Where is the like button for this??? This makes me feel better :)

I was trying to verify the dates for Fantasmic but the travel agent's calendar is no longer available :confused3 Trying to decide if I will keep my Fantasmic Pacakage lunch ADR now that they are showing Fantasmic on more than 2 nights when we travel 10/22-10-29. :surfweb:

Good morning, everyone. Hope everyone is enjoying their Sunday and takes a moment to reflect on the tragedy that happened 10 years ago today.

I got my ME mail earlier in the week at around the 35 day mark. :goodvibes Still trying to decide how many suitcases we'll check. We're a family of 6 and tend to bring a lot of stuff along. But we'll be at SSR and have a washer & dryer in our villa, so doing laundry should cut down on the amt of clothes we'll all need. I'm hoping to get by with just a few carry-ons and one large checked bag. If I didn't have to pay $50 for each checked bag, no doubt I'd take more. Frugality is going to force me to only bring 2 pairs of shoes and they may not match my outfits each day. *gasp*

Taking a break from the 9/11 memorials and thanking goodness that we have the DisBoards to retreat to - 45 days......

Hey, we should start a Disney one.....

"This little piggy went to Disney,
This little piggy stayed home,
This little piggy had [insert favorite Disney treat here],
This little piggy had none,
And this little piggy went "wee wee wee" all they way on [insert favorite Disney ride here]"

:thumbsup2

How's that?:lmao:

I love it! And Mickey ice cream bars are my favorite!! Along with the popcorn, so that would work for me!!!! :thumbsup2

I had to get away from the tv this morning as it was almost as heartbreaking to watch the ceremonies today as it was to watch the tragedy as it happened 10 years ago. As I'm sure we all do, I remember it so vividly. I'm glad I had my daughter making a lot of noise in the house today to distract me from becoming a sobbing mess! I'm so glad to have the DIS for some relief!

We got some stickers yesterday to start marking our countdown calendar come Tuesday. DD picked Toy Story and Mickey Mouse. As much as I love when she's a little princess, I also love when she strays from going into princess overload. Sometimes it gets to be a bit much! :upsidedow

42 days!!! Woohoo!!!! OOh, and 6 weeks from today!!! OMG I just realized that and I'm soooooooooooo excited now!! Even more than before!!! That calls for:

:dancer:

You got it!!! :rotfl:

I realized I forgot to do my song:

This little piggy went to Disney,
This little piggy stayed home,
This little piggy had Mickey ice cream bars and popcorn,
This little piggy had none,
And this little piggy went "wee wee wee" all the way on Mission Space! (yes, I love spinning thrill rides!)

I am totally a sobbing mess! I am dragging myself away from the tv AND the computer now. It's a beautiful day outside(one of the last warm ones we will have for this year :sad1:) and I'm going to finally shower and go do something with the kids! Maybe a bike ride to the Botanical Gardens and take some photos with my fancy camera I have no idea how to use. :rotfl:Brent is going to watch the Steeler game and keep me updated on the Bears game.

I watched a little of the ABC coverage this morning and Katie Couric was on there. When 911 happened I was watching the Today show and then the second plane hit. MSNBC also had the Today show coverage from 9/11 on this morning.

I had to make myself get out of the house. Only my 12 year old knows about what 911 means. I took my little one to the park and am so thankful to have her!

I know the feeling-I can't read or watch anything about it without crying. One of our local retailers used their full page ad as a memorial, with just a link to a webpage for their sales, and I burst out crying.

Yes we are too.... Probably going Thursday Oct 13th

Wow Only 34 days till Disney!!! :cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1:

Time is starting to fly by and the next 2 weeks will be crazy. I have DS's 1st birthday on friday and then DD's 12th birthday the next weekend. And in all this planning I just realized I had forgotten all about some key parts of planning such as photopass. Last time I went I did a photoshare, but it seems those are a no, no now.

Universal (Royal Pacific) 10/6 - 10/11
HHN 10/9

Disney (ASMu) 10/11 - 10/16

My husband made me turn the tv off today. We lived in Boston when the attack occurred and a good friend of mine was killed that day. I knew when I woke up today I could easily get sucked in to watching the news coverage all day, but luckily JP (my husband) was sort of prepared for it and kept us busy all day. This is the first time I've been online most of the day, and I'm purposely only visiting here and FB.

I think we will just do IOA this time. We are going (assuming I don't change my mind again!) on Oct. 17, which is a Monday. Orlando Informer has that as the best day for the week we will be down.

This is only the kids second trip to Disney and the first one was during Easter last year - that means we didn't get to do hardly any of what we wanted to do because of the crowds.:scared1: This time we are planning on getting in every bit we can! :thumbsup2

I'm so sorry. I'm glad DH is keeping you away. :thumbsup2 I knew friend of a friend, but no one directly, and it's been hard enough.

I've been busy trying to ease DD out of naps. She's starting to grow out of them and it's been a battle trying to get her to take one lately, so we just decided to phase them out on the weekends. The transition has been challenging, to say the least. So today has been filled with activities to keep her occupied and avoid a meltdown, but try and avoid overstimulating her as well! An hour until bed time and she's getting a bath now. Hopefully we can do a bit of a movie after and get her up to bed easily. She didn't nap in day care at all last week but I'm hoping this week she will at least some of the days because no naps at all is just too much! :scared1: Fingers crossed!!

I'm glad your husband kept you busy all day. The kids teachers gave them a homework assignment to watch at least one show about 9/11 and then they wanted to keep watching. The older 2 were only 1 and 2 and the youngest wasn't born yet, so they were very interested.

I didn't even know anyone personally affected like you and I'm still so emotional/bothered/raw/sad/angry/upset by what happened that I can't help but cry when I even start to think a lot about it. All those babies that lost their parents, all those that lost their friends, brothers, sisters, the list goes on and on. I remember hearing a story about how they had police cars at bus stops to pick up kids that day in case there were no parents waiting for them to come home and that just broke my heart all over again.

And here I am a sobbing mess again.

Count us in for October 9-15. We're staying at Pop Century again.
We can't wait!!!

the best days of the week to do IOA are Sun, Tue, Wed, Thurs.
if a monday is a holiday, then scratch sunday off the list for a low crowd day.

there tend to be larger crowds on most mondays since earlier this year.
in years past, i would include monday as a good day, but not anymore.

be there around 8:10ish and you will be close to the front of the entrance gates.
onsite hotels are allowed in one hour prior to the official opening time.
for the month you are going, 8:00 is the time for early entry.

if you are in the major line by 8:00, the early entry peeps will be going in at that time.
you would then be front of regular line then.
there are some days when the parks are not crowded that those in line have been let in around 8:45.

of course everyone goes straight to potterville......

for early entry, only the potter section is open.
at 9:00/or right before, the rest of IOA will be open.
sometimes the hulk will open around 8:45.

orlando informer is not correct on this one.
if you read thru some of the threads in the main forum at universal dis site, you'll find many day trippers skipping out on going on monday due to lesser crowds on other days of the week.
