a 6 inch custom cake easily runs you $150+tax and tip at WDW, I don’t think the prices are ridiculous.

Yes. I don't want to jump into the fray because I realize it's all relative as to where you live, but these are dessert prices at a steakhouse near us (a popular one).

Bibbidi bobbidi boutique hair products have almond and sesame oil now!!! Our DD16 is allergic to both (seeds more so than oil) and she went to BBB for 10 years and we always checked and they never used these ingredients.

Our DD4 fortunately doesn’t have food allergies and our teen could stay away from her for one night, but never thought of this.

DS8 is allergic to sesame seeds (got him tested at 5 mos and started peanuts and almond early so he’s ok with those).

Hopefully the nut they’re referring to is coconut.
