***OFFICIAL*** October 2011 - Updated 10/08/11

off topic but I think I slept through summer. Today is May 2 and it is only 34 degrees and the high was a heat wave of 40. How can I plant flowers and have summer come and turn into Autumn is Mother Nature never gets us out of Winter.
I know, we got the crazy chilly weather even in Dallas- highs in the 40s! it was just bizarre!

After much thinking and playing around with ADR's I have totally revised our agenda so that we are not at Epcot on Saturday. Here is the new revised one and suggestions would be marvelous.
Wednesday Epcot 9:00 –10:00
Teppan Edo 7:10

Thursday Oct 20 – DHS 9:00 –11:00
Brown Derby 5:30 I assume you know this is EMH night/F! night at DHS (big crowds) and this is a Fantastmic ressie maybe?

Friday Oct 21 – Epcot 8:00-9:00
La Hacienda de San Angel 6:15 we enjoyed it here and had great seats for Illuminations out the window!

Saturday Oct 22 –Animal Kingdom 9:00 – 5:00
Captains Grille 7:00

Sunday Oct 23 – 4:00 MNSSHP
No ADR’s yet still debating on a late lunch at House of Blues

Monday Oct 24 – MK 9:00 – 12:00
Kona Café 7:05 (doing to try and get something a little earlier)
looks great!!

Just ordered my MNSSHP tickets for 10/16! Woohoo!
yeah! we are going right after you on 10/18.

I'm waiting until this weekend to buy my MNSSHP tickets (18th). I'm planning on calling WDW travel any buy through them, that way I get everything at the same time a handy holder to store all our travel info in.

So we have about 5 months to plan what to "be" for the party. DD(10) is constantly changing her mind, DS(3) is leaning heavily for Captian Hook. DH (pffft) I'll be lucky if I can get him to wear a superman shirt. I (if I drop enough wieght by then) am going to be a flirty Alice in Wonderland. I plan to take the necessary precautions so the costume isn't "offensive" to others and not worry about giving a "free show" while chasing kids around the park.:thumbsup2

this is what I was thinking (with some sort of bloomer undernieth)

We are going the 18th too, but haven't ordered our tickets either- i have to call and order anyhow for the DVC discount.

Interesting to read about not doing Epcot on Friday and Saturday. I never would have known that. We have ADRs booked elsewhere already on the weekends so we should be ok. :goodvibes

Is the MNSSHP really that great? It would be $322 for our family of 6. That's a LOT of money for candy. :rotfl: I can think of like a million other things I'd rather do with that money, but would consider doing the party if it was the best thing since sliced bread. :lmao: I'm contemplating Pirate League for my 2 boys. I wish that WDW had a Studio 365 like Disneyland. I think my girls are too old for BBB. Maybe I'll have them to Pirate League too.

I think I've got all my ADRs set. We have breakfast at Tusker House, lunches at Mama Melrose and Le Celliers and dinners at T-Rex (OOP on that one), 'Ohana, Nine Dragons and either LTT or Garden Grill. I have both of those booked, but can't decide which one. I'd sort of prefer GG for the character interaction, but the only ADR I could get was at 7:45 and the parks close at 9. Not sure I want to eat that late. :confused3 We've only ever eaten at 'Ohana, so it's all new restaurants to us. We're picking ones that we feel our kids will enjoy (last trip was just DH & I) so hopefully they won't suck. :rotfl2:

Being that this is our first WDW trip, it becomes our first party trip. For us, absoultly worth it. My birthday is this month and Halloween is my favorite reason to celebrate. Not so much the candy, just the atmosphere and the spooky stories that the season brings. Add some Disney magic and I'm in heaven:cloud9: My DS is also a Halloween fan. He watches NBC, The Thomas Halloween special, and Disney's Halloween Treat year round. He's super excited about going to a halloween party.

Too old for BBB?! No such thing!!! lol, of course I've never grown up!! My sister got the royal treatment at age 16. You don't have to get the dress, just the "do". And I don't know anyone who doesn't like pirates!! From my prospective, it's a matter of what the girls like more and would enjoy more. My DD is actually considering on being a pirate this year just to do the league.

I'm with you on the food. I actually didn't book any character meals because for us it's a waste of money. Sure you get special character time, but all my kids eat there is cerial. $23-30 for a bowl of cerial doesn't sit well with me. Yeah, I know it's all you can eat, but my kids will (maybe on a good day) eat one entire bowl of cerial.

Yay for everyone buying their MNSSHP tickets:banana::banana:

We are on the fence about the party. I will decide while we are there. If I do go, it will be on the 18th. For us it will be another 216$ for party tickets....that's alot when I already bought park tickets. We did it a few years back but had annual passes...it didn't hurt as much buying party tickets when I didn't have to buy the park ones too.

Is the party worth the money?...probably not. But thats just my opinion;)

good morning everyone, I am thinking of adding a day and heading off to Sea World. Is there a shuttle that would take us from Disney to Sea World. I have not yet done any research on this it was a thought that popped into my head this morning.

what day did you order them?

wow how much did that cost , I paid $5 last year for the MVMCP but they came USPS

Ordered them on the first..had to call because that date wasn't available online, and it cost $5 to send them...wanted to keep them for will call but they wouldn't let me..even though I know someone else was allowed to...oh well, I've got them in hand!! Now I just have to remember to bring them?!?!!;)

yep, i think Epcot during the day won't be as bad, but at night on the weekend, i would avoid it. we are actually doing Epcot on our first sunday during the day, but heading to the F&W area right at 11am when World Showcase opens and then getting out of there before it gets too crowded.

i can't say much on the party, this is our first one. We have done the Christmas party- MVMCP 3x though and love it. And there isn't even candy at that one. I consider the MNSSHP a better value since there is candy too! The value goes beyond the candy- the amazing parade i hear about, Hallowishes, special characters in their halloween gear (including some characters you can only see at the party like snow white with all 7 dwarves), plus the stage shows and treat trails. I have big hopes for the party! It is pricey though. another option if you don't want to do the party is to book an ADR for say 6:45pm in the MK on a party night. That way, when you are done with dinner and head out, you can at least see all of the decor up on Main Street and on your way out as you exit. get a little taste of the atmosphere. And you can try and catch Hallowishes from a variety of places- the beach at the Polynesian or the viewing deck at the Contemporary. Or schedule an ADR at Cali Grill and jsut go have dessert and time it for Hallowishes on a party night.

We will be going the 18th, so if you decide to go- see you there!

I'll be there from 10/3-10/7 on a small surprise trip with my fiancee. She's never been so I'm pretty excited to drop the news to her at 4am on the way to the airport.

We are doing:

10/3- possibly AK or hanging around the resort and then an 8:45 PM at V&A
10/4- MK and her choice of restaurant
10/5- Epcot no ADR as we will be eating and drinking around the world
10/6- DHS and 7:45 ADR at Fulton's and shopping at DTD
10/7- Departing :sad2:

Yeah for you... I did that today also! :)

Our date is the 10/25

Ours is for the 18th, rain or shine, we'll be there!!!

A bit off topic, but maybe some of my fellow airline travelers can answer me a question. I have the option to do an online checkin for my flights. Has anyone done this? What does it entail? Does it save us some time/hassel at the airport?

Whenever possible, I do online check in. Saves hassle/time. Obviously, you still have to go through security, but if you have a checked bag, you can drop it at the curb and go straight to security.

Happy Mother's Day to All ! :flower3:

I noticed today they have added the discounted MNSSHP tickets to purchase online on the Disney site. Seeing the date we will attend made me almost order them  but I did fight the urge. I have to say I do hate that there is such a varience in ticket prices between September and October and then between discounted and non-discounted. It just seems a little unfair.
Ok done ranting now :rotfl:

Some airlines actually charge you a fee to checkin at the counter now. So checking in on-line ahead of time will help you save that $$.

Additionlally, if you check in ahead of time your seat is spoken for. On the off chance your flight is over booked, or if it is very important to you that your party have seats togehter, checking in ahead of time can help make sure you get what you want.

wow, i didn't know some were charging now to check in. I guess they are finding fees whereever they can. I was take aback when i had to pay $50 in 'seat selection' fees for Airtrain (we always fly AA).

I either check in online if i can at work, (don't have a printer at home to print boarding pass) or i use the machine. Used to, you could avoid the lines by using the machine, but now they even force you into a line to get your bag checked after using the machine. ugh.

Yeah, I was a bit annoyed by the AirTran seat fees too. I saw a report on ABC news one day where one of the reporters took a flight and purchased everything that the airline charged a fee for to see how much he could rack up. So the ticket, I don't know where it was going, was round trip through Delta or a major carrier like that and was $350 or so. Then he paid for an upgraded seat, seat selection, extra frequent flier miles, preferred boarding, a blanket, pillow, movie, headphones, food, drink, etc. He also paid for 1 regular bag, and overweight bag and a pet carrier. When all was said and done he charged over $600 or something just in fees. Nearly twice as much as the ticket itself! They certainly can find a lot of ways to screw you if they want. Some of them you can't get around and they are the ones that annoy me.
