In less than a week I get to make my adr's. I am happy with my list for adr's. My question is this. Is tourplans really worth the money just to check crowds for the one week I am there. I am just not sure I can justify it. Thoughts please.

whats your list of adr's steph ? to just check crowds I would think not worth it, but i don't really know do a search on that site and see what people think there, that's what I do.

I subcribed to TP last year for the first time, two aspects I find useful is #1 they will send you alerts when they update crowd levels etc for your days, and #2 you can do customized maps for touring the parks which I like better than the Disney ones since you can map out the attractions in the order that you want to visit them by numbers.

If you get all ears news letter it usually has a link to order TP at a substancial discount when I did it was around $7

just got mine yesterday........... they are above, came here for advice because they kinda got ripped apart by my baby board helpers but I feel better now, I'm thinking I may switch my Hollywood and Vine to breaky and also Akershus to breakfast also, too many dinners I have. Yours look great very exciting !

I really like it. And like Sheila said you can find a discount for $7 and the subscription is good for a year. I've found it very helpful with planning the days and such.

I have read that Hollywood & Vine is good for breakfast, not so much for lunch and dinner. I went there years ago and thought it was very good for Breakfast and ok for lunch

Akershus I think most say Breakfast is best as lunch and dinner both have more traditional norwegian fare going there for the 1st time this trip

I understand an added plus is Akershus for the cost of the meal , you recieve a pic w/ Belle

Good Morning Fellow October Travelers

Just wanted to share something I came across this am on the DIS boards that I found of interest since I had never heard about it before. I wish I had children traveling with me so we could do this it sounds like a lot of fun.

The Hiding of paint brushes on TSI in MK ....the reward fast passes for the entire family for BTMR or Splash Mt.

http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2678990

We dis this last trip..couldn't find any but the kids loved looking!!

i was pretty happy then I posted on my BBC board about them and now i'm feeling low :(

Oh man, I haven't been on BBC in AGES! Blast from the past!

Don't worry about what anyone else tells you. If the places look interesting to you and something your child will enjoy - then GO! The worst that will happen is you'll find out it wasn't totally to your taste. Then you move on. You're talking 1 meal. I seriously doubt 1 meal will ruin your entire vacation. Well, unless you become a hit-and-run victim of a rogue Warner Brother's character out to avenge his Pappy who tragically passed away from choking on Swedish fish while watching re-runs of the Mickey Mouse Club from the 90's. But, really? What are the odds of *that* happening?! :goodvibes:

I had issues getting the times I wanted for Les Chefs and Via Napoli. They were within the hour I had picked, but later then I preferred. Neither had many times still open.

I also got to book my Keys to the Kingdom Tour this morning! Oct. 22 at 8:30am! Super excited.
woo hoo- love KTTK- it is so much fun! So strange on the VN and Chefs- same with the Biergarten, seems people have had hard times with those for some really weird reason. There must be a glitch or something i am thinking? :confused3

Our family is taking it's FIRST Disney trip October 1-8!! We are staying at All-Star Sports. Have made our ADR's, but we are considering changing to late October to completely avoid Columbus weekend..what do you all think? But would hate to lose ADR's!! And re-figure them all out..spent a ton of time on this! So, yes!! Of COURSE I am already planning! 8 day park hoppers with 7 nights on the DDP, we've got Le Cellier booked (for lunch, for 1TS), Yachtsman (2TS), Planet Hollywood (on arrival day!) we will do Beaches and Cream one day (no reservations allowed!), Trail's End, Chef Mickey the other night we will just wing it...we are not schedulers..so this was a big deal to have to schedule meales 6 months out! but worth it! We like to eat good! Slightly worried though about our DD9 and if the kids' meals will be ok for her?:yay:
Welcome!:thumbsup2 looks like a great trip planned! what are you worried about on the kids meal- portion not big enough? if so, you can always order more if you need too, but in my experience it was always enough.

So excited to join this thread! Originally we were going to go in November, but because of school schedules we had to bump it up a month. No complaints here!! Anyway, booked our villa at the Animal Kingdom Lodge for October 23 - 29! Only 6 months away, YAY YAY YAY!!

Now, I just need to figure out this ADR booking process, haha.
Welcome!:wizard: love AKL!!!

So what do you all think????? I made all the ressies online except Fantasmic and the tea party...I had to call for those and I was on hold for 25 minutes:scared1: and I called at exactly 7am
Great ressies- doesn't look like we are doing anything at the same time- bummer!

Joining this thread! We are staying Oct 14- Oct 20 @ Kidani AKV & then on to BWV Oct 20-Oct 22. So excited! This will be our 1st time staying in a DVC studio. Plus we got the savannah view for AKV! :cool1: My kids are going to freak!
Made my ADRs yesterday. Here they are:

Tony's, Captain's Grill & Tutto Italia are new for us. My husband insisted on a couple new spots. Hope we like them.
Great ADRs! the kids are going to love all the animals at AK!

Thinking about booking 1900 Park Fare. I thought I read on allears that they no longer had Pooh and Tigger there but DH's co-worker went last weekend and she has pics of them both there for breakfast. :confused3 I would like for Ben to see a Pooh & Tigger of that size at 6 months. ;)

BTW Thought I'd share. We had our baby boy Ben on the 9th! :lovestruc

5618825373_19b079f1ea_m.jpg
Congrats- he's adorable!:love::lovestruc

What exactly is this? Got an idea, but not certain...also, I'm guessing you can't use DDP on this and I thought it was pretty expensive? Thanks for your help!
The dessert party is great- not accepted on the DDP, no. It is out of pocket, but a great experience!

this is a lot of fun. DH and i tried it one year, we were on the first boat over and never found anything, after almost an hour of looking. It was crazy. We never saw another family find anything either- you could see everyone running around like crazy looking. Finally we gave up and went back to the boat, the CM gave us a FP for Splash or Thunder anyways. i guess they felt bad for us. :confused3:rotfl:

Can you all help me with my ADR's i was pretty happy then I posted on my BBC board about them and now i'm feeling low :(

Arrival day Chef Mickeys 625pm we prefer breakfast here, the dinner used to be really good, but i felt it has gone downhill in past years. We did it in dec 2010. it was okay. but the real jewel is the character interaction- so if you go for that, it is a winner anyhow!!
Sunday Hollywood and Vine 1235pm
used to work here, but haven't done this meal since it became a character thing- i hear breakfast is better here.
Monday Crystal Palace 450pm
our absolute favorite for breakfast! it is a must do each trip. i haven't tried the dinner yet.
Tuesday Akershus 510pm
another great one, but again, only have done the breakfast. can you tell we like breakfast? lol
Wednesday Ohana 510pm
another must do for us each trip. it gets bad reviewes sometimes and last trip our service was horrible, but we LOVE the food. already booked for this trip!
Thursday BBB at 1pm 1900 Park Fare 430pm then the MNSSHP afterwards
1900 Park Fare is great too- really enjoy this one and the characters
Friday Ohana 905am
we are doing this one too- first time for me since i was a kid- can't wait! i hear it is fantastic!

I had asked for as many character dinners as we could do, now I'm told most of whats there kinda sucks and I'm bummed out :( HELP and suggestions gladly appreciated thanks
see my comments in red. like this comment below- keep in mind- not everyone agrees here. take everyone's 'reviews' with a grain of salt. I hear lots of people say they hate 'Ohana, but it is one of our favorites and has remained so. I'll never let someone's review or opinion stop me from trying a place for myself, then i'll make the decision on whether it is for me or not. Everyone is different, restaurants have off nights, servers have off nights too- so do what YOU want and then you can decide! :thumbsup2

Agree 100%:rotfl:;)

Congrates on getting your ADRs made!!!! I am sure Le Cellier going to 2 credits on the DP is the reason for the harder time getting a ressie at Yachtsmen, since I keep reading Yachtsmen is better. We have never done Le Cellier and DH wants to go there so will be using 2 cr at Le Cellier.

I am hopeing to get the Dessert Party on either 10/19 or 10/22 When they finally release the dates for Oct.

My Dad and I have always enjoyed Le Cellier. Sure it's not high end quality, but we're steak lovers and I've not had a bad meal there yet. LC also has the best beer on property (Fin Du Monde). I think Yachtsman was better overall, but I haven't done the Signature dinner at LC yet ... the improved poutine fries look great!

Since it's just 3 adults on this trip and we're not on the dining plan, we could have done Shula's, but instead we're throwing down the gauntlet and doing a LC vs Yachtsman challenge. We've got LC for dinner on 10/18, and YS for dinner on 10/21.

Chef Mickeys isn't an option for breaky or lunch we don't arrive until about 2pm that day and I wanted to start off the trip with something cool for her why I choose this place on first day, thanks though everyone has made me feel much better. I also prefer breakfast to dinners so I'm changing at least two of these as suggested.

Well, I was out of town this weekend, and didn't have time to read the boards since Friday! And then I went on Monday to make my ADRs and kept getting "Internal Server Error"! :scared: I finally called and got a couple of ADRs with the call, but then asked for V&A - and they cut me off!!

Thanks for the previous poster who suggested using IE instead of Firefox - I was able to get the last of my ADRs! :cool1: Although of course they may yet change. :rotfl: Particularly if DH decides he can't come. He's going to go with me to Epcot for F&W, but then spend most of his time on the golf course. So most of the ADRs are outside the parks.

Here they are:
10/15 - Kona dinner
10/16 - HBD Fantasmic! lunch
10/17 - Boma dinner
10/18 - California Grill dinner
10/19 - Jiko dinner
10/20 - V&A, late seating
10/21 - Sanaa dinner

Very excited!

Popping in again guys...I'm soooo looking forward to my October trip! I spoke with my Sister yesterday to figure out where she would prefer to stay. I know she'd love CBR but I also know that its a huge resort and the bus system is much to be desired...I dont think any other Mod would appeal to her so at this point I'm considering AKL for us. Uggghhh I wish I'd just get a PIN, it'd make things so much easier ;)

Also, I made a Facebook group for the March 2011 group and was contemplating making an Oct 2011 one as well unless there is one already?

Looks like everyone is getting their ADRs in order! This is so exciting for me, I get to make ours next week :) Still trying to figure out a few things but Ohanas, LeCellier, Cali Grill and CRT Breakfast is on the to do list for sure !

I got totally sucked into the Room Decorating thread and can't wait to do it myself.

Who else will decorate their room/windows/doors?

I love seeing decorations :thumbsup2 now that we are DVC members I really just have my interior door to work w/ ...but DH & I may possibly put some HUGE pic of some character on our window at BLT. last yr we thought about in Nov but then didn't it would have been great cause our window was facing the pool everyone would have seen it too.

I'm pretty sure I mentioned before I will do a door sign and share what it looks likes for any of you staying at BLT :goodvibes

I'm figuring $100 per person, also to be on the high side. I do this for meals, too, so that in a sense I'm "prepaying" my meals as if I were on the meal plan, but that "prepayment" stays in my pocket, not Disney's, and anything I don't spend is mine.

thanks for sharing what you are planning...I have my basic figure for now but plan to tweak as needed when we get closer after we have the minimum funds are set aside hopefully we can add to it as a buffer and yes I agree what I don't spend on food can be extra souvie $ or will be saved for our Jan trip :thumbsup2

They sell a special F&W gc on a coil type wristband you can purchase and load with as much $ as you like then you do not have to keep opening your wallet to use cash or your bank card , its just a more convientent method of paying than digging around for cash. You can reload more $ if you use up the initial amount you put on the gc and the gc can be used anywhere at Disney that accepts gc not just at the F&W Fest.

thanks for more info on these...I am planning on doing this and good to know these can be used on other things too....can I assume since it's a g/c it doesn't expire so if I have left over funds I can use it for another trip :confused3

Also I made my ADR's yesterday and booked the KTTK tour at MK :cool1:

I have:

Mon 17th Narcoossee's 7 pm

Tues 18th Hollywood Brown Derby 12 pm

Wed 18th The Wave 9:45 am

Thurs 20th KTTK tour 9:30 am
