Official October Code Watch

Hi, new member here. My paid in full trip @ POR is 10/7 - 10/12. I've been reading about the codes for a couple of weeks. Tonight when I started reading I spazzed. I called to get a Disney Visa and was told it would take 10-30 days to receive the card. Someone posted earlier about calling and applying for the Visa and getting the discount today. Am I missing something?? Any help/insight would be appreciated.

Sounds a little tricky but doable. Good luck. :thumbsup2

I didn't think that CM's would apply codes to your reservation unless you knew the code? So how can you call in to see if there is a code?

No codes for us either - my TA and I have been playing e-mail tag all morning.

We are headed down Oct 6 - 13 and currently booked at Pop. The best they could do for us was a transfer to ASMusic and it was going to be a standard room. Since we have three children that normally have to be carried in sleeping from the bus each night - we opted to stay at Pop with the preferred room. Some of the standard rooms at ASMusic can be quite a hike from the bus.

She said they were averaging about 20% of their Visa holders that were eligible for the code getting actually moved to a promotion. ASMusic was the only value she found, no moderates or deluxes at all that fit for us (we have 3 rooms). I can't believe last year I called 2 weeks after the code hit and was able to move 3 rooms over with no problem. This STINKS!!!

Nothing here, either. All this waiting and it stinks! :headache:

Applied for the card today, got a temp # from Chase Disney Visa. Called WDW to apply Disney Visa code to ressie. Initial CM said I had to have card in hand and had to change over the phone. I explained that I had a temp # and that on the "Make a Payment" page, it had the last 4 of our new card as well as an exp. date for the card. She was very nice, but said there was nothing she could do. I insisted on talking to a supervisor (and when I say insisted, I mean she did NOT want to let me talk to any one else). When I did speak with a supervisor, she ended up 'feeling my pain', went to her supervisor and he said that since general public codes are coming out in three days, give me the discount and I was to call in with my number as soon as I got the card.

So....bottom line....7 nights at POP (had to go from pref. to stan. due to availability), 8-day hoppers with WPFAM, plus dining, went from $2400 to $1900. About a $375 discount if you account for the pref to stan. change.

YEEE-HAAWWWWW!!!!

I'm glad that worked out for you.

 :cool1: :yay:

Saved about 550 on my trip hey not much but it paid for the dinning plan my Dh wants us to have .

We tried to move to WL and nothing was available . She said no code for there : (

Now I need to go back and read to see if anyone got the WL for a code

Does anyone know when the AP discount rates for October will come out based on past experience?

Last year, it was only a couple days later than the DV code. AP rates came out on a Wednesday last year of this same corresponding week. It was my first day back to work.

So it could be tomorrow??  (hoping)

At this moment I have been on hold for 8 min and counting this morning.
Maybe that is a sign!

some of the websites are speculating that now that the VISA codes are out that the AP/FL res and gen pub code should be out this week. my AAA TA looked back at the last few years and it was this week. we are both hoping for the code(peanut butter jelly time)

No AP rates as of 7:13 EDT this morning. HAve to admit the agent wasn't happy with my asking. He started off very bubbly and then went flat.

Drat and double drat...:( MAkes me almost want to get a Disney Visa!

I just got off the phone with a lovely woman who took the time to check for me. Saddly nothing past 9/30.

:sunny: :sunny: :sunny:

Thanks WDWRunner! That CM doesn't know that there are tons
of us waiting for your report instead of sitting on hold to ask ourselves!

I checked as well...just like everyone else, I was told no APs for October yet. :guilty:
