***OFFICIAL*** October 2011 - Updated 10/08/11

Just stopping by to say hey, after almost 58 hours without power thanks to Irene , it finally came back tonight.

Upon checking my mail I see that touring plans updated the crowd calendar for my week and now my DHS day is a day to avoid thanks to Fantasmic! being showed every day. I picked the day I did originally cause it was suppose to low crowd level 1.1 now it went to 3.4 :headache:

I have to look over my plans but I think at this late date I won't be changeing my days around

Good to have you back!! :thumbsup2

I'm with you on the DHS thing. We're sticking with what we have for now as far as park days go and will adjust on the fly if we need to.

Mine did to... but a 3.4 is still NOT that bad in the grand scheme of things. Yes, it will be busier then it would have been before, but with a good touring plan (which I know you have) and use of fastpass, it will be great!

And yes, part of that is a pep talk for myself as well! :lmao:

I haven't been on the boards in awhile, but since realizing I only have like 50 days left I have become re-obsessed!

EEK!! I am so excited, less than 8 weeks!! I am going to need to get an anti-depressant for when we leave, I can already tell I am going to feel sad and defeated lol.

I agree. 3.4 is no big deal with a touring plan. I also wonder how accurate it is. It's been a while nice they've run Fantasmic every night. Who knows how accurate the model is in this scenario.

Personally, the change works out for us. We're going to DHS on our arrival night *just* to see Fantasmic. The change should draw off some of the crowd.

I got out of obsessed mode last week and I'm resisting the urge. We leave one day before you though. :goodvibes

Fortunately I have something to keep me busy. I start a scrapbooking challenge tomorrow - layout a day (LOAD) for 26 days. Plus converting from contractor to employee (ha e to do all the benefit stuff). Plus I'm co-chairing the PTA this year. And yesterday I priced out a new computer. I still have a ton of Disney stuff to do (like book a room) but I'm trying to keep it on the back burner. :rolleyes1

Figmentchick - Please add me for October 8-15 at Pop

Will do. I thought I already added you, but I'll add you in just a moment.

I know, guys, I can't believe how fast time is flying! I think I'm down to 50 days today (I'll have to wait until my ticker appears to know for sure). And from here to the Disney trip we are just so busy, time will pass that much quicker.

Glad everyone is starting to see better days! Take care today!!!

Have you guys seen the new Halloween party threads? There's one going with the new trick or treat spots and names, tells who's going to be out, and a change to the villian show (Dr. Falcier is hosting), and they is going to be a countious villians meet area with Hades and Gaston (and others). There's another one with pictures of Halloween merchandise.

If anyone knows where the Halloween super thread from last year is, I'ld like to see it. I'm curious to see pics of the treats and decor.

Do you have a link to the new threads? Thanks.

i also want to thank everybody for their wonderful words and prayers. This board is a great place to share both sorrow and joy.

Just thought i would give an update on our lives since they have been turned upside down this past week. We had all the funeral arrangements done, when DH's brother was admitted to the hospital with pnemia (thats what DS called it). So now the funeral has been moved back until Tuesday. Kate will miss her first day of school and I will be celebrating my 45 birthday mourning a wonderful man.

Again thank you all for your thoughts and prayers.

Oh my goodness, your family is in my prayers. I hope your BIL recovers quickly. Take care of yourself and hang in there. We'll be here when the world turns right side up.

:love::hug:

We are off to Corbin, KY for my grandmother's funeral. It is about a 4 hour drive from Nashville. We are planning a celebration, as my granny would kick our a$$es if we did anything else! That is how she would say it, too.

We decided the kids could stay in the hotel for the funeral and just join us for the church supper after. My DS is 14 and DD 8, so he can watch her easily. I gave them the choice, as funerals can be scary/upsetting for kids and I don't want to force them into attending if I can avoid it. I have taken some flack for that decision - why do people want you to raise your kids they way they raise theirs? :confused3

Anyway - I have to do something Disney in this post! I am on the fence on a dining plan. On the one hand, I want to try a few of the TS restaurants and the can be expensive. On the other hand, I don't know if I want to be tied to a TS meal every day. Decisions, decisions!:rolleyes1

First, sorry for your loss, but it sounds like you better have a party or Grandma is going to come back to "haunt" you ( I mean this funny as my grandmother has said that to me) My grandmother is not excepted to make it to the end of this year, so we have had many discussions about how we are to act. :) and while in her hospital bed and I was crying she said I wasn't allowed to cry we were to all laugh and have a good time together while we could or she was going to come back and haunt me. I said "grandma that is mean" she said " But it sure would be fun". Gotta love that and try to do as she has requested.

As for the kids - they are YOUR kids, and you know them, so don't worry about what others say.

Be safe driving.

Sorry for your loss, sometimes when it rains it pours, but remember that there is always sunshine after the rain.

Prayers and love to your family:hug:

srauch & im4kycats, we're thinking of you. srauch, I'm sure your birthday will still be great (and I'm sure hubby and your daughter can take you out to dinner next weekend or something). We'll celebrate next week on here for you! I'm sorry your daughter has to miss the first day of school, though. But, that happens sometimes....I'm sure it won't be a big deal.

Drive safely, cats! And I agree about the other people raising your kids thing. DH and I are very different from our families in how we raise the kids. My two oldest (DS2 wasn't even thought of yet) went to my Pop Pop's funeral when he passed BUT he lived with us. They saw him everyday, played cards with him, and loved him just as much as I did (and still do). If I had tried to keep them away, I think they both would've skinned me alive. They each gave him a white rose and my uncles and their wives went about nuts over that small token over their love. Grrrr..... Hope your kids (and you) are doing alright.

Now...on to the dining plan. If I were staying off site, I probably would not have missed the dining plan unless you want to eat at a signature restaurant or one that requires more than one credit. I think that's what makes it such a good deal for us; because one of our meals is at California Grill and that place would easily be a $150 meal for us. Now, I would love, love, love to have the QSDP for my first two nights, but alas I cannot get it because I am not getting passes for those days.

So, let us know where you plan to eat those few, select TS meals and we can give you our opinions (which I'm sure will be many and varied! ;)).

I have a little bit of good news - it's not earth shattering news or anything, but still...

I saved another $22 on our rental car today just by checking the Rental Car site - and they were offering a discount until the end of Dec. that they were not offering when I first booked it. YAY!!!

Now I still just have to see if I can figure out something with the stupid shirts.
And I still can't decide about MNSSHP?????

 Congrats on staying on-site! I know that was a hard decision for you to make, but ya know...you only live once, so ya might as well live it up!

Found DH a light blue button-down shirt for his Ken costume today on clearance at Target for $4.98! Now I just need to get the leopard print painted on.:rotfl: His ebay shorts arrived and they are a little darker blue than I was expecting, but they will work and they were long enough that he can roll them up a few times without looking COMPLETEY ridiculous. Though, I guess when pairing it with the leopard print shirt, his "ridiculousness" level will GREATLY increase. Plus, we can't forget about the blue ascot!:lmao: This MNSSHP is gonna be great!

Today, I also ordered DD the ear hat she wanted while we were @WDW last June, but we never saw it again that trip and had to leave without it. I plan to give it to her as we board the plane in an attempt to distract her from the "impending doom" that she is expecting. :rotfl: She has never flown and she is SO nervous! DS is excited, but I ordered him a Jake and the Neverland Pirates tee as a surprise because I knew he wouldn't wear any ears. He is strictly a baseball cap kid.Haven't been on here much because I am down in Indiana and going shopping tomorrow with my sister (and her entourage) for her wedding gown!:bride: Have to be back to Ohio on Monday for meet the teacher night and school starts Wednesday! Once school starts, time is REALLY gonna start to fly by.

Only 63 days!!!

Well...in a surprising twist, I showed DS his sister's ear hat, and said he would like to have one of his own with his name on it. He wanted the Mickey pants hat with the stickup tail, but it has not been on the website for weeks-- until TODAY!!! I just ordered it and I cannot wait to surprise him with it on the plane. I just hope I can get the hats through security without the kids seeing them! So excited!

44 days!!!
