***Official Planning Thread -DECEMBER 2024 - Welcome all!***

Crazy to think we have ADR on Saturday already. We updated our trip to come down Dec 4th instead of the 5th. Already did park reservations and miss out on the EEH for AK on 12/4 as we do not land until 6pm, so Epcot it is..lol. Staying at Rivera. Doing MVMCP on 12/5 and going to try and get breakfast in the Castle for that morning. Might be the only dining we do as we may just be doing ALL the snacks :cool1: 12/6 we are doing Epcot, 12/7 is AK and DS at night, and we do not leave until noon do doing RD for HS on 12/8. Can not wait!!!!

I updated your dates!

We are thinking of taking a day off from the parks and resort hopping to see the Christmas decorations, etc. I'm thinking Grand Floridian, Wilderness Lodge, Animal Kingdom Lodge. What am I missing?
The Epcot area resorts have great decorations. The Beach Club has a carousel and last year the Yacht Club had both the trains display and a lighthouse. Boardwalk made their Christmas display even better than before. You will definitely want to check out those resorts. :) Disney Springs has a lot of Christmas trees to check out. :)
Woohoo!!!!!!!!!!!! We leave two months from today! Technically WDW starts on 12/3 but we are staying the night before at MCO Hyatt, which I am weirdly excited about too!

Also, it's my birthday today! :D
Happy birthday! :cake:

Thank you!

Our plan for checking out resort decorations:

AKL - staying here, so that's easy. 😂
Poly, WL, CR and GF- we have Whispering Canyon planned for 6:30 one night, then will take boat to CR and monorail to all resorts for bar hopping/Christmas decoration viewing!
Epcot resorts - We have dinner at Amare at Swan Reserve for 7:30 one night then will bounce around all the Epcot resorts for drinks and to see decorations!

Hi - I made a couple of tweaks to my plans. I'm flying in with the kids the night of 12/16/24 - I got a 5th sleeper at Riverside so that way we have the whole day 12/17 to tour the parks. I'll have Bell services move our bags to the Yacht Club on 12/17. Then we are going to check out on 12/22 and go to Portofino Bay at UO for two nights. This will be our first time there so I'm so excited.

Now that the dates are settled I feel ready to plan. I'm going to buy tickets for the Friday, 12/20 MVMCP. I was originally going to do 12/19 but want to leave that open now in case there are EEH at Epcot or AK that night. I'm hoping the EEH for the rest of December are released soon!

Updated!

Late getting added to the list, but we're going 12/3-12/11, staying offsite at the Residence Inn Flamingo Crossings. Can't wait for ADRs on Friday!

Okay....I think now knowing extra hrs, etc.- I have nailed down plans! Maybe not ride reservations yet, but I'll worry about that later! We ended up with a lot less dining reservations than we originally planned. Lot's of evening stuff this trip.

Monday - land at MCO by 10pm (hopefully, knock wood). Check into MCO Hyatt then wander around taking pictures of empty airport. (I'm weird).
Tuesday - get on over to AKL, check in. Go to Animal Kingdom for a bit and grab lunch. Go back to hotel, get settled, then go to Epcot for the night. Just the two of us.
Wednesday - rest of party arrives. Two of us go to MK for the morning, lunch at Skipper Canteen. Then meet everyone at AKL. They will get settled, then over to AK for deluxe extra hours!!! yay!
Thursday - Boma breakfast around 9:30. Then Disney Springs for a bit of shopping, maybe a snack. Then back to hotel to relax before MK Christmas party, then on to party!
Friday - Sleep in, then Epcot early afternoon until our dinner reservations for 7:30 at Amare. After dinner tour the Epcot resort area to see decorations/have cocktails.
Saturday - breakfast at Trattoria Al Forno at 10 (can't wait!) then maybe ride Skyliner to Riv, Caribbean Beach to see decorations and then to DHS and catch bus back to AK to relax at pool or just around resort. Then Jollywood Nights!
Sunday - Epcot during day and Boathouse for dinner. Hang at Disney Springs checking out all the Christmas trees lit up.
Monday - Animal Kingdom day, Boma dinner at 5 and then Epcot deluxe extra hours
Tuesday - MK until 6 and then dinner at Whispering Canyon at WL. Take boat from there to Contemporary and then ride monorail around all resorts looking at decorations, stopping at a bar or two.
Wednesday - DHS day (maybe), hang at resort and then maybe AK deluxe hours again! Last full day/night.
Thursday - home sweet home to put up all our own Christmas decorations and love on our cat! :D

Joining the bandwagon! I wasn't planning to go to DW until late spring....but I couldn't resist getting in the holiday spirit and just booked a short Solo Christmas Blowout Trip Dec. 12 - 15, 2024! Staying at All Star Sports. Flying in late on 12/12 and leaving bright and early on 12/15!
My plan...
12/13 - Christmas tree stroll at Disney Springs then MVMCP
12/14 - Epcot Festival of the Holidays, Candlelight Processional and then over to Hollywood Studios for Jollywood

I have a one day park ticket voucher from a cancelled MNSSHP that I'll use on 12/14.

Looking forward to finding out the lineup for the Candlelight Processional and will make a dining ressie. Most likely will try for the 1st show of the candlelight processional...so I can get the most out of Jollywood.

I usually make most of the plans for our trips. But my sister is checking in one day earlier than us, so she is able to make ADRs today. It is making me nervous because she is in control, instead of me. :scared:

We talked about restaurants we wanted to go to. And she will have a car, so that opens us up to more choices. And everyone will have an annual pass for the first time during these extended family trips. Which gives us lots of options for parks and plans. :)
