I think the Segway tour is at Fort Wilderness, not Wilderness Lodge.

Of course, you're right! I knew that! :thumbsup2 I've never been to FW and WL, so keep mixing them up :rolleyes1

If you don't do it, I highly recommend renting a boat from the WL dock and going out on Bay Lake and Seven Seas Lagoon! It's so nice and relaxing and there are great views of the MK and the MK resorts. :thumbsup2

I had no idea there were boats for rent from WL. What sort of boats are they? I have actually never really sailed (apart from ferries - they don't count!) so I guess this could be a new and relaxing experience. Do you know the price? :goodvibes

Oh, and a little titbit of news: In 2009, when we went last time, the online ADR system was still brand new and didn't work that well, so I spent a lot of time on hold with Disney. Making ADRs and booking Wishes Dessert Party when you can hardly make out a word the rep is saying - not fun! Yesterday, I was reminded why the thought of calling Disney makes me go :scared1: I spent 20 mins first making my way to a rep through all the different menus (got stuck twice on the "Please enter your five-digit zip code" - our zip codes in Denmark are four digits, and it wouldn't let me proceed! :headache:) and then listening to bad quality music (we seem to always have a lot of noise on the line when calling the US), just to correct the date for our DME - which was correct on my printout, but not on the website  I sure hope I won't need to book anything else on the phone :rotfl:

good morning everyone, boy it's going to be a hot one today high's in the upper 90's and a possiblity of 100 (yuck). But better then 25 below zero. :rotfl2:

I have been doing a lot of reading on the dis this morning (staying cool) and have noticed that a lot of people are planning on attending 2 MNSSHP.

Do you need to attend two parties to see and do everything related to the party (not including rides)? :confused3 We plan to arrive at the park around 4:00 ish and stay until the end.

thanks
Susan

One more thing finished! Bought our park bag today. We ended up with a Swiss Gear Vertical Boarding Bag. It is just the perfect size for what we need and want. I am super excited!

My boys were complaining about the heat and all I said was "it's no different than the weather at Disney!"

They stopped complaining.:rotfl:

84 here in Connecticut and the humidity is not bad at all today only 43% but it makes me glad I switched my dates from September to October, hopefully this will be as hot as it gets when I am on vacation.

After having to cancel our trip last October to the World b/c I was diagnosed with a brain disease and had to have brain surgery, I am planning a trip for this October, I am thrilled yet worried at the same time. I am very sensitive to the heat now and my stamina just isn't what it used to be, although I am working on that, exercising as much as my body will allow me, too. My kids were so upset last year that we had to cancel that this year we are keeping it a surprise from them until we pick them up from school the day we are leaving and we will tell them then! I just hope I can keep my big, excited mouth shut until then :rotfl2:

If I have to deal with these temps, I would rather be doing it at Disney then weeding the garden! :lmao:

We put ABSOLUTELY EVERYTHING on our Disney Chase Visa and pay the balance in full each month. By October, we should have enough Disney Reward Dollars to pay for our Dining this trip!:woohoo:

NICE!! :woohoo:

I'm so sorry to hear about the brain disease/surgery/canceling the trip. But that's great that you will be able to go this year! Where are you planning on staying? My only advice to you would be use common sense: Take a break back at the resort for a nap and/or swim during the hottest part of the day, drink plenty of water, and if you feel your stamina waning, don't be afraid to rent a wheelchair or ECV. I might also recommend getting a GAC and having it marked that you are sensitive to the heat so perhaps you can wait in shady/cooler areas. I'm sure your kids will be very excited!

I don't think so. You can enter the park at 4pm and if you stay the whole time you should be fine. Hope that helps.

We've never been to the Halloween party but we have gone to the Christmas party and I don't think you need more than one day to absorb everything. If you want to stand in line for all of the characters, maybe. But if you're staying the whole time then I would think you could do the characters later after the first wave (with little ones, like me!) kind of clears out. I have heard that's the best time for autographs.

Hi everyone

Just wondering about the rides on the night of MNSSHP - are they all operating and what will the wait times be like? We are going on a Tuesday night. My son isn't showing much interest in the characters, seems he just wants the treats and rides!
The more planning I do for this trip the more undecided I am becoming about what to do each day, seems I still have a lot to learn. I have just ordered the unoffical guide to WDW along with a couple of other books so I hope that will help. One month for them to be delivered though!

Not all rides operate. This is a party map showing which ones were from last year: http://www.wdwinfo.com/holidays/photos/mnsshp-map2.htm

Wait times seem to vary, depends on the night, how close to Halloween, etc. It seems a lot of the longer waits are for the characters since there are so many rare ones. I've heard of waits from 5 minutes on Space Mountain to more than 45 on various rides. UG is great! I also recommend Passporter.

Thanks for posting the MNSSHP Map from last year :thumbsup2

Well I got a pin. Not that I can use it at all, but hey... It's good from 8/28-9/24 and it's free dining. Plus we rented DVC points, so no pin will matter to me. Just an FYI, though, for all who are waiting for October pins and promotions.

They sent you a PIN for THAT?!? Isn't that just the same offer that's out for the general public?!
