The Disney Food Blog is reporting that the theme of the 2011 Epcot Food & Wine Festival is "Passport to a World of Flavors" and that three new World Showcase Food Booths will be added to this year's festival. The new booths are Scandinavia, the Caribbean Islands, and Hawaii.

Hawaii makes sense with the new DVC resort getting close to completion.

I don't really care what the theme is... I just want it to get here! :rotfl:

Looks like we'll be at WDW around the same time! Our countdown tickers are amost identical!

I'm so sorry to hear about the brain disease/surgery/canceling the trip. But that's great that you will be able to go this year! Where are you planning on staying? My only advice to you would be use common sense: Take a break back at the resort for a nap and/or swim during the hottest part of the day, drink plenty of water, and if you feel your stamina waning, don't be afraid to rent a wheelchair or ECV. I might also recommend getting a GAC and having it marked that you are sensitive to the heat so perhaps you can wait in shady/cooler areas. I'm sure your kids will be very excited!

We love POP but I told my DH that after everything I have been through I think we are going to upgrade to a moderate and stay at POFQ!! From what I have read that seems to be nicer than POR??

I know I have been MIA for a few weeks and I am sorry. I have a good reason, been getting ready for vacation with my in laws and working and basicly life itself. I have not forgot all of you, just busy.

I am writing today because Justin was stung by a jellyfish and I gave him a benedryl so he is sleeping and I am staying in the condo with him while the rest of the family is at the beach. We did some great pics this morning with the beach in the background, I will post them later next week.

Anyway, I just wanted to let you all know that I have not desserted you all. Welcome to all the newbies to the thread. I will add you next week to the list.

I am off to check on Justin and maybe take a nap myself, since I am on vacation. lol. Talk to you all next week, miss you all!!

We have not stayed at any of those, but we did visit POFQ and POR last trip to explore and see if we want to stay there sometime. After visiting, we prefer POFQ. It's smaller and we like the style better. POR seemed very spread out and although we originally liked it when looking at pictures, it was just not our style. I also highly recommend renting DVC points. We did that and were able to stay at Kidani Village at AKL and this time we will be staying at BCV. Kidani was cheaper than All Star Music, and BCV is cheaper than POFQ. The rent/trade forum on the DVC board here is great. I hope you can upgrade, you deserve it!

Add us to the October list

10/6 to 10/16 as of right now a little nervous about Columbus day since this will be our 1st October visit.

Any tips or advice?

Add me too! My dates are 10/12-10/19. Cant wait for our trip back!!! Definatly cant wait for the food and wine festival! :thumbsup2

not sure if i posted this question so i am going to ask again. We have three options for MNSSHP. Either a Thursday, Sunday or Tuesday (last option) what day would you choose? I am thinking about crowds.

TIA
Susan
Tuesday is probably the least crowded option! :) That is what we usually try and do. The weekend parties are more crowded. out of that list, i would say Tuesday is least crowded, then Thursday and sunday maybe?

After having to cancel our trip last October to the World b/c I was diagnosed with a brain disease and had to have brain surgery, I am planning a trip for this October, I am thrilled yet worried at the same time. I am very sensitive to the heat now and my stamina just isn't what it used to be, although I am working on that, exercising as much as my body will allow me, too. My kids were so upset last year that we had to cancel that this year we are keeping it a surprise from them until we pick them up from school the day we are leaving and we will tell them then! I just hope I can keep my big, excited mouth shut until then :rotfl2:
So sorry to hear this. We've been going through similar with my mom for years. She's had two brain surgeries- they removed her pitutary gland (benign growth)---it was putting pressure on her optic nerves and now she is legally blind. She gets overheated easy and has no stamina either. We encourage her to use a wheelchair at the parks, as she just can't keep up and of course being legally blind is tough too. Use a wheelchair if you need it, even if not for the entire trip. My mom hated the idea of using one, but she really needed it. Hope you have a fabulous trip!!!!!!

YUMMY!!!! I cannot wait!!

I love POR- it is my favorite mod, but POFQ is nice too- i've stayed there once. It is just smaller, more intimate. I loved the pool at POR. Both food courts are really good too. You can't go wrong with either one. It just depends on what "theme" you like more. We like the sort of rustic feel of the alligator bayou rooms at POR. But the POFQ rooms are nice too. Be sure and try the beignets one day for breakfast- we sometimes make a trip over to the POFQ food court just for that!

Staying BC from 20th Oct - 30th Oct after RPR at Universal for 4 nights.

Stayed at YC last year and really looking forward to it!!

Hey October DISers! October Park Hours have been tweaked!:scared1:

http://www.disneytravelagents.com/S.../pdf/ParkHours/WDW_Operating_Calendar_Oct.pdf

For my week (22nd-29th), the changes I noticed are:

EPCOT's hours on Friday are extended from 9pm to 10pm
EPCOT's evening EMH moved from Tuesday to Wednesday
EPCOT's morning EMH moved form Friday to Tuesday
Animal Kingdom's morning EMH moved from Wednesday to Friday

Time to double check your ADRs and Touring Plans!:rotfl:

That changing of AK AM EMH from Wednesday to Friday makes me happy! That's our park for after MNSSHP and I wasn't planning on getting up early to get there. Now we won't be super late, just late.

Thanks for posting this. I was a little bummed that they had changed the PM EMH @ Epcot to Tues since we are not there on a Tues but now that it is back to Wed as in previous years I am a Happy Camper

Off now to "play" with my ADRs :rotfl:

I just found out that ticket prices will be increasing this Sunday, June 12th. This is almost two months earlier than normal. :sad2: I was waiting to buy our tickets next month before the annual August 1 increase and I don't have the money to buy them now.

Here's a link to the new prices:

Wow that is really gonna throw a lot of people for a loop. Here I been waiting for Disney to maybe offer a better discount for my dates but if I have to play higher ticket prices there goes part of any savings I might reap

2 Months earlier than in previous years is a big jump :scared1:

Will we have to pay any additional money? I would think that the quote for our booked packages would not go up even with the new price increase. Does anyone know?

If you are already booked the increase will not effect you unless you make changes after June 12th.
