I just finished watching Tangled and now the Princess & the Frog is on. I was just telling hubby how much I can't wait to meet Tiana. Hmmm....now I'll have to find a way to end the day on a Disney note. DS2 brought Scene It into me while I was trying to lay down for my nap (didn't work....I'm still up). Maybe I'll go and play that with him.

Quick question- we're looking at October 2012, but there's no official thread and I have a question... Of course, we've likely ALL heard about how WDW has said they are not likely to offer many more free dining dates in the future, blah, blah, blah... What month are free dining codes for October typically (in past years) released? Hubby is concerned about locking us into a vacation without a discount or free dining at the time of booking... Any advice or information on this would be MUCH appreciated. Thank You!!

This year's Free Dining for October, was released on August 3rd.

Eeeww... Maybe we'll get lucky and get a code released MUCH sooner than 2 months out! Or maybe even a military discount extended to cover October 2012... Ugh! Thanks for the info!!

WAIT- Hold the phones- are Disney credit card holders given codes sooner than the general public? Is that right or have I mis-understood? We just recently opened an account due to a $200 gift card deal!

Don't have all the answers you are looking for..but I have a link for the Oct 2012 thread:

Hope to see you over there!

I can't tell you how much I agree with this statement!!!!:)

The zoo should be good; I love zoos. We're spoiled, though. We are members of America's oldest zoo, the Philadelphia Zoo, and we go there quite often. Actually, we just had a new jaguar cub born this year, so my kids are so excited. The year we first became members, a jaguar cub named Katia was born and we've been able to watch her grow. It is kinda cool to do that!

Have fun on your trip!!!

On another note: we are fine. We decided to stay in the house and I'll explain why. When we went out on Friday night (to get batteries that hubby didn't get earlier in the week....that's a whole other story!!!:lmao:), we went out during high tide. The tide was actually really low. I mean, really low. So, we watched the river all night and into yesterday and decided to stay put. I made ham steaks and scalloped potatoes for lunch yesterday. I hung out in my bedroom watching the news while the kids had the TV in the living room. We watched the track and realized it probably wasn't going to be as bad as the media was projecting it to be.

Now, we did have multiple tornado warnings last night, BUT....so did my mom and that's where we would have gone. A tornado supposedly touched down about two miles from my home, but nothing has been confirmed yet. The river has stayed where it is supposed to be and hasn't crested and flowed down the road to my house. We do have The Isle of FigmentChick going on.....we're surrounded by water behind and on the sides of the house, but it has actually gone down considerably since 2am.

So, we've weathered the storm (ha ha ha.....look, I have to find humor somewhere....I don't think I've slept since Wednesday night). I'm gonna go check on the little one and then rest a little.

Everyone take care and I'll pop back on in a little while (I really need to get a new laptop!).

Hey FigmentChick Glad to hear you are ok. Those Tornado warning had me on edge here too. Irene is gone from Ct but we have no power and no idea when we will, I just wanted to hop on real quick to see if you were alright on my laptop battery power and my wifi which if I am lucky I will have 2 hours time total so I probally will not be back until our power comes back on

I have a friend in RI (and fellow Disney lover), she said she is lucky she has power....seems that most of RI does not. You stay safe and get back to us when you can. No hurry.

Seems I spoke too soon....we do have water in our crawl space, although it's not that bad. I'm just hoping I can get it out before the standing water becomes an issue.

Keep safe, everyone.

Good morning all! Working from home today. Last night the binky fairy came for a visit since DD turned 3 on Saturday and, you know, that's when the binky fairy comes. It was not a good night for DD. Between the tornado warnings all night on Saturday and the binky fairy melt down last night, I decided to keep her home today in the hopes of a good nap. We'll see how it goes.

Figment Chick - not happy you stayed but happy it wasn't all that bad. I hope the water stopped coming in. I know last night was supposed to be the crest for many of NJ's rivers and such. PA lucked out and crested yesterday afternoon, so we're pretty clear today. My work is having minor issues, but for the most part we're up. Lots of power outtages, but that's to be expected. We're fine here. Just some very scary moments, all of which DH slept through, as usual.

55 days here for me and I CANNOT WAIT!!! This year seems to just bring one hit after another. It seems that's how it works, doesn't it? Maybe Disney does that on purpose so you appreciate the trip even more! I wouldn't doubt they have that power! :rotfl:

It's funny you all mentioned Disney Sunday yesterday. We ended our day with The Princess and the Frog. DD seems to be into Tiana right now.

Have a great day all!

47 days! :banana::banana::banana::banana::banana:

We are all paid up, but that 45 day mark seems to be BIG. :rotfl:

We just found out yesterday that DD's best friend will be in the World when we are - and they are going to the party on the 18th with us! Very dramatic faint and pose by DD (8) when she heard the news. I gave it a 10, it was really very good. :lmao::lmao:

It was a Disney Sunday for us, as well. All Toy Story, all the time.

Way to go, Idaho! (I love that line!)

Happy Monday, everyone - I hope all on the East coast are OK.

Well, we lost power yesterday, and still don't have it today (in MA). (I'm posting from work - shhhh!) But it was a lot better than it could have been - no damage, no water. And of course, no Disney Sunday!

WAIT- Hold the phones- are Disney credit card holders given codes sooner than the general public? Is that right or have I mis-understood? We just recently opened an account due to a $200 gift card deal!
Just as normal, the response is - sometimes. This time, though, Disney VISA holders did not get advanced booking for the free dining. And when they do, it's only by a couple of days anyway.

I'm still deciding where to stay, just because the AKV I have is so expensive! I booked a couple of great deals off-site as backup: the new Wyndham hotel at Bonnet Creek - not the timeshare/resort - and Caribe Royale. And now Buena Vista Suites has a new Mousesavers deal! :headache: Anyone want to lay odds about how many reservations I can have at once? :lmao:Even with two cars (for my DH to go golfing and DD and me to the parks) those deals are much cheaper! And as an AP holder, I get free parking at Disney, so that's not a deal breaker.

There aren't any mods available for my week, and the only other on-site(cheaper) option would be SSR, which I'm not that crazy about.

Oy! Too many decisions!

snykymom - I would so go with Buena Vista Suites. And guess what? They definitely have room because I just cancelled my reservation there this morning. I figured I'd get rid of all the old stuff (and the back-up stuff) before September hits, so I can "start" (or is it restart?) clean.

Lisa, glad you're ok, too. The only reason we have water in the crawlspace is because of the leaching from the ground. I think everyone in Jersey is having that problem. The water has no where to go, so it leaks into the house through the concrete. I'm borrowing a pump from one of my coworkers, so I'll be good. And I noticed late last night, we had a little water come in the office, too. But it didn't touch the comics, so we're good. I'll just shampoo it tomorrow night when I get home from work.

*sighs* I feel like I don't have a lot to do for my vacation anymore. :( There's really no more planning to be done since we did get free dining for most of our stay and those reservations (even hubby's Akerhaus) are taken care of. I cancelled all the back-ups (dining and room reservations). I do have to reserve a car, but after that, I'm pretty much done.

Guess it's back to watching my travel channel DVDs. :D

Have a great day, everyone!!!!

I'm glad to hear the power out is the worst of it for you. I know our office in MA is out as well, so they seem to have a lot of outtages up there. Hopefully you get power restored soon!! :goodvibes

Have a great day, everyone!!!!

You can figure out a ressie for me for dinner 10/23 since AirTran has pushed our flight back beyond what will be reasonable for us to make our CP ADR and still stay in MK for some fun until MNSSHP that night. I don't want to tease DD by going just for dinner and then leaving, you know? I'd love to get an ADR for 1900PF that night but everything is really booked up right now. I am hoping something will open up as we get closer to the trip and people change plans around (like we're doing!). I keep checking every day. *sigh*

We're watching Shrek now. DD loves this movie. She walks around saying "Ogres have layers, onions have layers" and singing the Duloc song. :rotfl:

Good thing it's a light work day! :thumbsup2

Have you stayed there? What can you (or anyone on this thread!) tell me about it??

Count us in...We'll be in the World 10/2-10/12 staying @ CBR. Me, DH and our 3 Disney Princesses ,10 (turns 11 on 10/4),2,and 1. This will be our first stay @ CBR. Can't wait just got our ME packet today!!!! YEAH!!!!!

We are 59 days today :cool1: I ordered my daughters birthday cake today and am debating on whether to order form Disney Florist or do my own surprises for the room. We did the in room celebration in January for my older daughter and they don't want the same thing any ideas she is turning 11?

DS (age 4) just asked me if you could change is custome from Peter Pan to an Acorn Super Hero. I asked him what does an Acorn Super Hear do? His response "I keep Disney Acorn Free" I asked what about Chip and Dale. His response " I give them all the acorns I find".

Just love the way little ones think.

I haven't stayed there, but I had a reservation to in case I decided not to do a split stay. It looked great with lots of space, isn't far at all from any of the parks, has great customer service (at least over the phone), and doesn't have a bad review on Trip Advisor. We're not big breakfast people, but they also offer a complimentary breakfast each morning.

The only reason I'm not staying there now is because I got the free dining all but two nights of my stay. And for those two days, it's not a big deal. We were planning on eating counter service our first day for lunch & dinner anyway and Friday the 22nd is our MK day. Since there is a party that night, we were planning on going to EPCOT in the evening anyhow. So, we'll eat our way around the world for dinner! :)

Anyhow...it looked like it would fit my family perfectly and I do plan on staying there when we go down again (unless Dinsey gives me a really great rate!). I booked it at the end of July with a code from Mousesavers.

Added. Welcome and happy planning!!!!

Lisa, I can keep checking for you, too, if you'd like. Have you thought about maybe Akershaus that night instead. That way, your DD could have her princesses that first night.
On another note: since Airtran keeps pushing back your time, have you tried getting on an earlier flight. US Air did that to me our last trip and I ended up at the time I originally wanted and paying less because they inconvenienced me by changing the times. It's worth a shot, right? If it makes you feel any better, I am traveling with DH who suffers from severe anxiety (he'll be catatonic by the time we get through security), DD11, DS10 and DS2. We have to arrive at the airport no later than 5am (we take off at 6:30am). So, maybe an earlier flight will work for you.

Talk to you later!

Haha... I love the logic!

Yeah, I've checked Akershus and they're booked. Everything is. I think it's a busy travel day, so probably a busy dinner day. We have Akershus for breakfast Tuesday morning so that's good anyway. We may just end up doing counter service Sunday in Epcot and save the table service for another day. I hate to load up the table service on multiple days, though. We had two table service meals on Wednesday but were open on Thursday and liked that, but I might book us on Thursday now and free up Sunday. :confused3 I don't know, we'll see how it goes. I check daily so hopefully something will come up.

The earliest flights prior to ours is a 7AM flight and I don't want to get DD up early enough to make that flight. If there was an 8 or 9 it would be perfect. Ours was originally a 10:30 and they bumped it to 11:45 so now there is no flight between 7AM and 11:45AM, which really ticks me off. Anything between those times would be perfect if it was non-stop. Southwest has a 10:30 but it's $50 more expensive than what we paid and I'm just not forking over another $150 for an hour and a half difference, you know?

Sooooooo frustrating!! :headache:

We're on to Toy Story 3 now today.
