***OFFICIAL*** October 2011 - Updated 10/08/11

Ok, October friends, I'm hitting you up one more time! :flower3:

DS is obsessed with all things Star Wars. I've tried to read about Jedi Academy on the DIS, but I'm still confused. Does anyone know for sure where I can sign up, and whether or not there are still meet and greets for Darth Vader, storm troopers, or others?

There's a thread on the Theme Parks forum for this. They have a tendency to change things up, but here's what it was like in February -- You have to get there early to sign up. Spots go quickly. At Rope Drop the crowd will split into two groups -- one going to TSM and the other to Jedi. Signup is back by Star Tours. Your child must be with you when you sign up. You get a card that has a return time on it -- usually you have to return like 15 minutes before the actual show. They keep giving out cards, starting with the first show, until they are gone. You can't request a later show, you just get what you get.

The stage is in that same area. You come back and go through the show. It's very cute. Also, they have a PhotoPass photographer there (which is fabulous since I had a dead battery moment right before the show. :scared1:). You can get those pics added to your CD if you have one.

There was also a Meet & Greet with Darth Vader and a Stormtrooper. That was going on in between shows, so we did the Meet & Greet and then the first show. Lines weren't too long for the characters at that point. Also, if you go past the stage and sign up area (with those things on your left), there is sometimes a PhotoPass photographer that will do a great shot of your kid (or you) with a lightsaber fighting Darth Vader. Honestly, that one turned out better than any of the actual fighting shots.

We loved it. It was totally worth it. You have to do Rope Drop to make it happen. Hope that helps.

I was just thinking about this yesturday. I've never been to DHS and don't know the layout. At DL they don't do sign ups, it's just be excited and raise your hand and hope you get picked. I need a game plan, too, cause I also need to get FP's for Toy Story. When you find out, please share :thumbsup2

You need one adult to go for TSM FPs and the other to go to Jedi. The child must be there at Jedi signup. When I was there the crowd at Rope Drop split, and both groups followed CMs back to their destination.

Good luck!

Just have to say -- single digits!:banana:

It's been a super busy week, but that's good because i'm focused. Stressed but focused.

Will try to post later with pics and maps for Jedi. And pics of the stuff i've been making for DS's birthday. Off to run a PTA meeting now and talk to the school about the email the teacher sent home yesterday. (Not a good day for DS. :sad2:)

Single digits!!! :yay::woohoo::yay::woohoo:

OK, so I know I'm a day behind, but I've been really, really busy.

*sigh* Eight days cannot go fast enough. On the other hand, at least I am busy until then. I honestly do not think I have a spare moment in the next week.

OH!!! I did my online check-in this morning for both reservations. I waited until today and did them both at the same time; that way (in my mind) they will know they are both connected. :rotfl:

Missed out on a great price on a rental car at National yesterday. One moment is was there and the next it was gone. :( It's all good, though.....it will work out.

You all have a great day. I've been at work since 6:30 and I've still got piles and piles on my desk.

How'd you do that and can you share the secret?? :lmao::lmao:
I assume you mean how we ended up on different airlines?
1) My husband is a little superstitious, and if my daughter isn't traveling with us, he doesn't want us both on the same plane - just in case.
2) For this trip, it's easy; he's coming in a day later than I am, and taking JetBlue was more convenient for him.

Bought my MNSSHP tickets for Sunday - so it's not yet sold out!

Three more sleeps! Well, two and a half if you consider that I have to leave the house at 4AM on Friday to get to the airport! :rotfl2:

Not sure if this the correct place to post this, but I'll give it a shot. We can do online checkin tomorrow (10 days tomorrow until we arrive :cool1::cool1:)

We have a split stay, first night is a room only, followed by a 6 night package with free dining. I have requested that we keep the same room for the entire stay. We were told that they could not assure us of this but they will try their best.

So tomorrow I'm doing the online checkin for our arrival date (Oct.22), will I have to do another online checkin the next day (this Thursday) for the second part of our reservation (Oct 23-29). YES!!

I hope my question makes sense. Thanks in advance for your comments.

Mike

It makes sense...we have to do exactly the same thing for exactly the same dates. I just did our room only today. I hope we get to keep the same room as well, kind of a pain to change.

Car is packed and ready to go. Come on 2:30. Hopefully the mail will come early today so I leave early. I gave the mail carrier candy yesterday, hopefully that will work. Hope everyone leaving soon has a great trip and is safe. See you guys in a couple of days. :thumbsup2

we did this last feb and we got the same room - they try very hard to keep you in the same room it's easier for all (that's what the cm told me)

Huh. I never would have thought of that. :thumbsup2

the washer will get fixed Friday morning. :cool1:

11 days!!!!!!!

Yay to everyone in single digits and those of you leaving today and tomorrow!!!!! :dance3::dance3:

I'm having a heck of a day. It'll be a miracle if I don't rip someone's head off by the end of today. Let me explain. No, there is too much. Let me sum up. Yesterday I had an endoscopy to confirm/deny (confirm) if I have Celiac disease. It was a lovely 40 minute rest, but my throat is still a bit raw from the tube. Other than that, easy breezy! So I'm already not 100%. Then I'm the only one in my group NOT in a training downstairs (only 2 of the 5 of us need to be in there - the other 2 there are observing just for the heck of it, including my boss who finds any reason at all to sit in training and "observe" - proper use of quotes). THEN I come in today to find out they are having some sort of orientation on my floor and the conference room next to me is being used for IT equipment. I sit in a cube next to a door. This presents a problem 2 ways. If it is open, I hear noise outside. If it's closed, I hear banging every time the door is opened. I can't focus with music on, so headphones bother me, although I've resorted to keeping the door open and wearing headphones because the banging doors were just about to send me over the edge. :headache: And it's only 10 AM!!!!!!! :scared1: So what annoys me is I could've just worked from home and avoided this whole thing HAD SOMEONE TOLD ME!!!!!! :headache::headache::headache::headache:

11 days. 11 days. 11 days. 11 days. 11 days.

Oh, my God!!!!! I so needed this laugh. You are having the day that I had the past two days (oh...and is happening again! lol). I'm sorry.

I loved the Princess Bride quote (one of my all-time favorite movies)!!! You take care of yourself and I hope the noise diminshes. See, I'm the opposite....if I don't have music or a TV show playing in the background, I'm about useless.

i was going to start organizing our Disney stuff so that after I wash a zillion load of clothes on Friday and Saturday but i could pack, but that didn't happen. As I am starting to put things in piles Keith (DS 4) comes in and states I can help you pack. He was such a help instead of tiny organized little piles I have one huge pile.:rotfl2:

See - one pile is much better than several. Everything is all together! :lmao::lmao::lmao:

I just have to say . . .

3 DAYS!!!

Whew - I'm glad I got that out!

:thumbsup2:lmao:

I just went on the WDW site and was notified that I can check in online tomorrow. I'm glad they let me know that!

I'm not doing it, though. I like going to a live person and checking in. I like the annoyance of standing in line with a 3 year old after being on a plane with a 3 year old even as said 3 year old hasn't had a nap. It's joyful. :lmao: And I'm former IT! I do my xmas shopping online! I do almost ALL of my shopping online!!! You would think online check in would be something I would LIVE for!!! If I was vacationing in, say, NYC I'd be all over it. WDW? Not a chance! :goodvibes

Love the Princess Bride quote!!! I saw a shirt I almost bought (should have) with screen art of a big "my name is" sticker, the white part of the sticker said "Indigo Montoya, you killed my father. Prepare to die!"

On my agenda for the next two days: today is the rest of my homework and mani/pedi's for DD and me. tomorrow is packing day and online check in for the boarding passes. I decided not to do online check in for the resort. I figure by the time we get there (9:30pm) there won't be much of a line. Also, I'm hoping for some Disney magic (a stretch, I know) because the hotel is over booked, we have a late arrival, it's my birthday (we actually arrive on my birthday) and our 1st visit, I hear we have a chance of getting upgraded to a deluxe (a remote chance, but a chance none the less). Monkey also has school that day, so I won't have "help". After both kids get out of school, I'm taking them to the corn mazes again and really ware them down, I'll have to bring DD's BFF with us. Then when we get home, I'm going to turn the projector on and we're going to watch movies "on the wall"

3 DAYS!!!

Keith (ds) just read your post and stated "3 days she better start packing", he has had his clothes pulled since Monday. But some how cords and sweaters don't work in Orlando. I asked him wshy winter clothes and he said that is all he has left in his dresser.
