***OFFICIAL*** October 2011 - Updated 10/08/11

We booked last week for 7 nights at POFQ October 26-Nov 2! Now to come up with the other $1300 that's on our balance by 9/11 our 45 days out point! Once it's paid then I will really be doing the happy dance! I'm sure we will be able to swing it but you never know anything could happen! Keeping my fingers crossed! I have always wanted to go during Halloween and this is like a dream trip because I am finally old enough for F&W!

Welcome to the thread, this will be our first time attending F&W and MNSSHP I am quite excited, my 45 day point is fast approaching Sept 4. One more payment to go

Good Morning, everyone!!!! I hope you all had a great weekend. I will add Dynamite626, Uncle Dude, memster and vikalamode to the first post in just a few minutes. Trying to get situated at work, but stuff keeps popping up.

anyway......I looked like a drowned rat the second we got out of the car on Firday night. lol We literally shut the car doors and starting walking to the venue when BAM!, the skys opened up. Yuck. We stayed underneath the overhang as much as possible, but the eventually made us go out into the rain to sit and watch the opening acts. Put it this way: it rained so much that my umbrella was leaking because it was so saturated! LOL Selena put on a great show, though. Her costume changes were great and quick (as the mother of a twirler/dancer, I understand how long it takes to change costumes). Most of all, the girls loved it!!!!

My Comic Con weekend was pretty decent. Stan Lee was just so gracious and such a pleasant man. He told me I had a great-looking family and commented on all the kids' t-shirts (Amy had supergirl, Kyle had Flash, and Quinn had a Superman shirt). He said it was ok they liked DC over Marvel!!! :rotfl: Just soooo great! Didn't go out for the Mexican dinner I wanted because DH started to not feel good, but it was still a good day. And yesterday, I sat with Amanda Conner (she is an artist that does a lot of cover art for Power Girl, Supergirl and Zatanna) for over 15 minutes. We chatted about the kids, where she lived in Florida, her work, etc. Such a great person!!! To have that kind of time with one of my favorite artists was great.

Oh, Oh!!! I have to give a shout out to a member of the DISboards that I met in the Stan Lee autograph line yesterday: HopeSparkles!!!!! She and I just started chatting and, lo and behold, she's a member here. What a small world!

And DH does know about the princess breakfast. I can't keep anything a secret. lol

So...now I am 59 days away (right? :)) and I have to get the kids ready for the start of school and start doing other things. Among those is freaking out about the early ticket pick-up thing. There is a thread going on on the resrot-discounts area about early ticket pick-up and how you can/cannot do it. I'm just worried because even though I have spoken to guest relations (no less that three times) and been told yes, other people are getting answers directly from Disney Guest Communications that say "no". I'm just worried I am going to have issues once we get down there. That would be a heartbreaker. And, until I actually have my park hoppers in hand on the 20th, I am going to be stressing over this.

So, how is everyone else? Are we all getting that much more excited!!!! Less than two months now for many of us!!!!

Your weekend sounds almost perfect were it not for the rain. I took one of my DS to an outdoor concert once under the same conditions I was so wet my ticket stub disinigrated(sp) in my jean pocket. These are the things that make for great memories :goodvibes

I saw a few threads about that not being able to pick up your tickets early, I hope it is not true since so many people have counted on being able to do that.

I am tweeking my ADRs again :rolleyes1 I have 3 dinners and 1 lunch I may or may not change if something magically appears on the reservation site

Hi all! I am playing catch up this morning. My grandmother had a stroke last week and I have been hanging out at the hospital for several days. She has a DNR, so we are just waiting. If any of you pray, she could use some prayers for peace.

We are down to 54 days, but it is hard to be excited right now. I know she would be fussing at me if she knew I was moping around - she has always been a bit of a pistol!

OK - thanks for letting me ramble!

Shelly

I can't believe it is only 37 days away!

I'll be there from Sep 29 thru 10/4. As of now my cousin claims he is coming, but he still hasn't bought his flight! And he has flaked before.

First night will be at the Bay Lake Towers, the rest of the nights will be at the Beach Club Villas. :cloud9:

Oh, and I will be running the Wine and Dine Half Marathon.

I can't wait!

Oh Shelly, I am so, so sorry to hear that news. It sort of puts everything into perspective. My grandmother passed the same way so my thoughts are especially with you right now. Ramble on as much as you'd like. I will send thoughts her way for peace, however she may find that, and for comfort to you and your family. :grouphug:

Shelly -

You and your family, especially your grandmother are in my thoughts and prayers. I know how hard a time like this can be for everyone. I had to do a DNR on my Mother

Figment- Wow, sounds like an amazing weekend- so cool to meet Stan Lee.

and LOL at meeting another DISer there, it really is a small world! so cool!;):thumbsup2

so what's the early ticket pick up situation- I can't remember- is it just your regular hopper or MNSSHP tickets?

Shelly- so sorry to hear about your grandmother- she is in my prayers. Sending some pixie dust your way too.

sort of OT but getting in the fall mood and spent the morning baking. Made Pumpkin Spice cupcakes and Zucinni (sp) cookies. Time to take a little break and enjoy the smell of all the fall spices.

Mmmm, pumpkin cupcakes are one of the things I need ot learn how to make gluten free. It is a fall staple in our house. I love me some pumpkin! Never heard of zucchini cookies, thought I have had zucchini bread and muffins. Are they similar in taste?

I just ate my lunch and yet my mouth is watering. My goodness, that sounds good!

Oh, and have I mentioned I don't mind AT ALL if my threads go off topic. I love hearing about what's going on with you all as well as all of our planning (hence, me and my Stan Lee gushing). Go OT all you want!

Shelly, I am so sorry, but I am glad she has a DNR. I have had one since I was 18. I grew up in my grandparent's house and was a volunteer firefighter. They both had DNRs and I saw way too many accidents to realize I did not want to be on life support of any kind. My grandfather suffered from Alzheimer's and I spent his last few days next to him in the hospital. I understand what you're going through. Your family, you and your grandma are all in my prayers. :grouphug: You just take care and know there are people here for you should you need it.

exwdwcm and sjs....yes, it really was a great weekend. I'm fortunate I was able to get the VIP pass. I really did enjoy just walking around with DS2 (soon to be 3). He LOVES comic book characters and just went about wild because they were everywhere: displays and walking around. I bought him some Greg Horn artwork for his room. Greg actually told me he'd have a Harley Quinn (the Joker's side kick) available for me if I made it to the NYC Con. It's the weekend before we leave for Disney, but we're already planning on heading up just for Sunday (just me and DH). When Greg Horn and Amanda Conner tell you they'll have something for you if you go....you go!!!!

And as for early ticket pick-up....

I spent a good deal on the phone with Disney this morning to get the issue resolved. I am referring to picking up your MYW tickets early from the package not the MNSSHP tickets. For instance, our package check-in date in October 23rd, but we are checking in for room only on October 20th. I wanted to make sure I could pick-up my park hoppers (or MYW) tickets on the 20th at DTD. DTD Guest Relations is an unequival yes. They will do this with no problems. But, if you call any other Disney numbers, including ticketing, you are told no. Finally, I couldn't take it any more this morning and read the woman in ticketing word for word what Cheshire Figment stated on the ticket sticky here on the DIS (after she kept telling me in no way could it be done). Needless to say, she was shocked I knew as much as I did. She said "could you please hold, I need to contact guest services?". When she came back on, all she did was apologize. She said she definitely learned something new today and that yes, I could pick the MYW tickets up early at the entrance to any of the theme parks or DTD. She told me the tickets would be paper tickets (which I knew) and that they would be separate from the KTTW card (which I knew). She actually thanked me for giving her the info!!!

So....long story short (too late!)...you can pick up your MYW tickets early from your package, just as Cheshire Figment states. Of course, I'll still be nervous as all heck until I actually have them in hand, but it's good to be armed with names and dates you spoke to people.

DD has baton practice tonight and then I am running to Delaware for some errands (I need to go to BJs). After that I plan on watching the episode of True Blood I missed last night because I was comatose and play on eBay to try and find some batches of booster pins to buy for the kids to trade.

Have a great afternoon! I am going to go and look busy at work...... :rotfl:

Oh, goodness, am I long winded. Sorry, but I forgot something.....

when I was in line for the Stan Lee autograph signing, two people told me they thought DS2 was 4!!!! I about freaked. I said "Does he really look 4?!? I'm heading to Disney and I don't have a ticket for him!" And it was actually HopeSparkles that said it was because of his height. I told her DH is six and a half feet tall, so I can't really control that. LOL

So, I plan to make a copy of his birth certificate and put in the camera bag to bring with me to the parks. I would feel awful being questioned, but I would rather be prepared than not.

First of all - way to be a teacher!! I always love when you teach the experts something!

Second of all - I've been trying to look busy at work all day, so if you need some tips.... :rolleyes1

Thank you all for the prayers, hugs and pixie dust! The DIS is such a wonderful community.

Figment - I am two episodes behind on True Blood! I hope I can find time to watch, but I have a feeling I'll be doing a marathon one day to catch up! ;)

Shelly, I am so sorry to hear about your grandmother. I understand the heartache and waiting and how hard it can be. I just got word that my grandmother's kidneys have fully shut down and she has not yet decided if she wants to do dialysis. So, my thoughts are with you, your grandmother, and the rest of your family.

I have been in the fall mood for about a week now. I recently went through all my cooking magazines and cut out the "keep" recipes and organized them into binders. There are so many recipes I had forgotten about that I really want to try but so many of them are fall/winter items! I can not wait for it too cool down... plus that means Disney is closer!

LOL I have a ledger that I keep for all our miscellaneous payments. I am re-writing a section where I unadvertantly entered the checks in backwards chronological order (newest to oldest instead of the other way around) and I am adding the ones from the past couple of weeks. It's busy work and I've been meaning to do it for awhile so it is off my desk. So, today's the day!

Hubby and I watch it loyal every Sunday at 9pm (I turn into a pumpkin at 10, I swear. lol). However, last night I laid down for a "nap" at 6:30 and he tried and tried to wake me up with no luck. I apologized this morning and he was like "no big deal, I was alseep by 9:30 myself". So it's all good. I think we'll watch it tonight after all our errands are done with (I hope...if not, I have to wait until the weekend. :().

the cookies are somewhat "healthy" the are loaded with raisens, walnuts (optional) and of course a little chocolate. They are very close to applesauce raisen cookies. If you want the recipe just let me know.
