I have always wondered this but afraid to ask. Why can't you swim in the lakes at WDW?

Oh, how Pete would kill you (owner of the boards, he has a running joke on his podcast about 'stay out of the damn lakes!'----anyhow- there are snakes, crocs and deadly amoeba. Seriously, the kind that can get into your brain and kill you. And really, have you seen that water? would you really want to get in?

Just got an e-mail from Disney reservations (no it's not a pin) my great DH upgraded us from POP to the Caribean. I have been talking about it kind of hinting that it would be nice but never thought it would happen. Thank you Jeff.

Hey all ... I am excited to chime in here and say that I will be there Oct 9th - 16th staying offsite at Orange Lakes Resort and Country Club. I am doing the 10th and 11th for my MNSSHP dates with my dd 9 and her bff and my bff (which is her bff's mother) ha ha..

This is my first halloween party and Im very excited to be coming along

Hi all. It's official for us. Just got great rates last night on Southwest $80 one way from Hartford to Orlando----YES!! We'll be staying at WL from 10/26-29 and just decided to extend through 11/1. Now to get a discount, right??

Did make a reservation for the Haunted Carriage Ride at Ft. Wilderness for 10/31. Sounds like fun!

Thanks, Parla! We are also going at 9:30 pm. Just made the reservation yesterday, and was lucky enough to get that time on Halloween night. Celebrating my DH's bday 10/27 and our anniversary 11/3. FYI we camped at Ft. Wilderness on our honeymoon 11/79.

the haunted carriage ride sounds great, wondering how scary is it? We have a 4 and 6 year old and don't want to scare them so much that they don't enjoy the trip.

That's pretty neat! We went to Orlando on our Honeymoon in 1993. Spent some time at Disney, some at Universal and then got the worst sunburns of our lives at Cocoa Beach so we spent the last two days groaning in pain at the condo my in-laws had traded some timeshare points for. The first time we took the kids in 2006 was much better.

Hi! Have never done this and it has been on my bucket list. Here is some info which I copied from Allears.net

Haunted Halloween Carriage Rides at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground

Haunted Carriage Rides – A 25-minute narrated carriage ride through the dark woods of Fort Wilderness and along the shore of Bay Lake. Hear the sights and sounds of the "Legend of Sleepy Hollow." All rides depart from the Blacksmith's Shop at Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground.

HOURS:
September 30 through October 31
On the half hour from 7:30 to 10:30 p.m. (Last ride begins at 10:30.)

Carriage holds up to 4 adults or 2 adults and 3 small children. Cost is $60.
Call 407-WDW-PLAY (939-7529) to book.

Made my reservation with Judd at that number. What a great CM!! I believe you have 1 day cancellation. We'll probably get there at 9:00 ish to check in for 9:30. Can't wait to be surprised!

Yes, you are correct. $60/carriage. I have heard that Ft. Wilderness campsites are also decorated by guests as well, so it should be fun. Always loved the Legend of Sleepy Hollow!

I absolutely love this!!! Great job! I'm always a fan of a good song parody. I wrote one a few years ago for Single Riders to "Single Ladies."
